Shay didn't usually hang out with Nico or Mei, but she figured she might as well be well acquainted with all members of her gang. She knew Alice and Theo well, spent plenty of time with them together and with Alice alone. She'd studied with Kaiser, and lived with Addy and Sherry. She had to devote more time to Mei and Nico.

The older she got, the more she realized she was never one thing, never one side of an extreme. She danced between both and played with whichever suited her more that day. With that in mind, today, Shay had a course of action, and she thought it was exciting. Hopefully, her friends would feel the same way.

She'd texted Nico and Mei, requesting they meet her by some bookstore in the city by five PM. When Shay had arrived, her phone read 4:45 PM on the dot. She carried with her a rucksack, stuffed full of art equipment, including paintbrushes, paint, spraypaint, and a series of various stencils. Beyond the art equipment, Shay had brought a camera and three aprons.

She loitered around the entrance of the bookstore, keeping an eye out for the other two kids. Shay was antsy, fingers trembling with barely contained enthusiasm.

Mei wasn't the type of person that ever stayed in place to long. In fact she was probably the worst one to expect to be on time, or to follow through with something most of the time. That pretty much changed when it came to the few friends she had. At first it had just been Kaiser and Alice, and then Shay came along and brought two other people with her. She didn't have that back in her dimension or time period. She was slowly starting to love the one she had landed in but that didn't make her any less better about not being home. It made her realize how empty her life was back home, and maybe she was a bit bitter about that too.

When she had gotten the text she had left the library around 4:50, no need for her friends to know that she spent half of her time studying. She donned her ever present leather jacket and walked downtown to the bookstore. She wasn't allowed to go into the bookstore, to after she had knocked down a few of the displays...accidentally on purpose. She was pretty sure everyone should've know to never let a bored Mei browse your shop...it was all an honest accident. At least that's the story she was telling all the adults.

"Shay! Sup?" She asked leaning against the side window of the store. She didn't even know what she was supposed to be meeting Shay for. She figured something was wrong, or that more people were coming. She didn't really do the whole one on one hangout thing with Shay...or really anyone other than Kaiser. She didn't like people seeing past the troublemaking person she was known for being.

Nico's day so far had been like a mini adventure before he got Shay's text. There was chasing of the squirrels all around the island and there was also lot's of candy involved. He was hyped up on way too much sugar for his own good which is bad.
When he got the text he was the hypest he could be so he ran. Yes kitty Nico ran all the way to the bookstore! He arrived at 4:56 PM just all hype and jittery. Then he just as he arrived he tripped and faceplanted into a wall. "Owieee....THAT HURT A LOT!" he stumbled back a bit and readjusted his fedora. "HEY SHAY AND MEI! HOW WAS YOUR GUYS DAAAAAAY?!"

"Hey, Mei!" Shay didn't have a chance to say anything more or feel excited that Mei had shown up before Nico bound up to the two of them, apparently hyper off sweets. Shay laughed and reached out to steady him.

"Glad you both could make it! I figured we all needed to spend a little more time together, get to know each other. I thought up an activity that we might all appreciate. You guys like art, don't you?" She grinned and instead of explaining further motioned them both on to follow her down a side alley to a few backstreets.

Shay took the two to a beaten brick wall between a few old shops, out of sight of the streets and hopefully most adults who would tell on them. She dropped all her art materials on the ground for them to see and picked up red and black spray paint, shaking each can. She looked at her friends and smiled.

"We're going to leave our mark on the city. Something beautiful. Technically illegal, but we're making this place better, I'd say."

Mei followed Shay into the Alley, a part of her was like "perfect way for her to kill us" and the other part was like "what trouble are we getting into." There wasn't very much Mei's mind thought of besides, protecting herself and becoming strong at her magic. She wasn't expecting that Shay would want to deface public property, but she was all for it. She carefully hung her jacket on the edge of whatever clean surface she could find and took a can of spray paint.

"Might as well, something to look back on when we're adults and society has finally turned us into stiffs" she said shrugging her shoulders. She was more of a writer but she was gonna make it work. She started on an empty part of the wall, writing her name in perfect Mandarin. Her drawing might've sucked but she was very good a calligraphy.

Nico looked up at both Shay and Mei and nodded excitedly. He shifted forms and dusted himself off. "Um sorry about that....Greeting ladies~"

He eyed Shay and the art supplies as she spoke still trying to connect the dots. "Yeah I do art is a good way to express oneself after all!" As Shay lead them to the Alley everything clicked. Graffiti. He grinned and placed his hands behind his back. "Leave our mark on the city? I like it."

Nico thought on Mei's words about something to look back at when they were adults as he took a can of white paint. "Something to look back at..." Looking over to see Mei already starting hers Nico checked to see what Shay was doing as he still was lingering on what he wanted to paint.

He shook the can several times and soon started to spray somewhat of a big white circle on the wall...nothing perfect. Nico then took another can of paint this one purple in color. He sprayed around a bit here and there still not even sure what he was doing. "Yeah....This is probably going to turn out horrible for me." he laughed and shook his head.

He liked art it was just that Nico couldn't art at all.

Shay could relax when both Nico and Mei were suitably excited over the idea. Hey, none of them could draw well, so this would be perfect (and probably hilarious). By the time Mei was drawing her name, Shay had started in on a black outline of a rose. Nico had nothing to worry about because Shay was far from a perfect artist.

Shay laughed when Nico did, mirror his good-natured concern. "That's why I brought stencils! Now all we need is some old eighties music, and we'd be in montage mode right about now."

She took a moment to thrust her fists in the air and sway side to side in a comical manner as she called out, "I love rock and roll!"

After creating her black outline, Shay used it to fill the rose in with a dark, crimson red before thickening its black outline. That as stylish, right? "Think this is too on the nose?" she asked both of them with a grin, motioning to her picture.

Mei pulled out her phone and started the eighties music's. After all, go hard or go home. After she was done with her name, she outlined it in different colors. She then went on to draw an awkwardly snapped globe, with a crudely drawn sheep sitting on top. The sheep had a crown and scepter, which were the only things drawn correctly.

"Pfft shay! You're a natural!" She said smirking and go back to her horrible drawings. She picked up a stencil to try and do something somewhat accurate but quickly got bored and started to play tic TAC toe with herself.

"Eeh.... How about something like this?" Nico was doing that thing where you just put paint here and there until it started forming into something which it surprisingly was. He used all the colors available and just went at it.

He stopped for a moment to check on Mei's and Shay's painting. The eighties music was a nice touch to this painting montage. Nick grabbed a another spray can and looked at his mess of colors as the paint was rolling down the wall.

Then he got a perfect idea! He grabbed a stencil that kinda reassembled pointed teeth? And covered the dripping blending rainbow as he applied white paint over it. Soon enough he had the making of a wicked smile with the backdrop of a psychedelic mess.

Stopping once again he looked at What's rose and smiled. "That's great Shay and.." looking over to Mei sheep he snickered. "Queen Sheep beginning her reign of world domination?"

Shay danced out of rhythm with the eighties music. It was all too perfect and carefree. She grinned when she saw what the other two were doing.

"That looks.... like a real mind fuck, Nico. Very appropriate."

Then she turned her attention to Mei and found just several separate images, plus some tic-tac-toe. It looked like typical vandalism. "Well, I can't say all of these aren't representing us."

By the end of it all, Shay was covered in specs of paint and the wall was a mess of imagery. An unconducive art piece at best, but Shay was still proud of it and her friends for having created it.

The girl stepped back to get a view of the whole picture, the pain not even completely dry yet. She placed her hands on her hips and prodded the inside of her cheek with her tongue. "Think we could sell it for millions?"
