Y'Isha arrived to Earth just a bit earlier. The trip was uneventful and not worthy of mentioning beyond the fact that it happened. She spent the time looking through whatever data the Izgeldur had on Earth and researching as best as she could. Unfortunately, no one had really taken a prolonged trip to Earth before, so there was little in the way of findings. A lot of the knowledge listed was either second-hand accounts or what one could observe just by looking at the planet. Then again, this would prove favorable to her. That put her in the role of a pioneer, and pioneers won favor with the council.

Thanks to the change of gravity, she suddenly felt heavier. She tried walking normally, but her strut was directly affected by the increased gravity. She felt somewhat shaky and unsteady as she left the ship. Maybe she shouldn't have worn heels in her human disguise. The device issued to her before she left was in use and active. To everyone that could see her, she just looked like a white-haired human girl with a weird walk. With every step, she wondered if she would fall down. That wouldn't do at all; she refused to accept a scenario where she could instantly embarrass herself in front of the ambassador and confederation leader.

With some effort, she made it to the cafe and now had a relatively normal gait. It still seemed a bit off; it gave the impression that she was a woman bad at walking in heels. The heat of this planet was bothering her as well. It was so much hotter here than Icarus! She wondered if the inhabitants here would simply freeze to death on her home planet. Those thoughts were neither here or there as she searched for the ambassador. Hopefully this elegant blue summer dress and these heeled, pointy leather boots were dressy enough to see them in.

Kai's life was an awful lot of conflicting emotions. There was nothing easy or simple about it. Something as simple as looking at a carton of milk left him with a swirl of mixed emotions--familiarity, because he'd been getting cartons of milk all his life--and also a complete lack of recognition. Everything on earth was new to Hokuikekai.

At the same time, the opposite was also true. Things that seemed strange and alarming to Kai were routine enough that Hoku didn't even blink.

Things like meeting up with alien ambassadors, for example.

Kai really didn't know what to expect. 'Alien ambassador' was so vague and unclear that he could have been meeting anything from a jelly blob to a totally normal human.

So sitting at the cafe, waiting for someone to arrive was... uncomfortable. Every single person who peeked in left him wondering if he was looking at the right person.

For most, there was no flicker of recognition. A few, he felt familiarity--not his own, but familiarity none the less.

But there was no recognition when a strange girl stepped in, walking awkwardly. It wasn't until she stepped into the cafe proper that Kai took a guess.

Is that her?

It was a firm maybe. Hoku obviously didn't know what he was looking for any more than Kai did.
