Lucy loved the outdoors, she loved the wind in her hair, the feeling of being cold. It was nice just to walk, to be free, to do whatever. She walked around, looking at the people around her with curiosity. "Hmm." She thought to herself, who was she looking for? What type of person would be good for her? She really didn't care who is it is. She was outgoing enough to make friends whenever, wherever if hip she really wanted to. She was a good person, always looking to do something. Though the things she liked to do weren't always nice things. She sighed to herself. 'It is nice out here.' She kept walking and finally found a bench to sit on. She sat down and redid her hair, looking around at the beautiful of winter.

She wondered if she had picked a good spot to go, thinking that maybe somewhere that wasn't so spacious would be better. She sighed and closed her eyes, thinking about how this school would change her, if it would make her different. Having new experiences, new friends, enemies, skills or something else new was making her excited. She loved to learn, to try something new. She always kept her mind open to new things, making sure to fit into anything that she tried.

Maybe this school would offer something new for her. She really did hope that she would be able to experience something new here, even if it was small. She sighed and relaxed a little bit more, extending her legs and arms in the bench, but not so much that no one couldn't sit on it if they wanted to. She was excited and ready for something new to start in toner life. Because of this, she continued to think of the possibilities, which for her, were endless.

Yuki was seated on the bench next to the one Lucy occupied, her bare palms opened upwards, catching the snowflakes that were falling. Yep, bare. She wasn't wearing mittens or anything. Nor was she wearing a coat, scarf, or anything to keep warm. She didn't need to. The snow and cold were a part of her. She loved the cold. Well technically not the cold, since Yuki didn't feel cold in this air.

The girl absentmindedly enlarged a particular snowflake she caught, making it grow until it was about the size of her face. It floated upright and slowly spun in her palm. Snowflakes were her favourite. Her bright blue eyes examined the intricate details of the fractal. Who knew something so simple and beautiful could be so dangerous?

Lucy turned her head to the side, noticing that there was a girl on a bench beside her. She was beautiful. She smiled at the sight of her, and thought that it was inferring that she wasn't really wearing anything to keep her warm. She guessed that her power had something g to do with the cold, ice or snow.

She was amazed as she made a snowflake bigger. She gasped at it, looking at it. She had not seen anything like it before, which was great. "That is cool." She said I. The direction of the girl. "Does your power let you do that?" It wasn't the best way to start a conversation, but it was all she could think of besides of sounding like every other conversation starter.

Yuki, startled, jumped in her seat slightly. The enlarged snowflake burst into tiny sparkling particles as she turned to the source of the voice. "Yes, it does," she replied softly, looking at the redheaded girl, a small smile on her lips. Yuki had seen this girl around the academy a few times. "Thanks. That was the first time anyone had ever called my power 'cool'." Because most of the time, they called it 'scary', 'terrifying', 'violent', or 'wretched'. And sometimes, she called her powers those things too.

The girl felt a warm glow in her chest. Chikara, the ice dragon that lived in her, was happy. For an ancient legendary dragon, Chikara was easily made happy by simple things, which was kind of odd.

"That is surprising. I would love something more, interesting I guess, as a power." She shrugged a bit and turned a bit in the direction of the girl. "Mine are so, normal, compared to some people's." it was true. Her powers were good and all, but they didn't always compare to others. "I am Lucy." She said smiling and looking at the girl's eyes. She had amazing eyes, so blue and bold."what is your name?" She she fully turned to face the girl, then propped her head up worth her hand, as her eblow was on the top of the bench.

Yuki turned towards Lucy a little bit more. "I'm Yuki," she said. She then bit her lip. Was this perhaps a start to making friends? She has always wanted a friend. "I actual wish my power was more normal. Sometimes I even wish that I didn't have any powers." She gazed up at the sky. Powdery snow was still floating down steadily. A few snowflakes landed on her lashes.

"What's your power?" she then asked Lucy, curiously, glancing at the girl.

"Nice name." She stared into her eyes for a second, taking them in before answering her question. What was her power? Was there any simple answer to that? She thought for a moment, thinking of how to explain it without sounding weird.

"I am, just really good with weapons, actuary, speed, climbing, hiding. I don't know really what it is." She paused, thinking about what she had said. "I can operate any weapon really, many I am pretty good with a knife, or any fire arm." She corrected. "I am faster, quieter, and more then a lot of people I guess." She paused again. "I learned fast." She smiled a bit, even thought what she had just said probably didn't make any sense to this girl.

Yuki nodded as she listened to Lucy. "Those are pretty handy powers," she said, when Lucy finished explaining. "Why don't you live normally outside? Your powers wouldn't be out of place in the real world, would they? I mean, the world outside of Manta Carlos."

She lowered her gaze to the folded hands in her lap. "You would be able to live normally. Grow up and lend your powers to forces like interpol or something like that. You would be able to protect people with your powers."

Lucy wasn't sure why she had not stayed. Maybe because she wanted something different? Her home life wasn't that bad, but it wasn't great either. "I wanted a change."' She said clearly. "Where I was, didn't offer what I wanted, so when a family member saw the flyer, I decided that I would rather meet more people like me." She thought that maybe that was a weird response. "I never really had any friends anyways. My family was small too. "I wanted to use my powers, for the reasons I wanted. I didn't want to spend my entire life working for someone else that saw me as an equal to everyone else." She paused. "Because I am not, none of us are." She looked at Yuki, wondering if she felt the same, or even understood.

Yuki nodded slowly. "I understand," she said softly. She can relate to Lucy, in a way. Her home life also didn't offer what she wanted- the safety of her family, of her maids, of everyone living in the castle. And she also has never really had friends.

"Yes, we're definitely not the same, are we," Yuki mused. She has not come to terms with her powers yet, not accepted it fully. She still wished she was normal sometimes. She then glanced at Lucy, eyebrows raised slightly. "What do you want to use your powers for?"
