It was a nice day, one that should not be wasted indoors. Hence why Andrew was walking in the city. Unfortunately, he hadn't been there many times before, and he was a little lost.

Okay, make that a lot lost. He'd just stopped paying attention to where he was going. He turned down a side street, hoping to at least find a place that he had been before. He knew the city wasn't that big. At least he didn't think it was.

The boy turned to look around, wondering if he'd missed something, but he kept walking. And he bumped directly into someone.

It was a very nice day out, especially for March. The ear phones of Adelina's iPod were in her ears, blasting music in so loudly that she could hardly hear anyone else around her, if even hear it at all. She was humming along to the music, desperately wanting to sing. Singing in public would make her look like she was crazy, though, so that was completely out of the question. Maybe she was reckless sometimes, but she was not crazy.

She had gone shopping; it wasn't very often that she did such a thing, but she was in desperate need of high heel shoes. They were wonderful weapons, and she loved how tall and important she felt in them! Oh, high heels were a beautiful, beautiful thing!

Because she hadn't been paying any attention at all, her shoulder hit someone else's. Adelina almost fell over, but she threw the bag in front of her to balance her weight. She spun around in a full circle, ripping the ear phones from her ears and glaring at who she had bumped into.

"You!" she exclaimed in shock when she saw Andrew, her jaw hanging open slightly.

Andrew had been about to start apologizing profusely...then he saw who it was. "You!" He repeated in the exact same tone of voice, though not intentionally. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

He wasn't exactly thrilled to see her, but he wasn't annoyed by it either. Sure, she had her faults (egotistocal, rude, blunt, etc, etc, etc), but she was an okay person, in general.

"What are you doing here?"

Adelina stood up straightly, squaring her shoulders and looking at Andrew with a completely unhappy look on her face. "Shopping." She pointed to the bag that hung around her elbow, clenching her jaw. She was tempted to put those high heels on and kick him, then run away, but that would be terribly immature.

"What about you, Andrew?" Her words were terribly cold and everything was completely formal. This was extremely uncomfortable; her muscles were tense, her words were forced, and it was very hard to keep her cool. Frankly, she didn't care what he was doing there, so long as they weren't going the same way. That would be horrible.

Andrew wasn't at all surprised that she had been shopping. She was seemingly materialistic. Not that shopping was just a bad thing in itself, but she just seemed like the type to spend a ton of money on things that she didn't need just because she could. He told himself to stop being so judgemental. Especially since he just couldn't make up his mind about her. Part of him was intensely annoyed by her, and part was intrigued by her.

He was silent momentarily. He wasn't about to admit that he was lost. "Just walking around. Is that okay, your highness?"

"Just walking around. Is that okay, your highness?"

Great, she hadn't even done anything and he was getting snarky with her. Rolling her eyes, Adelina looked down at her nails. She had time; maybe she could go get a manicure. Such things always calmed her nerves and made her realize just how marvelous life was.

"I don't believe I said it wasn't," she snapped back in a smooth tone of voice, her eyes narrowing as she stared at him. Her eyes scanned his clothes from head to toe; it was a habit she had picked up as a child. "Now do you have something important to say, or are you going to waste my time with worthless blabber?"

Hazelgaard, a particulary whiny old witch, had been taking a nice nap on the side walk of the side street in one side of the city. She did not like to be woken up, but unfortunately she was. By two particularly whiny sounding teenagers.

Andrew was about to snap back at her, but he was interupted just then.

"You two! Over there! Shut up!" Hazelgaard yelled at them, pushing herself up and smoothing down her straw-like hair.

Normally, Andrew was a perfectly kind and polite boy, but he had been frustrated to begin with, and being bothered by Addie, and now this old bag...well...

"Why don't you shut up, you old bat?" He snapped at her.

"You two! Over there! Shut up!"

Adelina did not appreciate being told to shut up. With her eyes wide with anger, she stared at the old woman, her jaw still clenched. Her knuckles became white as her hands turned into fists. Oh, she really wanted to just go and punch that lady! She was a young woman, though, and by now she had learned how to control her anger - for the most part.

"Why don't you shut up, you old bat?"

"That was nice. You should apologize to her. She was only trying to sleep." Adelina rolled her eyes, the tone of her voice as dry as it could ever be. She looked at the woman with a look of distaste; certainly not pretty... certainly not. She looked back at Andrew, shrugging her shoulders. "Or you'll never look like you're nicer than me."

Ooh, a challenge!

Oh. How was he going to pass that up? If he were meaner than her, he was one mean person. He was about to apologize when Hazelgaard jumped up. It seemed strange, someone so old and bent over jumping up so spryly.

"Mirror so reflective, look never away, till the creatures so protective, from the hall move away," She hissed out before waving her hands and motioning towards Andrew. Sure, it wasn't the greatest, but she'd never been good at coming up with snappy curse-phrases.

"Ta ta!" Hazelgaard called, hobbling down the street to find a more peaceful place to sleep.

Adelina's eyebrows raised as the witch spoke, trying to make sense of the words in her head. Well, there went another crazy person. Really, someone should be putting these people away and not letting them out! Rolling her eyes, she turned to look at Andrew, cocking her head to the side.

A thin grin crossed her lips and a soft hum of a laugh came from her throat as she looked at Andrew. "Didn't get to apologize, eh?" she teased. "Ah, well, at least the old lady didn't stab you. That would have been... unfortunate."

Not really.
