Johanna was left scrunching her face at assortment of strange foods laid out in the school cafeteria. There were the stables like bread, meat, fruits and vegetables but... every now and then she just had pause her place in line to gawk at some things they were serving and calling food. Roasted snails? Fish wrapped in rice and seaweed? Where can she even begin with dishes that come from region called India? And now... she was staring at bowl filled with eyeball... literal eyeballs. She had no idea from what species they come from but could almost feel that some of them were staring back at her lifelessly. She could only shake her head and shuffle down the buffet line.

As she moved down, she looked down to her own plate, which was mostly bare. Just two slices of wheat bread and pear. Mostly she was just sticking to foods that she was more familiar with but some of the foods she saw made her lose her appetite. That that she had much of appetite to begin with, she always ate food sparingly and to see such much piled up so high was about as alarming to her as some of their contents. It was almost as all of the food displayed was meant to test her temperance... a test of her resolve to resist the temptation of gluttony itself.

"Do you see this brother? All of this food just displayed like this." stated Johanna as she turned to look to her brother behind her. To Johanna, to see so much food was shocking to her as its variety.

So many foods, so many choices. Hadrian ,unlike his sister, was a little more curious about the food that was served. He'd helped himself to some of the fish and meat dishes and even grabbed some dark chocolate cake, so sweet and decadent that it could possibly be considered sinful. "I mean, it would be hard to serve each student separately, so it makes sense," he'd say as he flow her.

"Plus, I've read that some species have different dietary needs," he had his usual calm, cute, smile as they spoke. He placed a soda on his tray, his golden eyes looking over the food as the passed, "we could start making our own meals if you wanted, but we'd need to get jobs first to buy groceries."

He adjusted the tie of his uniform as he spoke, "by the way, your new uniform looks really nice." he said glancing at her. He was oddly enough adjusting well to everything, he was worried his sister wasn't doing as well with their new surroundings.

"Hrrmm... an excellent point. Some species are restricted in their diets. Even some individuals in the same I notice require peculiar diets. Though... I have yet to ascertain which race requires eyeballs for nourishment." remarked Johanna as she continues to follow the pace of the line. She stopped for a moment to look at the vats of soups and stews put out on display. After reading though some names, decided grab a bowl and give herself two ladels-worth of cream of mushroom soup. Once she had her soup she resumed speaking "The meals here in the cafeteria are free to all students so I feel its in our best interest to take advantage of such a public service... even if I feel they could streamline the process."

As made her way to the pastes, she gawked when she saw angel hair listed and was about to say something when she realized that it was actually some form of thin noodle. She just shook her head. and turned to her head.

"I would wish to know the person who decided to call this form of pasta "angel hair". Its an awfully misleading title." so stated Johanna, holding out her hair to compare with the pasta that is its namesake and shakes her head once more. Then she lets go of her strands of hair and looks to her brother.

"Ah you think so? It feels a little... off... but I nevertheless appreciate the academy uniform. Its good that this place has at least some disciple." piped up Johanna, having taken a liking to the uniform if only because the regimented clothing regime brought along a familiar comfort of home. She looked her brother up and down, taking the time to admire her brother's new uniform before she gives her nod a approval.

"You seem to wear the uniform quite well yourself Hadrian."

"Well your hair is definitely prettier," he said chuckling and stepping over to look at the pastas. "Maybe we should be flattered," he said jokingly and gently poking her ribs as they started moving again, "at least we won't have to worry about going hungry."

"Yeah, you look beautiful," he confirmed as he continued along with her, "it suits you." He looked her up and down quickly, "though you always look nice."

He glanced down at himself, "I don't know." Hadrian looked back to her, she looked stunning, near perfect, he not so much, at least not from his perspective, while he didn't come off as formal, he did look cute. "Maybe I'm just not as nice looking," he said as he followed her, at least a few girls disagreed, looking at him. Heven would glance at the girls and one would wink at him, making his cheeks blush and the girl giggle.

"Beautiful?" asked Johanna as she her body stiffened letting out a smile and small head bow "Ah... your too kind Hadrian... and humble. I think you look good yourself... handsome even."

As the two neared the end of the line, shuffled her way to the fountain machine and filled her glass with icy cold water. As looked behind her, she saw her brother exchanging glances with a few harlots giving her brother lecherous glares as giggled and blushed. Johanna's grip on her glass tightened as pulled the glace towards herself. The faint smile that was once on her face now turns into a stoic expression. She takes her tray with her meal and drink and walks right next to her brother so that her presence is made obvious.

"Ah, Hadrian... do you see a place for use to sit? Preferably for just he two of us." ordered Johanna as stands at her brother's side, looking to the women with a fiery gaze. Upon seeing her, the giggling girls quickly hush themselves. They hunch over and return to eating their meal to avoid Johanna's piercing gaze. Wit the threat suppressed, Johanna looked out for some open tables until she spots an empty table for for near the back.

"Ah, I see one actually. Come with me Hadrian." spoke Johanna with not so much a hint of emotion in her calm demeanor as she marched herself to the free table and lay claim to it before someone else takes it.

"Yes, beautiful," he chuckled a little, grabbing a small salad to add to his meal. "Thank you," he said when she called him handsome, his parents treatment of him had caused him to sometimes look down on himself.

A part of him wanted to stay, talk to the girls, dating was closely watched back home, different from what he had heard about dating here. Giving the girls one more glance, who he admitted were attractive, he flowed his sister to the table. "You...uh...you didn't have to do that," he said as he sat across from her, "they were just being friendly."

He took a bite of his food, "you said I could make friends." Chewing his food, he thought in silence for a moment, "and...maybe I could date," he glanced back at the girl for a second, his blush having never faded. "Maybe not them..but...surely there's a nice girl who might put up with me."

Johanna seats herself at the table and lays her tray out in front of her. Before she even touches her food, she lowers her head and brings her hands up to pray. She mutters a quite prayer to herself, thanking the lord for her meal and ending her little ritual with "Ahem". Now finished, she looked up to her brother and gives him an emotionless stare.

"Friendly? Or flirtatious? They look upon you with ogling eyes, which should already tell you that look upon you with lust. It is best to avoid those types whom give you such stares. They could be succubi for all we know." calmly retorted Johanna, disapproving there were women already eyeing her brother in such a manner. Knowing how sweet and naive her brother could be, it was clear to her that she was going to have to be extra vigilant with him. To have some demon whisk him away under he nose would be abdominal.

"Your welcome to make friends Hadrian." spoke Johanna as she brought her spoon to her lips and gingerly sipping her soup. Then she resumes "And... even go on a date... but whatever relationships you make can not be built on a foundation of attraction and lust. Such things are sinful and unlasting. I can't have you become victim to some whore seeking to corrupt you."

Johanna puts down her spoon and let out sigh, giving her brother somewhat worried expression.

"I'm sure there is nice, morally upstanding women here would absolutely adore you... in fact I know there are. Just... take these exploratory relationships slow. I don't wish my precious younger brother to get hurt with some girl with fickle heart."

"I mean...," he took a sip of his drink, "lust I get, but isn't attraction normal?" sighing he rested his cheek on his hand. "There's different forms of attraction, attraction to personality, and liking how someone looks can't really be all bad," he took a bite of his food. "Like I called you beautiful, so I like how you look, but that wasn't bad," he looked at her with his golden eyes.

"Yeah, maybe I'll find someone...," he pushed his tray to the side, finding his appetite gone, "not like the girls back home were interested." They'd always been to intimidated by their parents or completely uninterested in what many viewed as a failed warrior angel in training, so dating of any form never happened.

His eyes lost of bit of the shine they'd previously had, he missed their home, but this place seemed to have so much to offer. Hadrian took a sip of his soda, but didn't touch his food.

"Of course... when I said attraction, I meant purely physical attraction. Judging by their glances... I do not believe them to be looking to you for your personality. As your older sister... I only want the best for you. So forgive me if I expect high standards." Johanna confided... which was true to an extent. She believed that if her brother deserved anyone, it was only the best person that he should be seeing. Preferably one that shared all of their core values. If she were not her older sibling... then it would be her asking him on date as she knows that is everything her brother ever deserved. But... as his sister, well its up to her to see to that his suitors are up to snuff. God help her if her brother settles for criminal, a prostitute, or worst of all... an atheist.

"Don't be so disheveled Hadrian... in this world I am sure we can find someone who is suitable. And if not... well... you have me at the very least." Johanna then looks to his food, then looks to back up to Hadrian. She catches on that he feeling glum, perhaps homesick. It always pains her to see her brother appear so sullen as she is more used to him being more cheerful and bright in his demeanor.

"Prehaps we should shift our conversation to another topic. I think we spoke enough of... dating and whatnot. How are you finding the academy so far?"

Smiling, he reached out and gently took his hand in hers and gently squeezed it, "can't really see doing any of it without you." All they had was each other, and he'd always stay by her side.

He nodded, "I'm liking it," he was enjoying the school, the opportunities it offered, "with exams on I can't really join classes yet, but I've talked to some of the teachers." Hadrian took a sip of his soda, "I...I didn't sign up for any combat classes or anything, but I'm excited for the classes I am joining."

"I heard the school has some," his eyes were shinning with a bit of excitement now, "I thought I might take a look at them, maybe join a few." He'd seem the Demonic Student Union, and though he wouldn't say it, he was a little curious about it. "They could be fun, interesting at least."
