Dustin was very excited, he had discovered to "appear" in a puff of smoke. It was basically a diversion and distraction so he could move from one place to another as if he teleported. The best thing about the parlor trick was that his magic made the smoke cling around him until he stepped out and became visible. Obviously his mom had to be the first one to witness his latest trick. He had to of course find her first. He checked in her room and then found her in the living room.

He ran back to his room and grabbed his desk of cards and back pack. It was going to be the best first day of school ever. He put his supplies and his back pack, his magician hat on his head and is "magic wand" it was mostly for show. He found the actual fake stage magician fascinating. His amulet was on his neck, he contemplated turning it but thought it would be awesome as a Sun the first day.

His mom was still sitting in the living room it was perfect. "INTRODUCING THE AMAZING AND MAGICAL" Dustin threw a smoke pellet he had bought and stepped through. "Dustin the magnificent!" He said smiling with his arms wide in a flashy manor. He had his backpack on and his schools were wrinkle free and neat.

"How was that for an entrance?" He asked his no visibly excited.

Lyndis was sitting on the couch reading a novel to herself. Something of a romantic novel that she was lost in. Enjoying each page. She was happy moving to Manta Carlos with her son. Even though she spent as much time as possible trying to meet her brother again. She was happy that she could stop moving around. Giving a life to Dustin that he deserved. To actually have a home for him that she could provide.

She knew Dustin had a knack for theatrical magic. Sleight of hand with the help of his magic but she enjoyed it because he was really good with it. She always enjoyed his tricks. Even if she over the years learned his secrets. Knowing that he was her son. Like every Octavius in her family..

Was a powerful Wizard. Her little Wizard..

She heard a 'psssst' as she saw smoke. hoping that the smoke alarms wouldn't go off as she listened. Putting down the book as she watched Dustin come out the smoke. Clapping as she had a bright smile on her face.

"It's great Dustie!" She said with a giggle. She was enjoying it so far. "I think you will make lots of friends that way!" She said. Moving her body so she was sitting on the edge of the couch. Awaiting his first trick.

"I can't wait to see your first trick at school sweetie." she said. Awaiting for his first trick of the day. "I see someone is looking forward to school!"

Dustin loved traveling with his mom. He got to see a lot of different places and meet strange people. However the prospect of being able to make friends he'd be able to keep was exciting. He just hoped that the kids at school would like him. When most people on the island had powers it was hard to be special. Which was why one need to have show manship.

Dustin smiled and reached into is pants pocket and pulled out a bouquet of real rose. "For you Ma'am" he said bowing keeping up the appearance of a show. He loved showing his mom his new tricks.

"Okay for latest trick I will attempt to read your mind. I'm gonna show you seven cards and you're gonna think of one real hard and watch what happens" of course he had read about this trick and figured out how to work his magic into it.

He shuffled his deck flashy, his magic shuffling the cards in the air as he pretend to blow his nose. His magic was definitely all for show. The deck of cards landed in his out stretched hand and he picked seven making the rest "disappear" into his pocket.

"Okay so focus on one card and let me know when you're ready" He said showing her the cards.

Lyndis looked at the roses and smiled brighter as she held them close. Smelling them for a moment as she sighed happily. She loved roses. It reminded her of her home. Of her simple life with her aunt and uncle. "Oh Dustie.." She said as she wiped some tears away. She knew even if was part of his act. She loved it and loved her son.

"Oh? A card?" She said. Grinning a bit. Looking at each card as she thought about the Ace of Spades. One of her favorite cards. She closed her eyes thinking of the card for a moment. Still smelling the roses as she got up from the couch to put the roses into a vase. putting some water into it from the sink as she looked at it. Realizing how lucky she was to have such a thoughtful kid.

Putting the vase on the coffee table as she picked up her cup of tea. Taking a quick sip before nodding her head.

"Okay. I'm ready dear." She said. Grinning a bit. Awaiting for him to see if he could read her mind of the card that she picked. Or if it was something else.

Dustin smiled it had taken him a while to figure out how to get roses to appear inside of daisy but he had figured it out. Of course his room looked like a flower shop for a few days. He was used to doing tricks for his mom, it had been just them his whole life. He handed her a handkerchief which he pulled pulled from his hat after showimg her it was empty.

He waited for her okay and then closed. Shuffled the cards again, this time only the seven He had originally concentrating on the card she was thinking of. He then showed he showed her the seven cards. "Do you see your card?" He asked notably the seven cards were there but where the ace of spades should be there was a blank card.

She took the handkerchief as she wiped the tears away. She was really moved by the roses as she was impressed with how far he was coming. He was going to be a good wizard.. Use his powers for laughs. To help people enjoy life.

Though she was curious why his room would look like a flower shop here and there. It was curious of why, but now she saw the reasoning behind it. She was still impressed. Sitting on the edge of her seat in her penthouse suite as she rubbed her chin. Looking at the cards as she realized.. It was the same hand. Just the Ace of Spades was blank.

She looked at it for a moment. The card..

Blank?

She gave it some thought.

"Umm.. Well.. My card isn't there sweetie.."

Dustin honestly didn't know if his tricks were gonna work until he tried them. He could practice on a decoy only so much but they thought like him. It was easier to guess what they were gonna choose. He frowned and confusingly looked at the seven cards.

"Hmmm your right it seems like your card is missing" He looked in his hat and his pocket and then snapped his fingers. He then reached behind his mom's ear an pulled out a card and looked at it and then showed it to her.

"Was your card the Ace of Spades?" He smiled brightly at her, hoping that the trick worked. It was kind of hard to get card behind her ear but his magic helped a lot.

Lyndis' smile turned into a bit of a frown when he card wasn't there. The trick seemed amazing to start.. Seeing him reach behind his head she moved her head a bit to assist him. As well as leaning forward a bit. Giggling lightly as she looked at the card.

He pulled out the ace of spade. She nodded her head twice slowly. "You got it sweetie! That was a great! did you have anymore darling~? I am sure you might want to do some more before I take you to school right?" She said. Taking a moment to rummage through her purse. Pulling out her phone to take a quick picture of Dustin with her card.

It was something special today.. Dustin was full of life as well as starting his first day of school. She was so pleased about it all. Seems like most of the homeschooling she did with him seemed to have payed off since he was accepted and excelled in school.

Like herself. He really was his mothers kid.

Dustin smiled and that card to disappeared ... right into his pocket. In another puff of smoke his fake magic wand appeared... from his backpack where he had put it. It was always easy to have the props near by. "For my next trick, I shall make things appear!"

He took off his "empty" hat and tipped it upside down. He showed his mom that it was empty and then waved his wand over it. He tipped the rim three times and then a rabbit popped his head out. Pulling out the rabbit he handed it to his mom "please hold him for a second"

He reached down into his had.... all the way down until he was shoulder deep. "Sorry this things a little stubborn" He said chucking, it was all part of his act thought. He pulled out a cage for the rabbit. "Tada!" He said after setting the cage down.

"May I have the rabbit back please, for my next new trick?"

Lyndis watched the card vanish. The smile slowly becoming bigger and bigger on her face as she let out a happy sigh. Enjoying this as she clapped for a small bit. When he took off his hat she tilted her head a bit. Awaiting to see what would appear.

Watching him intently she waited dutifully for the next portion. He put his hand in for a rabbit? He pulled out a rabbit. "Very nice!" She said taking the rabbit and setting it on her lap. Softly petting it. She always did want a pet rabbit... Something cute and adorable..

Looking back at Dustin she looked a little confused as he pulled out a cage. Looking at the bunny she picked it up and handed it to Dustin.

"Be careful dear.." She said. slightly worried but was sure that Dustin knew what he was doing. This was going to be a good trick.
