Now I can see (where exactly I was wrong)

Having to return to the normal classes after the months of private crash lectures by almost all of the Star Light Power teachers really didn't do well with his brain, not even now. However, after reaching a conclusion that should have been fairly obvious from the start now that he thought about it (which was that with his powers he could never be a proper powers teacher, for as William had smartly said, they didn't really teach the students anything about themselves) he was forced, in a way, to return to his usual class and finish the rest of the curses which were required of him if he ever wished to be anything more than a student-teacher.

He still lived in a city now, though, having been given a small flat by the school with his 'teacher' position, and he couldn't wait to get their now, and simply lie on the floor for hours, possible with his wings spread around him. He never got much chance to stretch them nowadays, and the flat was just big enough to do that. Humming in agreement with his own idea, he quickly exited the room, imagining that he was already there.

This, unfortunately, didn't seem to be in the fate's plan for his day.

Gabe was in a world of his own, he was thinking excitedly about the evening ahead of him with William. That's what he had spent the entire lecture doing, as it so happened. If he was honest there was hardly ever a moment when Bill wasn't on his mind - as sappy as that might sound, the boy meant the world to him. He smiled at his phone as the text popped up from Bill and he sent a quick reply, leaving class now, be prepared for my arrival any minute now, mi cereza! gabey baby xo .

Unfortunately Gabe had been too involved in what he was texting to look at where he was going and suddenly he found himself smacking into Michael. He stepped back, and began to laugh it off like he usually would until he realised exactly who he had banged into.

"Oh," Gabe couldn't stop the word from leaving his mouth. His expression hardened, but it wasn't exactly malicious . He hadn't seen Michael around for months, but he remembered Bill telling him about that day when the boy had been forced to go to one of Michael's power classes or whatever they were.

Gabe was generally a very passive person but seeing Michael resurfaced pent up emotions he had been feeling for months. He didn't want to talk to the man for fear of losing himself, though he felt like if he tried extremely hard he'd be able keep himself under control. Regardless he tried to sidestep Michael.

It didn't take long for Michael to realise that, judging by the fact that he was trying to sidestep him, Gabriel wasn't there to see him. He remembered faintly something about the other man being in some of his classes, but, even if he thought about it beforehand, he would never have guess that that has stayed the same. Still, it was, however, it meant nothing if the other didn't want to talk to him. He knew he would have to give time, to both, and hope that what was broken could still be mended. After months of convincing himself that he would just have to learn how to deal with a bitter taste the broken friendship has left in his mouth, even the faint hope was a relief. Thus, he stepped to the side to let Gabriel pass.

I am sorry for what I've done. he said first though, looking Gabriel in the eye. I have said the same thing to William and he had answered me that I should talk to you first. He thought leaving it at that for now was the best.

Michael was right, Gabriel definitely was not there to see him. Of course Gabriel hadn't changed his classes simply because he no longer got on with Michael, it wasn't as if he'd put himself through all that bother with the administration when it was far easier to simply ignore and avoid the other man, pretend he didn't exist almost.

Gabriel didn't exactly have any intention to mend his relationship with Michael, he felt it would have been better to have just left it, it wasn't as if the two had ever exactly gotten along well in the first place. He sighed as Michael began to speak, but stopped walking.

"I see," Gabe replied after a moments hesitation, he wasn't really sure how to respond to Michael. He could hardly say he accepted the apology when it was not the case. "Well uh, you have a chance to talk to me now, so shoot." He hoped it wouldn't take long, he wanted to get back to William.

You'll never guess who I bumped into , Gabe keyed to Bill, might be a tad late.

As I said... he began, choosing his words carefully. He had a chance to explain himself and he would not waste it. However, some of the things that caused him to snap back then ran deep inside him and explaining it all to Gabriel seemed...inappropriate. They were neither friends nor did he want to sound like he was just lining up excuses.

I am sorry for what I said. Did. he tilted his head. He had done both and was sorry for both. Everything. I was wrong. And I know that you will think that simply saying sorry isn't enough, nor that I shouldn't have done it in the first place but... At that time it was inevitable. He thought about it for a second, and decided that yes, it was best to skip all the sad story parts and chuckled. Let's just say that I had a few screws missing from my head. There was still the fact of William coming to him scared out of his mind because of Gabriel, but if that was the thing of the past, and the words in which William had described the other boy yesterday really gave off that feeling of deep connection and trust, then it wasn't relevant any more.

But everything's in its place right now and I can see exactly where I was wrong. he said, shrugging his shoulders a bit. So I would like to apologize, and, well, if you're still mad enough, I have no problem with you punching me. Or electrocuting me. As long as we're near infirmary.

Gabe tried not to appear impatient as he waited for Michael to explain himself. I suppose I might as well give him a chance, it won't exactly hurt will it? He wondered to himself. He just hoped the boy wouldn't start making annoying excuses, he couldn't deal with those.

"Yeah?" Gabriel tilted his head, it was kind of easy to say you were sorry but proving it was another matter. However Gabe had made mistakes in the past and he knew that at the start all you can really do is say sorry and from then you've to prove that you mean it. "Hmm what do you mean 'inevitable' ?" He frowned a little, he didn't really think it was ever 'inevitable' to lash out at someone for no apparent reason, it certainly hadn't been called for at the time.

Gabe didn't like how Michael was trying to gain pity by talking about his mental state. It still didn't really allow him to be nasty to people. "Well thanks for apologising," Gabe tried to keep himself civil, "and I don't really feel like punching you dude." He might not like Michael but he was clever enough to know that starting a physical fight with the man wouldn't end well.

"You do realise I don't electrocute people on purpose," Gabe narrowed his eyes, a little bit insulted that the man had just assumed he would intentionally use his powers to hurt someone.

Of course not. he said, shaking his head. He really didn't, not now anyway, and he couldn't really remember about back then, but that hardly even mattered. At least not people in general. I just thought that in my case you'd want to. I have in the end insulted both you, your boyfriend, who was my friend, and your relationship. A physical sign of anger simply seemed to be in order. he said, shrugging his shoulders lightly. Though, after all this time, perhaps not... he trailed off, thinking that he probably didn't explained himself the best. And how could you explain this to someone, anyway, without sounding like complete idiot? Or mental.

And by inevitable I mean that I have build myself in such a way that it had to happen. he just didn't know it at the time, but neither did he mean it. Not exactly. In that way... Well, not anymore anyhow.

The point being that now, I know I was wrong to say...whatever I have said. I can't remember exactly. Whenever I think about it, my memory gets fuzzy. he said, bringing his hand to his head. It was as good of a guess as any that he was trying to suppress it. I didn't mean to hurt either you or William. I was just stupidly worried about.

Gabe felt a little rude as he pulled out his phone, but he couldn't help it. Whenever he heard the little ping that meant he had got a message he had to check it in case it was William. He didn't want the boy to feel like he was ignoring him. Sure enough it was his boyfriend: God dammit, do whatever you want with him. Don't call yourself Gabey baby. What's cereza? Love you xx

Glancing at Michael Gabe couldn't help but giggle a little bit at Bill's reply. William always knew how to make him laugh, and that was probably very helpful in this situation as laughing meant he was less likely to lose control of his powers. He's making pathetic excuses, but I'm keeping control of myself are you proud? Why not?? I think Gabey Baby is a cool nickname! Cherry, mi principe! (That's prince) Love you too xx

Gabe turned his attention back to Michael and shook his head a little. "I don't get it dude, I mean why did you always have such a hatred for me?" He frowned a little, "I mean I guess I wasn't exactly the nicest to you but when we had to move in together I did try really hard and I didn't say a nasty word." He shrugged, "if you had been building up to it surely you should have done it when I was being nasty not when I had changed my ways?" He shrugged.

"I'm sorry but I don't see where you want to go from here?"

He wasn't understanding. Naturally. a part of him thought, but he couldn't help bit feel a bit bitter about it for he had tried really hard to explain himself. And he was tired of that. He was tired in general, of class, people, and noises, but this conversation had at doubled a heavy feeling in his chest. Maybe it would have been better if he had just left everything in the dust where it has been lying for months.

Thus, he shrugged his shoulders and said Nowhere. where he wanted to say I wanted to try be friends again. because it was easier than than the alternative, and added I just wanted to apologize. I have done wrong in the end.

His wings felt heavier than ever under his skin and he simply wanted to get home. This conversation wasn't amounting to anything anyway. However, he couldn't get his legs to move.

And I didn't hate you. I was simply afraid. For William that is.

Perhaps the reason that poor Gabriel wasn't understanding what Michael was trying to say was because the man wasn't explaining himself clearly and in a way that made sense to Gabe. It was starting to irritate Gabe how patronising Michael was being, as if he felt like some mature adult while Gabe was still just a reckless twenty-three year old.

"Well if this conversation is going nowhere," Gabe said sharply, "then why did you bother to open your mouth? Why not just have let me go past." He scowled a little bit, "you're getting angry at me for not understanding what your point is but you're not exactly helping me to understand it either."

Gabe knew that he should just walk away now and leave it but the feelings of pent up anger were beginning to get out of control no matter how hard he tried to suppress them, and the last straw was when Michael said 'I was simply afraid. For William that is. ' Gabe narrowed his eyes, "oh yeah? Afraid for William? Are you sure that was it, 'cause quite frankly you acted like you were jealous , you know Michael I'm starting to think you wanted Bill all to yourself." Scared for William? As if Gabe would have any intention of hurting the boy.
