Wearing a tux was a strange business. Jett reasoned that suits were fine, but tuxes were... strange. Too adult and put together for a man like him. His hair was smoothed back, and his tuxedo was wrinkle-free. All a little much for a courthouse wedding, but Jett didn't have it in himself to find the whole thing stupid. If anything, he was nervous. He washed his face and scrubbed it red, trying to rid himself of the anxious energy that had him unable to stand still.

Jeong looked stunning in the dress he wore. Enough that Jett felt -- well, there was nothing to compare it to. He'd never felt tight-throated before. Shows and movies always brought up the idea of second thoughts or last moment cold feet, but Jett felt none of that. He wanted the ceremony to speed up. He wanted Jeong.

The rings they exchanged were simple gold bands. Custom made with soundwaves carved into them of each party saying something. Jett to Jeong's said: 'I do. Forever.' Engraved inside the rings was the saying: "My beloved is mine, and I am his." It was all very cheesy, but Jeong liked those types of things and Jett, maybe, sort of, had a soft spot for it all.

After the customary I do's, Jett lifted Jeong and kissed him, laughing and tearing up. Uttering I love yous as he peppered Jeje's face in kisses.

Jett and Jeong took a first class flight to the Cook Islands, on a little remote part of one of the island, a walking distance from a few stores. An enormous lagoon enclosed by coral reefs and sand banks surrounded them. The island was renowned for its many snorkeling and scuba-diving locations. Even without those, the water was crystal clear and mostly warm. The sights were astounding.

Jett had booked them a small beach hut, with the living room that could be opened into a patio staring directly at the ocean and the morning sunset. At their back were lush foliage, large trees, and mountainous terrain.

They would be staying here until the beginning of February. Jett was, well, fucking ecstatic. No work. No worry. Just him and Jeong enjoying the sun and the waves. He had tied a scarf around Jeje's eyes once the plane landed, leading him to the hut this way and revealing their honeymoon spot only once they were in front of their temporary home.

"Tada!"

There weren't words to express how Jeong felt. Nothing to soothe the feeling of utter bliss in those moments. For the past five years, the little tiger boy had his entire life turned around. At first, the thought of falling in love with an insane man was in the minds of fictional book readers only; this was his reality. His existence shifted when he met his soulmate, allowing himself to be captured and enveloped in his sometimes overly wanting embrace. A lot of the time the man considered leaving, thinking that this life wasn't what he signed up for. That all changed when for the first time, he felt a connection. There was an undeniable bond between the two of them, that only furthered into a loving and wholehearted relationship between the unlikely pair. Though the trip to get to where they were now had been rocky, Jeje wouldn't have changed it.

His hands shook, unable to fully grasp that he was to be wed to the man of his dreams; to the person that had given so much to him. He felt at home when he was in his arms, like a soothing blanket of safety and love. The only thing he wanted in those moments was to spend his time with his beloved. When they revealed each other to themselves, the constant blush on his face due to his outfit and his situation was overly noticeable. His eyes flared in attraction as he gazed upon Jett, taking in his essence. How had he been so lucky? The ring that he had given Jett said: "I love you, always." With the matching engraved words of his own. When they exchanged the meaningful gold bands, a shockwave of emotions flooded into him. Jeong smiled at his now husband, squealing as he was picked up and kissed over and over, hearing his love repeating the words he had longed for. He returned the words as many times as he could before he had to take a break to kiss him. This was bliss, this was what his life goal had been; he wanted a family.

~~

The next part was something that he hadn't expected. Of course, the thought of a honeymoon wasn't out of their budget or time; it was more so the fact that they directly went into it. Not that Jeong would complain, as this just meant some much needed alone time with him. The only part he hated about it was actually getting there. Jeong had a weak stomach by nature, so getting on a plane for hours left him in the bathroom for a good portion of it. Whenever he did get back to his seat, he was enthused to be cared for by his significant other. Jeje only hoped that he wouldn't be anymore of a bother than the time they had to spend in the air.

When they arrived, he was treated to a brisk fabric over his eyes. He stayed quiet, not wanting to bore Jett with the countless questions he knew he could ask. When the material was taken off of his eyes, he only stared at the massive beauty. The tiger boy cupped his mouth, trying not to squeak in his delight. How had he done all of this? "Jett I..." His voice trailed off as he turned around to take in where he was. "You did all this, for us?" His cheeks were flushed with embarrassment as well as utterly flustered, as he felt bad for not doing anything this amazing. Jeong immediately went into the arms of his husband, nuzzling his face as hard as he could into him. The amount of happiness was too much for words in those moments. He muttered out a muffled I love you as his hands clutched onto the sides of Jett's shirt before clasping around him. For Jeje, Jett was a fragile little flower.

It was just the two of them, alone in paradise. Jett didn't usually cry, he tried his damnedest to keep his emotions in check and not love too strongly. But he sobbed when Jeje clung to him, he cried and wrapped his arms around his husband, kissing bared skin and sharing tear-stained faces.

He scooped his husband up and carried him inside to the bed, falling on it with Jeong still in his arms. He continued to pepper his skin with kisses, touch him all over. Bare skin to bare skin and lover's whispers uttered into each other's necks. It had been afternoon before, but by the time they were done, breathless and holding each other, the sun was setting.

Jett stroked Jeong's hair, holding him close as if he might disappear otherwise. He sniffed, then laughed good-naturedly. He'd really made a wimp of himself, crying like that.

"Getting attached to you was the best mistake I've ever made," he said to the silence. Someone like Jett, who'd killed the people he loved, didn't deserve someone like Jeong. He'd already ruined the lovely things given to him. This was proof karma wasn't true. He didn't deserve any of this, but he had it anyway.

Though there was a feeling in him that wanted to ask if his husband was okay; he knew the answer already. It was clear by the way that Jett made their faces equal by the shared union of tears. He didn't mind that his questions weren't answered, as they weren't as important as having the man he cherished in his arms. Jeong kept silent, keeping his love close to his body before he was lifted up. He didn't protest, as he had been dreaming of this moment since he had first fallen for the man. His body shivered whenever he felt Jett's hands, his lips. Every word that they uttered to each other wasn't just out off passion, but a shared sense of love and loyalty. He wasn't embarrassed to show his tear stained face to his husband, or anything for that matter. The feeling of oneness in between them set his little heart on fire.

As they held one another, Jeong stared up at his emotionally drained lover, smiling when he did. Jeong stared at Jett's lips to fully understand what he was saying, as his lack of his tiger side made him think that he needed to. The words that he uttered made Jeje want to cry all over again. He only chuckled wholeheartedly though, feeling as if that was the best compliment he'd ever receive. "Staying by your side through it all, is was the only thing that has ever mattered to me." He said back in a hushed voice, wanting the words to reach Jett's soul, to grip him tightly. "You'll always be my everything." He kissed on his neck, wiggling himself closer in his embrace, as if he would melt into him. He knew that they should probably get up and explore their honeymoon destination, but the invisible tiger was just as happy staying enveloped in him.

"Hopefully not everything," Jett said with a bit of a concerned frown. He leaned down to kiss Jeje's forehead. "That would be like losing you, not having you live your own life." Jett wasn't big on wearing his heart on his sleeve or anything. He could name only Jeje who he had done it with because he trusted Jeong to never use any of it against him. He could be strangely breakable.

Jett closed his eyes, keeping his arms firm around Jeong. He was quiet a long while, focusing only on his husband's breathing and the sound of the ocean outside.

"My birth name is Yiska, and the one I had after that was Yanisin." He paused, then decided to explain. "The Navajo don't usually keep the names they're born with. They get names based on characteristics or feats..." Another pause. "Yiska meant 'the night has passed' and Yanisin... 'ashamed.' For awhile, after I left Arizona, I went by Sathon. I changed it to Jett once I came to Manta Carlos."

While Jett didn't think he had to tell Jeong not to say those names, not ever, he did anyway.

Jeong understood is worries. Having himself so fully devoted to someone else like he was may sound like he didn't live for himself. "Not like that." He nuzzled his face into Jett's chest after he was kissed. "You just make every day a bit better." His voice was muffled, but he said it loud enough to be heard. His eyes closed, as his face was red from their embrace. He was warm, and eery breath that the shared made his heart flutter even more.

When his husband spoke again, Jeong couldn't help but jump a bit. His mouth was glued shut as he slowly inched his head away from his chest to look up. It was so strange to hear this, to know that he hadn't known something so personal about him. Jeje gulped, blinking as he tried to process what to even say. "I-I-" He cut himself off. "Thank you for telling me." He knew not to utter them, or even think of them. Jeong was sometimes a blabber mouth, but he was going to make sure he never put him in danger with his other names. "It's cool that you have secret names." He was trying to lighten the mood. "But that's all in the past now, right? You're my Jett. I accept you for all that you are, and everything that you've been called."

Jett considered that question. That's all in the past, right? That part was, but there was no denying he'd continue to run from the sins that would kill him. Manta Carlos was a place of long-lived and immortal beings. How long before he left this land in search of a new one? Things weren't great.

He smiled down at Jeje. "Well, yes and no. I live by sin, Jeong. That's the nature of what I am, the reason I can't settle down. One day, I imagine I'll have to leave Manta Carlos. It's a damn good thing I'm not immortal, really. Because I couldn't be. It just wouldn't mesh well. I'd run out of places to hide."

He gave his husband a little pat on the shoulder, deciding this was too heavy a topic for their honeymoon. Then again, neither of them had ever been the most conventional couple.

"Too worn out for a little exploring?" He asked as he stared longingly out the window into the dusk.

Jett wasn't like a werewolf or many other shifters he had encountered. He didn't feel that same itching burning need to escape his skin and traverse the land. But there were times that running on four legs instead of two was magical. In the night, generally speaking.

Jeong was confused by his words. Wasn't the essence of getting married, settling down? He listened though, trying to understand the point of view that was different than his own. "I just hope that you're happy." He never wanted Jett to feel like he had put himself in a rut. If he wanted to leave their now home, Jeong would understand that. "You just let me know if the island doesn't... Thrill you anymore." His wording was off, but he wasn't sure how else to handle this situation. The statement about not wanting to be immortal was strange. Jeong simply trailed his hand up his chest as he spoke on it.

"No, I'm okay." He moved to sit himself up, looking out at the view that they had. "It's a beautiful place to explore, for sure." His tiger colored eyes gleamed at his partner, wondering what was going through his mind. The half human only hoped that his husband would take him wherever he decided he wanted to go.

Jett gave Jeong a sad smile. "That's not it," he corrected. "I like Manta Carlos. The life I've made. You. I love you. But I'm a thing of sin Jeje, in the end, it's all going to catch up to me, and that will be it."

He went quiet, watched the sunset as it descended and turned to blackness too soon. Everything was too fast and too fleeting. Why did beautiful things never last as long as the dark that came afterward?

"You make me wonder if everything was worth it. Everything I did before this." He winced, sighed and stood up, helping Jeong to his feet.

"I don't want to talk about it anymore. C'mon, let's go exploring."
