Oh good, he could react. The description of his body refusing to follow his orders by staying still was like a horror movie. It caused Nebula to visibly shiver at the idea. She wasn't sure what she would do in that situation. She didn't want to think about being in that situation at all.

But Neon moved on, so Nebula tried to do the same. She wondered who Izumi was, but she decided it wasn't an important question to ask right now. She was more interested in the tricks Neon had to show off.

"O-M-G, that's so cool! It's like looking in a mirror, but better! Unfortunately, you can copy my looks, but you can't copy my great personality." That sort of thinking kept Nebula from becoming offended or annoyed when someone shape-shifted to look at her. They may have gotten her looks down, but there was more to her than just that. They couldn't replicate it all.

"I don't get how you just 'spawned' here. That sounds awfully convenient. Out of all the places to spawn on Earth, you spawned in the place where you wouldn't break the Veil. Er, continue to break the Veil. Your existence in the game must've been very close to that."

"Illusions and transformation are really cool skills, I even kept the ability to enter my room from wherever I want. Although, for some reason it's nothing like the User Room I had in game, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest.", and yes, Neon copied even her voice, "Personality, you are right, I cannot copy. Then again that would leave me more confused than I already am at times."

In a backflip, the illusion was dispelled, and he revealed his real form... The white kitsune with neon accents. "I don't know either, but it is basically that: out of all places in the world I could have spawned, it was here; out of all people I could have first met it so happened to be a tanuki teacher, who I chose to see like a big sister. There's quite an irony towards the whole "tanuki and kitsune rivalry", that a tanuki and a kitsune so happened to become close in bonds like a family, isn't there?", he laughed in amusement at how fate played him, and how he played the tales.

Briefly looking stern, he added: "Ah, the Veil, I have read about it. It is really a good thing I wound up here, else I would be in trouble for something I never knew."

If Neon didn't turn into a white fox and return his voice as quickly as he did, Nebula was going to have trouble keeping the bubbling annoyance rising up inside of her from exploding. She wasn't sure what she would do. Probably yell at him. Honestly, she was never sure what she was going to do when she got really annoyed. It all sort of... happened. And then she usually regretted it.

"That's the fun of the island," she replied with a chuckle. "Tanukis and kitsune becoming friends. Gods and demons dating. It's like that."

But Nebula was more interested in the Veil thing. She wasn't simply pointing out the unlikely coincidence for fun. It was part of a genuine hypothesis she had as to why Neon came here. "Don't you think the scouts brought you here? You said you were wandering the hallways... What hallways? I think there's a good chance you were brought here on purpose."

"I can imagine Gods and Demons dating would be weird. Not impossible, just weird.", and something Neon would probably see happening one day. Anyways, an amusing thought altogether, but soon they were back to a serious subject, to which he only seemed a little aloof, perhaps pensive, before giving his own thoughts: "That already crossed my mind. And I was wandering the school's hallways too. But I haven't had the chance of contacting who brought me here, so I can only wonder."

Ever since the possibility came to mind, he has been wondering if the scout who somehow brought him in here could answer his questions, and he had quite a lot of them too. "Hm... You know me (better than I know myself from the looks of it), but I don't know much of you... What is your name?", while he didn't need to introduce himself, Nebula would need to do so for herself.

"Ah, I'm sure if you went to the administration office they could help with that. The scouts work at the school from what I understand. They must have some information on who brought you in." That seemed like the logical conclusion to her.

Neon brought up a good point, actually. So far, Nebula was leading the conversation. Taking, but not giving. It was about time she spoke some more about herself.

"Moving on, I'm Nebula Sprite of The Perpe—Oh, wait, I already did all of that. Yeah, just Nebula Sprite."

"That completely went over my head when I registered. Then again, I knew nearly nothing of how the island and school here works, so I had more questions than anyone could answer in a short time...", he laid down and scratched behind an ear with his forepaw, amused at his own foolishness.

Neon's tail swished slowly, now he finally knew Nebula's name, but still... "What is the Perpetual Motion Machine exactly? Some sort of self-preservation mechanism, like The Crafter Tower that not only repaired itself but also created every creature in it?", of course he was referring to the game where he had spent his, er... Life in?

A cocky smile spread across Nebula's face. So he didn't think about that option when he first came here, but she did? She was adapting to island life quite well, then. Her smarts were something to be admired.

Unfortunate she couldn't brag about that. Neon wanted to know about her court, something she had to explain all the time. "It's my court. Y'know, fae court. A place a certain group of faeries live. Our court focuses on inspiring humans to work hard, urbanize, and industrialize. We would never have something like The Crafter Tower. For us, that's too easy of a way to get fixed."

"Court... Circle? Group? Guild?", he thought of terms that may be similar for his understanding, "Never heard of though. So the whole Veil thing must have been in effect for quite the while then. But I see why you wouldn't be a fan of The Crafter Tower. To be honest, only time I didn't like that Raid Dungeon was when they added an escort mission there. How does one clean a path for a NPC when the enemies keeps respawning faster than you can protect the NPC?!"

"More like a kingdom or a very large city with many smaller parts to it." She was tempted to use the term "state" but that felt weird for whatever reason. "I think if the Veil wasn't a thing we would still stay hidden. We want humans to work hard. We wouldn't want them seeking us out and making us help them."

Neon's story did manage to get a chuckle out of Nebula. Escort missions were a pain for sure. "But, yeah, escort missions are almost always awful. That one sounds impressively terrible. Bet they were purposely trying to make it hard to force players to keep playing or use their real money to buy upgrades to help them. Seems like nowadays games are too focused on the money than the experienced." A tired, sad look came across her face as she let out a sigh. It was sad helping out those who didn't care at all for bettering their art. All they wanted was to get rich quick.

"Kingdom, eh...", his mind went straight into the idea of a hi-tech floating island, something Neon wanted added into the game but the others GMs thought would be best for an expansion if anything... Something that eventually never happened. "I see, so more of a sort of moral support or inspiration, right?", that was the best he could conclude from Nebula's explanation.

Giving a nod to when she mentioned about "pay to win", he added: "I don't like the idea either, of paying to progress. But the whole idea of the mission was to encourage making a huge party and coordinating it. Hard to do when many do not live in the same area. Most GMs wanted to lower the difficulty a bit by reducing the respawn ratio, but the development team said it wouldn't make sense lore-wise."
