“That would be great!” He responded happily that he would be shown somewhere that was in his checklist of places, to know where to go. It was however another interesting that got to cross his mind though as she said that she was going to be looking for a book that was for crafting a gingerbread house. Alex, himself questioned that the purpose of Christmas on this island was likely just meant to represent, a time of sharing and giving. But with all that he could guess away at, he might actually meet a Santa Claus of all things, it wouldn’t be too far off to claim flying reindeer either. But these truly, were thoughts for next month, for now he had to settle for thanksgiving, if this island celebrated it, turkey dinner and gathering.

Alexander decided to follow suit in preparation for following Azucena, by shifting his backpack around to be supported by both of his arms, while the book, was supported by his left side. “Whenever you are ready to lead the way.” He stated, with a small smile. He had a small hope that things would continue like this for the rest of the day, a hope is all he could ask for.

"Really?! Oh, that's great," Azucena remarked surprised and happy when he accepted her invitation quite readily. She wasn't sure if he would or not, so when he did without a fuss, Azucena was ecstatic.

"This way...' she pointed down the hall. "The library is across the campus, there is even a store there where you can buy stuff like pens, pencils, highlighters... anything you might need really for class," she informed them as they walked down the hallway, past some lockers and then turned into an inner foyer area.

"Is this your first day?" she asked with interested as the walked together towards the library.

It seemed like after he accepted the invitation of Azucena’s to go to the library both of them were now on the right foot of some sorts. Rather it be that way than, say, bumping into more people in the halls, or standing in the middle of said hallway. He was able to follow her lead without worry, thanks to the way she presented the directions to him. He would still follow as best, as he could do, even with this book weighing him down for all that it was worth. Hearing about the supply store, that she mentioned, he smiled a little more knowing some of the things that he had back at his home school were still here, to which he responded. “It must be quite nice having a school supply store so close-by.”

Then as they were now, well on their way, it seemed, Azucena asked him if this was his first day, to which he had yet another response, thankfully. “This is indeed my first day of classes, only the very basics, to help me better understand this island, is all.” He explained, briefly. At this point they certainly were as close to walking side by side as they could since, Azucena still needed to lead the way, but it was still a nice feeling inside for Alex, to be able to talk to a person after all he has been through.

"It is nice, especially since I am forever losing my school supplies," she told him, "last semester, it was my erasers, this one, it seems like every time I turn around, my drawing pencil has disappeared," she told him as they walked through a small crowd of students, Azu being careful not to hit anyone with her bookbag.

"I am beginning to seriously wonder if there is a creature that eats school supplies or has an obsession with erasers and pencils," she said quite seriously. She knew that on Manta Carlos, something like that wouldn't be as odd as it seemed and so began to think that it was entirely possible.

As they walked together, Azucena slowed her pace a bit so Alexander could walk besides her if he wanted to. "First days are always a bit awkward," she said giving him a sympathetic look, completely understanding the overwhelming nature of the Academy and of getting to know new people. "luckily you don't have too many classes today," she remarked, now remembering his schedules and that today hadn't been too bad for classes.

A smile can sometimes be the greatest source of healing a person made sad, though, Alex became a little discouraged by the crowd that they were now passing through. He did he best not to bump into anyone, or even worse, accidentally hit them with the heavy book that he had to constantly carry with him. There was no part of his plan to drop it on the ground either, but, thankfully they made there way back to an open hallway, somehow. Thankfully, Alex was able to laugh a little now at their progress and what Azucena explained she had to go through with losing school supplies during the year. Even going so far to joke about a creature that possibly ate the darn things, which he hoped at the very least, that was merely a punchline and not a statement he should watch out for. “They must be native to schools, cause I swear it’s happened to me as well!” He explained with a little bit of a remaining laughter to follow up on what she said.

It seemed though that he wouldn’t have to follow as much anymore as he took the hint by her slowing down that she wanted him to walk beside her, which he had no problems with, at the moment. She seemed to have flipped back to the real subject at hand, after some light-hearted ness. He truly felt relieved at the fact that this day was almost over, and there was at least one person here, he could talk about how this first day, has made him felt. “Yeah thankfully there were kind to me with my schedule, and thankfully, to some degree, this school is kind to new arrivals.” He replied, to her. “Though, I am curious a little, how has it felt to be part of this school of constant additions since day one? I am certain, a lot more have been added rather than subtracted from the class.” He asked with one of his eager traits showing itself. Alex would have to wait to see what kind of answer he would get.

"It's, well... " Azucena started to answer, then stopped to think about his question better. "It's interesting," she told Alex as they walked towards the library which was about twenty meters away, "I mean, it's great getting to know about others and their cultures, and all their crazy abilities. However, when there are four or five or six new people in a week, or even a month, sometimes it's almost like too much," she admitted sheepishly.

"Not in a bad way, not really... but when there are so many new people, you feel like trying to get to know all of them is really hard. I kind of feel bad, you know...." Azucena told Alex, hoping he didn't think too badly of her.

Listening to everything that Azucena had to say for the subject of the question, he would nod his head, he didn’t look disappointed with her at least on the outside, one would say. But then he spoke speaking his perspective on what he had all heard. “It certainly is just difficult for other schools when you add two new kids into the mix, I can only imagine the trouble of adding in ten within the same month.” He explained, with what he felt was understanding. “I am glad I am able to meet different people honestly, it’s also frightening for me as well...” he admitted a bit more quietly. “And a small part of me wishes I could at least explain what happened to all my old friends, but that doesn’t look like it will be any time soon.” He finished with and a sigh of disappointment as his attitude shifted back to a bit more neutral, reminded of his struggles inside.

Optimism was not always his strong suit, when it came to himself, and his curiosity can certainly backfire on himself. He would continue walking with Azucena, but he wasn’t really sure what else to say or ask to her for the time being.

"Hey, it's okay to feel frightened, or wish things were different," Azucena reasoned gently as she turned to Alex as te walked. She definitely knew what being scared a lot of the time was like. She spent a good amount of her time worrying if someone might use their abilities on her, even just jokingly, and she wouldn't be able to defend herself.

"I also know what it's like to feel scared a lot of the time," she told him quietly, as she looked down at her shoes as they walked, just kinda wanting him to feel better, to know that he wasn't the only one here at the academy that was unsure of themselves sometimes.

"And it is okay to miss your friends... I do," she added with an understanding look. "You see... Lots of people come and go on the island. I have had good friends go back home to their dimensions and I'll never see them again either..." she told him with a sad smile.

Alex always thought to himself a lot, he was after all a very passive person, a person that would stick to the background if he could. This background however, was far too different for him to simply sink in to. The answers that Azucena provided were valid points, they were okay to feel, but they will be something that would come and go at this academy. He pondered how difficult it is to realize that this place is highly unstable in how the people on it experience others, one day they are, another they might not come around any longer. Added with the fact that there are so many more things here, that are by far, more dangerous than mankind itself. Alex knows the secrets of the book that he carries, but once again, they are only dangerous for him, but they do provide escapes.

“Thank for sharing that with me, I has been difficult for myself to process and share all these emotions.” He explained to Azucena. Alex, had to wonder to himself how much further did they have to go for the library, but he really didn’t mind too much. “I know a lot of my problems are with my lack of understanding or misunderstandings of what’s now around me. So hopefully, the library can grant me a little bit of insight.” This was what he decided to go with as he gazed onward a bit, resolved a little better than his start, certainly.

"You're welcome, and it's fine, you're gonna be fine," she said as she gave Alex a tiny smile, "the island can just be overwhelming at first," she told him."In fact, I think most new people feel like you do to some extent. Give it time. You just got here not that long ago."

Finally, they came to the school library, and here Azucena pulled open the double doors with both hands to reveal a huge space with rows upon rows of books, floor to ceiling. "Voila.. the library," she stated with a grin as she moved to one side to let Alex enter if he wanted to.
