A faint, yet melancholy tune could be heard as it echoed through the halls surrounding the ballroom. Clearly it wasn't loud enough to have attracted attention or be considered the cause of a disturbance, yet it was clear enough for one young fairy boy who was nearby. Hollis skipped down a large corridor happily, he hoped he’d discover the source of the sweet music he heard. It was such beautiful music and Hollis was unable to remember the last time he heard such emotions conveyed through a song. It was hauntingly beautiful and because of that he just had to learn who had created it.

As the chipper young prince approached the ballroom he opened the doors, only to have discovered that the music came from a small boombox. It lay in the center of the room and no apparent owner was within a visible distance. The pinkette walked over to it and crouched down to inspect the small music player, only to see no trace of ownership marked upon it. The short fairy boy shrugged to himself with a smile, after all he’d never been one to ask questions about strange occurrences. He then sat on the ground next to the boombox and closed his eyes. Hollis decided to simply relax and enjoy the sweet melody.

RE: Mysterious Melodies [Open]

Someone had lost their portable stereo somewhere in the Academy, and Lelei had been put on the task of finding it because it was an exceptionally slow day in the Academy. It was slow for Lelei anyway. The students had their normal schedules and goings-on, but this day was strangely lacking in any kind incidents or confrontations that warranted Lelei's attention as a security officer. The fact that the students and the Island were behaving themselves completely for once was not a bad thing by any means, of course. Lelei just had little to do while he was on the clock. So going on a little scavenger hunt was a good way to get up and do something.

The student had given him their schedule to retrace their steps throughout the day, so Lelei was not going about the search entirely blindly. None of the early-day classrooms turned up anything, nor did the lunchrooms. Just when he was starting to get a little worried that someone took it, Lelei's ears picked up the sound of a song playing from mildly-tinny speakers while approaching the next destination: the ballroom. He hurried his pace, peaked in, and found it instantly. It was playing music and some kid was sitting next to it.

Now, Lelei's first instinct was that the kid had taken it. But even if that were true, the stereo was still in the school and he seemed relatively innocent about it, just sitting there and listening to the tune. In fact, everything about the kid was innocent, and soft. Lelei could just feel his head fin grow slightly pink looking at the kid. He had to clear his throat to clear his mind while approaching, trying to look authoritative but respectful.

"Excuse me, sir. Where did you come across that stereo?"
