The Sun, slowly rose on another beautiful day on this island of mystery, a land that even Alex, was not even aware of existed til he encountered this dreaded book. It was a day like all the others to him, since he arrived here, began to learn what the book in fact was, and in turn, what that would mean for him. The dark clouds fought against the bright sun for control of the sky as Alex walked down what he believed to be the main hallway, this school was far too confusing for him, at the moment. He missed those sunny days all too well, but book disliked the heat, and in turn, he was taught, he couldn’t stand it either for the time being, though that might be the rest of his life.

The rest of his life might also be spent on these islands as well, out here in a place near no where else really, it was meant to be this way. He stood blankly in the halls looking a little depressed and discouraged of his current predicament, he couldn’t even really let any of his old friends, even most of his family know where he went. That was the requirement of The Veil, to which Alex was honorable enough to follow it, and also so he didn’t make others lose their life from it. It was almost as much difficult in this school building, to find a way out to him, as it was to find a way out of his situation, it seemed.

"See you later, Bel!" Azucena called out happily, giving her a wave as she closed her locker and watched in fascination how her new best friend and locker buddy moved, almost glide away, through the crowd unaffected by those around her.

Distracted by this and other thoughts like getting to her next class and what Lucan had told her when he read her future. He had seen, a woman saying, family. And to Azu this meant that she probably had family on the island .. maybe. The idea was, for sure, one she desperately wanted to believe, and so, lost in thought and not paying attention, she accidentally bumped into another student as she walked.

"Oh no! I am so sorry!" she gasped, horrified at what she had just done, "I didn't see you there." she rushed to say as she looked him over. "Are you okay?" she asked flushing red, embarrassed that she had walked straight into him.

One would have to agree that it is a bad idea to get lost in your own thoughts in a hallway. One would also agree that you are likely to get bumped into accidentally for doing such a thing. This one person also turned out to be none other, than Alexander Kings, himself, even with such an expectation, he did it nonetheless. The book that was heavy in his hands had landed on the ground, before the two, with a loud thud, it seemed to open up to one page or another, in a language that no else should be able to read besides him. He rubbed his head a little bit, though she never bumped the top of his head in their encounter and then the boy spoke, embarrassed. “No sorry, it was my fault for standing in the path.” As he reached down for his book, looking to pick the heavy tome up once more, despite his lack of strength. Except this time he opened up his backpack and attempted to make the thing fit. But he knew already that it would not fit given the circumstances. He was acting like a fool in front of this girl. Defeated, he zipped up the bag, and lifted up the book once more, making himself look as presentable as he could.

“I am okay, though, just my book that took the fall.” He explained an embarrassing look on his face showed that is what quite possible that he wanted to die from his own day dreaming. “I am Alexander Kings, brand new to this academy.” He decided to finish with, trying to find some way to justify his odd behavior, and even more so, why he might be extremely uncomfortable with the situation that he has caused.

"No, no..." Azucena hurried to say, bending down when he did, wanting to help somehow and glancing at the book he tried to stuff in his backpack, but decided on picking up and carrying instead.

Incorporating herself, Azucena shook her head at his words, "I wasn't paying attention," she explained. "it's not your fault," she said with a friendly but sheepish grin, feeling a bit awkward now.

"I'm Azucena Woods," she said introducing herself when he did, not really surprised he was new since lately, it seemed like there was an influx of new people arriving weekly at the academy.

"Can I help you with anything?" she asked curiously as she took in his appearance that seemed a little overwhelmed by it all.

“Nice to meet you, Azucena.” Were the next words that the spoke as the tension inside of him, died down merely a little. It was true that it was kind of her to offer to help him with his book, but there wasn’t too much that could be done about the dam heavy thing. It seemed that she also blamed herself, as much as he did himself at this point. Which was not going to get them anywhere so long as no one blamed the other party, so for now, he would merely go along with things as they proceeded. Hopefully things were gonna go better than this very rough start of things, it was at this point that he heard and listened to her question, whether he needed help with anything or not. To which he would respond with his small issues for the time being. “I am merely trying to find all of my classes before I am expected to start attending them, but this school with all it’s floors and classes feel like a maze.” That was the most honest he could get with his answer, this school was a labyrinth at its heart, no one could explain it differently to the young high schooler.

“If it’s not too much trouble, any assistance would be appreciated, it seems like I am on my own here.” He added, his loneliness sinking into his words, the lost and embrassed, and overall out of place vibe, never leaving his body. After all, while Azucena looked and appeared nice so far, she was still a stranger to him on this new island life of his. Everyone was a dam stranger, and that was the worst feeling of all, Alex, really missed having someone he could talk to without any worry, but against everyone, all if not most of his inner walls were up.

"Of course, I'd be delighted to," Azucena replied happily, her face lighting up when he accepted her offer to help him out. Azucena was, in nothing else, sympathetic to others and their needs. Growing up around people and beings from everywhere imaginable had brought out her need to comfort and make people feel accepted. She knew what it was being an outsider, she was one of the few on the island with no magical or special abilities or talents, she was woefully inadequate in many ways. But knowing this, and accepting it early on in life had made her more sympathetic to others and with a need to help out if she could.

"What classes do you have and with whom?" she asked him, now gently taking control of the situation and deciding to assist him as much as she could.

It felt slightly nice to be helped, and to see the smile of Azucena, when she responded that she could help him with getting to his classes, to which he reached for a paper in his pocket. Upon getting the paper and unfolding it, if Azucena saw it at all, she would recognize it as a list of classes, along with the other info needed to be provided with them. It was around this time that Azucena asked what classes did he have and with whom, to which he needed the paper. Then Alex, would move his hand over the paper and begin to speak when he found the one that he was on. “I am currently looking for the classroom for Ms. Daidel teaching Multi-Dimemsional Theory, this will also be my home room class.” He explained to Azucena.

Continuing on he would begin to list the classes and names. “Ancient Mythology, Mr. Sinterklaas. Physics, Dr. Li Jia An. History, Mr. Paragon.” That was the four classes that he was started with, and would help him to work his way in with cultural studies to learn about the island, which he was made aware, of where those were. Hopefully this wasn’t too much for Azucena, and she was able to help as best as he can. “Thank you, you are quite kind.” He said, still a little embarrassed. Perhaps it was for a better date, that they ran into each other.

Azucena tucked a piece of long dark hair behind her ear as she watched Alexander pull out a piece of paper. It looked like it was a list of class schedules that they generally handed out to students at the beginning of the school year. She had hers pinned to the mirror in her bedroom where she couldn't miss it.

"Mr. Sinterklaas and Miss Daidel, they generally share a classroom," she remarked thoughtfully, trying to situate herself, "Miss Jai an is new, but I think her class is across campus near the science labs. And Mr. Paragon... he's just down the hall and to the left," she said making some hand motions to show him what she meant.

It was at least interesting to watch Azucena put all of the pieces of the puzzle together in front of him. She described the various things that she knew about each of the teacher’s rooms respectively, which was quite helpful in his mind. Keeping this all in mind, Alex searches for a pen or pencil of some sort from his bag or pockets. With such an endeavor, he had managed to find at least one pen, new and pristine in condition. He was now able to write down the notes of everything that she had mentioned to him, the notes might have been small, but nonetheless helpful. It was after this point that he would make clear the final things that he needed be made clear of, after all it would be used in his studies. “Do you know the way to the high school library, or are they all just one big library?” He asked wondering, how this school functioned with all the grades, it had.

So far, at least at lot of the embarrassment was starting to wash away from him, a little bit more comfortable with the situation at hand. Hopefully most of his other encounters with students won’t be this troublesome, or embarrassing for him. He would after all, be spending a long time, here in these all and then perhaps even more so along with the same kind of people, through college til he graduated from both. All of this ran though his mind quickly, and all of it quite, unfortunate circumstances.

"I can take you to the library if you want?" Azucena offered shyly as she swung her book bag over her shoulder - this time looking around her to make sure nobody was coming or within distance of getting hurt by her clutziness.

"There's a book I need for my home economics class. It's a recipe book, I think. Or an instructions manual on how to make something called, a gingerbread house," she told him. "I might want to make one for Christmas for my family," she explained as she shifted her weight from one leg to the other.
