The Fashion Club was going to have a fashion show for the festival. They had the auditorium to do this. Mochi was sure Izzy was ecstatic, but she also knew that there was work to be done. She was concerned since she had five different clubs she was apart of. She knew that she would also be performing today with the other idols. She had been training for this day. She was even practicing the dance steps as Jouka hung up streamers for the show. The place needed to be decorated.

The girl felt her nerves kicking in as she was running through the steps in her head. She mouthed the words as she moved. She was still in her normal school clothes. She hadn't changed into her outfit yet. She was somewhat tense as she went through each step. The hair noticed and frowned as he paused for a moment.

"You'll be fine, Momo. Don't worry about it."

"But what if I mess up? What if I forget the words? What if I end up in the wrong spot? What if during one move I go for it and then I go and I tri--"

She suddenly DID trip over one of the decoration boxes. The tendrils quickly moved to balance her before she could fall flat on her face. The futakuchi-onna hung in that position and sighed.

"You're worrying about it too much. Right now we need to get these decorations going. Speaking of which, where's the others?"

According to Newton's first law of motion, "An object at rest stays at rest." That was why, up until this point in his school life, Lei opted to be that object at rest staying at rest. And why not? Lei had enough things stressing him out. He didn't need more shit adding to that pile.

But he supposed sitting around on his bed in a dark room watching Netflix wasn't any better. Izzy was right when she told him to join her club. Doesn't mean he couldn't stop grouching about it.

He entered the auditorium with a box full of streamers, paper mache decoraction and a backpack full of clothes they decided that they were going to use for the runway. The auditorium seemed... mostly empty, save for Mochi.

Mochi. Lei didn't know what to think of her, really. She was a nice enough girl but her existence was exhausting. He watched her dance around for a bit and he suddenly felt greatly, inexplicably tired of life and afterlife, as if she was getting the energy to do what she was doing by sucking the life out of Lei or something. Lei placed the stuff on the catwalk. Where was Izzy when he needed her?

"Hey," he said, rather gruffly. "I got some stuff here we should put up. What's with the dancing?"

Mochi got back on her feet just as she heard Lei's words. Ah yeah, Lei. She wasn't exactly friends with him yet. They were in the same club, but for some reason he was uneasy around her. Did he just not like strangers? Did he find her annoying? She had no idea, but she was going to attempt to befriend the guy anyway. She waved at him and moved over closer. Jouka automatically reached for the boxes and opened them to shuffle through the decorations as she spoke.

"Hey! I'm also apart of the idol club. We have a performance during the festival, so I'm trying to practice while Jouka hangs up the decorations."

She was the opposite of Lei; she had a lot of energy and a lot of clubs. However, the amount of clubs were taking a toll on her psyche. Her words were cheerful, but there was clearly some exhaustion in her voice. One hair tendril rubbed the girl's shoulder comfortingly. Another waved at Lei.

"Hey Lei. Momo, you should just chill. Stop practicing the routine for a while."

Momo sighed dejectedly. He was right. She needed a break. She rubbed her eyes as she took a bunch of decorations.

"Any idea where Izzy is?"

Lei watched Mochi's... hair tentacles open up the box and begin working. First thought: Ew. Weird as hell. Second thought: Wow, Lei, they're helping you and you're judging, good going, asswipe. He had a whole plethora of questions, mostly about hair stomachs, but for once in his life he decided to kept his trap shut because that would be rude as all hell. Lei picked up some streamers too, carefully climbing up a ladder to put them up.

"Idol club is that... girl band thing, right? Like Spice Girls and that popular Korean stuff? Isn't that kind of hard?"

At the question of Izzy, Lei gave Mochi a flat look and snorted. "Oh, you know Izzy. She likes to get swept away with the next shiny thing sees. I'm sure she'll pop up later having torn the school in half and still be completely apologetic," he said with a fond tone. He wasn't mad at all, really. His friends had larger than life personalities and focused more on the big picture, and Lei was content being in the background and doing the drudge work, like right now. He shrugged. "It's you and me for now. I guess."

Mochi also climbed a different ladder to put them up, but thankfully the process was shorter because of Jouka being able to hang so many at once. Her hair was useful for situations like these. As she did this, she made sure to keep paying attention to the conversation. It took her mind off of everything else waiting for her. It also kept her awake; how much sleep did she get anyway? She couldn't remember.

"Yep! Though it also accepts boys. They have their own group, but the genders do sometimes perform together. It's difficult but fun. I mostly have trouble with the singing. I'm an experienced dancer, so the dance routines aren't hard for me."

The girl noticed Lei's expression and didn't quite understand it. She wasn't fully familiar with Izzy yet. When he explained that she was easily distracted, then she smiled and nodded. Jouka was bemused to learn this.

"Sounds fun. Of course having me helps as well."

The futakuchi-onna steadily stepped down the ladder to then grab more streamers. Her quick pace allowed the task to breeze by. She stifled a yawn.

"Are you involved in any other clubs?"

Midway to setting up the wall decorations, Lei watched Mochi's hair's masterful setting up and whistled. "Must be useful. I'd trade my powers for fancy hair any day." Of course, there was nothing bad about his powers. He just sucked major goblin wieners with them.

Lei snorted at the sudden interjection from Mochi's hair. "Who could forget you, Jouka, you absolute stud?"

Lei pinned up everything he could and nodded. "Yeah. Just steak buddies with you and Yuki, though —" Lei slowly descended the ladder. Like usual, whatever supreme forces out there raised their middle finger to him and made him slip one of the steps. Lei, having possessed the grace and reflexes of an inebriated lemur, couldn't grab the side of the ladder. He was sent crashing down with a loud scream that echoed within the ballroom.

"There are a few inconveniences with having hair like this, but I'm pretty content with being a futakuchi-onna."

Jouka stopped to flex at Lei. Mochi chuckled as he showed off his strong, hairy "arms". Lei was a pretty cool person. The hair finished putting up the decorations that it was carrying, and the girl no longer had any others in her hands. She carefully climbed down the ladder and walked over to the box.

"You know it!"

However, just as she was about to grab more decorations, she heard a scream. The young woman turned her head to see her friend spiraling down from the ladder. Her eyes widen with horror. Instantly her hair stretched out to catch Lei. It would drop everything it was holding to act like one of those nets they used to assure a person landed safely. The unlucky guy would soon feel soft, silky locks instead of the hard ground of the stage.

"Are you okay?!"

He was held at a height where if he rolled off her hair, it would be like he stumbled out of bed. That was preferable to crashing on the ground from the top of a ladder.

Lei gripped the hair tightly in a fashion very much like a frazzled cat. He was the absolute last person that could stand being shaken up like that — he kind of hated it, being so goddamn delicate — that he stumbled on the wooden floor of the stage with an ungraceful thump.

"I-I'm still alive..." he said, surprised. "I'm gonna kiss your hair in the face."

Lei sat up.

You know what?

Mochi wasn't that bad. He rubbed the back of his shoulder, giving the decoration box a small kick. That'll teach it. "I don't know about you, but that near death experience gave me a hankering for a turkey sandwich. Do you want to get a bite to eat before we continue?"

Jouka didn't mind Lei's tight grip. He could understand why the guy would do so; he'd be gripping on tightly too if he nearly fell to his death. In fact, it made him smirk a bit. Meanwhile Mochi let out a sigh of relief. She was grateful that her fellow club member was unharmed. The last thing she wanted was for her new friend to suffer an injury or worse. The girl was still adapting to her hair powers; after all, she had only been a futakuchi-onna for about a year. It recoiled once Lei was safely off the hair net.

"Sure, we can totally grab a bite to eat!"

"And feel free to give me that kiss anytime, kid!"

Jouka snickered at the thought of kissing Lei. He wasn't sure if that was actually going to happen or not. The youkai stepped closer and examined her partner visually to make sure he was okay. She did giggle a bit at how he kicked the box though. Mochi was fortunate since if that had been her, Jouka would've just outright grabbed the ladder and kept her steady. It was useful having a hair guardian.

Lei gave Mochi a pat on the back and led them out of the dark Ballroom and into the bright outside. The way the sun shone directly at his face only reminded Lei that he really wanted to fight the sun one on one, just you and him pal.

"Ok, first off, I'm taking Jouka out to dinner one of these days. You know the Gilded Obsidian? It'll be high class dining. Just the two of us, pal." He snickered. "Second of all, Mochi, how many clubs are you even in?"
