Having nearly forgotten to dress himself before leaving his shared dorm and needing to be reminded in his excitement, Ahstonik was now on his way toward the forbidden forest where according to rumor, treasure lay. He wasn’t on his own however, as riding along with him, or on top of him rather, was his former source of annoyance and young master, Aloys. No, he was not giving the archduke a piggy back ride all the way across campus but taking to the skies via his dragon form instead. This way was much quicker and with Ahstonik’s impatience and anticipation for the possibility of finding treasure, it was the obvious choice of travel…even if it meant taking along a passenger. The fly there, although rushed, wasn’t a dangerous one as he was very aware of the passenger he was bringing along and was sure to put effort into keeping himself steady and not to get caught in a large gust of wind. After all, he was only still a child compared to the age a dragon could live up to and with that young age and his own inexperience, came difficulty in flying and controlling those overly large wings of his.
The landing however, was a little more on the rough side, as he practically skid across the ground, groping for dirt, bushes and trees to use as a break. Luckily he managed to stop himself from colliding with the rock wall of a slopping hill and came to a halt just before it. Shaking his head a bit after that, he righted himself before folding his wings in such a way that Aloys would still have plenty of room upon his back without them getting in the way. They didn’t stay completely grounded for too long as something in the near distance seemed to catch the dragon’s eye and he was immediately taking off to investigate. Little did the dragon know, his half run, half attempted flight through the forest; slipping against the ground underneath him, weaving in and out of trees had knocked his companion off his back and he was making the rest of the miniature voyage on his own.
Down from a small hill at the edge of the Forbidden Forest and not far from where he had initially landed, hoped the aforementioned dragon seeking out a certain bright light. Being only a very young dragon, Ahstonik’s true form was quite small and obviously juvenile, though could still be seen as menacing, if not the complete opposite. With limbs he hadn’t quite grown into yet, his gate was a bit awkward and he nearly tripped coming down from the hill. Though his scales which were a mix of deep red and black, as well as the fur draping down from his head to his mid back made him easier to blend into the darkness surrounding him, his eyes shown like bright beacons and his clumsiness made his appearance very obvious. Upon catching sight of the students standing around the general area of whatever it was that had grabbed his attention and caused his sudden taking off through the forest, he paused. He stood there for a moment, those deep golden eyes of his which appeared red at the right angle, wandered over them before they landed on the very item in question.
It was a light that had stricken his interest from afar as it nearly mimicked the gleam of something valuable and indeed, it turned out to be something interesting. His eyes narrowed down on his target, completely ignoring the small creature holding it as he stalked forward a few steps, much like a predator to its prey. After a few careful steps, he outright went in for attack and snatched the lamp from the goblin’s hand before scrambling a few feet away to further investigate this shiny object.
