“I really am sorry about flaking on you by the way…Responsibilities or not, there was so much blood… just thinking about it makes me want to jump in a scolding hot shower and rub my skin raw with soap”

Rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, Chester coughed up an awkward laugh. “Oh. That. uhmm…Well apologies would then be forwarded to Tomoya. Since I was in the hospital, he cleaned all that up before I came back….Yeeeah.. He is also kinda my uhh… helps a lot.” Trying as hard as he could to avoid saying maid or butler, he ended the sentence weakly and decided to move on.

“As for the shower, feel free! Towels and clothes are already laid out in the bathroom. You can use the soap pump. I like body wash more than bars so uhm... Yuuup! Wash away!” Busying himself tidying up leftovers in the kitchen, he already began storing things away in the fridge and turning on the kettle for hot tea.

“Just call if you need anything.” He called awkwardly after Jules as he left the room.

Once everything was tidied up, he was just drying his hands when another thought basically blew him right over!

~Where is he going to sleep?~ He just froze, staring blankly out the window as the realization hit, that unless he made one of them sleep on the floor, his only real option at the moment was to- ~Share my bed….~

Splashing cold water on his face immediately, Chester did his best not to hyperventilate.

It wasn’t a big deal.
Not at all.
~Except that I have night terrors and scream and thrash in my sleep.~
~Shit~

What to do what to do?

~I’ll just rest. I won’t sleep. I’ll let him sleep. I’ll… uh… wait. When I told the shadows to shut up today… they DID. Maybe if I am really demanding…no that won’t work…~

But no matter what solution he tried to concoct, no easy answer came. But the bottom line was, Julian was his guest and Chester had invited him to stay over. So it was the very least he could do, was offer his own bed. It was a King after all. More than enough room for both of them to have a decent amount of personal space.

So fine that was that.

~This ‘Friend’ thing is going to be difficult~ He hung his head in realization as he poured two cups of herbal chamomile.

Leaving them to steep he strolled down the hall and leaned against the door knocking just loudly enough not to be too intrusive.

“ahh Jules?” Can I call him that? Maybe it’s too early for nicknames….~ But it was too late now.

“Julian? I uh… Just realized… I don’t have… any uhm… alternative sleeping arrangements available. Uhhh… But I have a King size bed. Uhm. Would you mind… uh… Bunking together?” He asked flustered, picking at the scabs on his chin, while he waited on an answer.

Then he knocked again, opening the door ever so slightly. “Julian?”

“Damn, you are good” Sickly sweet was the answer that came from Chester’s lips, that he had prepared for the young Harrison's arrival was one thing, but that he had clothes and soaps waiting. Part of Julian wanted to wrap the lad in another warm embrace, but the majority of his person didn’t want to step-in or touch another thing until he was clean. Thoroughly rattled by the memory of the blood and his current stickiness, Julian wordless retired to the main floor shower.

It would have been in the quickest manner one would’ve had to observe Julian relieving himself of his clothes, though he took a moment to release unnecessary fluids, he jumped into the shower almost immediately and turned on the water. At first his nerves flared at the sudden cold sensation that touched his skin, the water having taken a few seconds to warm and then it was like melting a stick of butter. Knowing full well that he did not want to pass out in the shower however, Julian switched the temperature to a colder level that was not freezing and then proceeded to pump away once he had discovered the location of the soap dispenser.

It was a lavish brand with a smell that was owned by the man in the other room. As it filled the walk in shower, Julian was overtaken by the intoxicating aroma and almost let himself drift back into the semi-consciousness daydream of being in Chester’s arms once more. It was as if he’d never left the room, like he was just on the other side of the curtain waiting to join Julian at a moment’s notice. Becoming light headed from the decline in his adrenaline and the soft core day dream he was having, Julian almost slipped in the tub upon hearing Chester’s voice from the door.

“ahh Jules?”

Catching himself barely, his nerves flared in a panic that was all too suddenly real and he exited the shower fully naked as the day he was born. Suds covering the barest patches of his skin, Julian while blushing like a bridesmaid that had caught the bouquet grabbed the nearest towel and covered himself for fear that his day dream would be discovered as he was near fully erec… wrapping himself hastily as to not further embarrass himself, he placed a hand on the door and breathed a heavy sigh.

“Sure, your bed sounds fine” withdrawing, his breath quickly escaped him… clearly this ‘friends for now’ business was going to be harder than he thought. Sinking to the floor with his back against the door, it slowly closed as he repeated in a calmer tone.

“Were adults, a king size bed is more than enough for both of us” he declared between gasps of air, like the room hadn’t but moments ago felt like it was full of the most desirable smell in the world to him and a hot mist… yet all around the mirrors clearly displayed otherwise and despite his better efforts his baser instincts took a moment longer to calm downish. Catching his breath as the door came to a close, Julian placed a hand over his chest and took a long deep breath before standing up and getting dressed… much as he didn’t want to admit it, sleep was going to be harder to come by if things kept up like this.

Now fully dressed and still slightly damp for lack of better drying techniques, Julian’s figure in Chester’s clothes were almost form fitting they were so snug due to the water. That is to say, things he had thought were better hidden weren’t and his embarrassment this night was far from over.

“Sorry for the wait, I really needed that. Seriously, the pressure on your shower head may have gotten me cleaner than I’ve been in days” he admitted, thinking of the dorm showers and how inadequate they were by comparison.

“If that’s any indication, I’m sure your king is going to make me completely regret having signed up for the dorms on campus… with those air thin mattresses, I almost prefer sleeping on the floor” At least that was a true statement, that and sleeping on a flat surface was good for the posture.

Feeling sudden pressure from the other side of the door, Chester froze and released the door, embarrassed to have nearly walked in on him.

“Sure, your bed sounds fine”

“Alright then! Uhh… I’m just making some tea. So uhm… I’ll be in the kitchen!”

Fleeing fleet footed back to the kitchen, face burning, Chester’s hands went quick to work as he removed the teabags and added some honey and frothed milk to each mug. One a deep jade green, the other a glittered cosmos blue. Giving both a soft stir, he paced about the kitchen wiping down the table, the floor, and setting the cups up to cool.

All just in time as well, for just as he pulled a few shortbread cookies on a small dish of china, Julian had rejoined him.

“Sorry for the wait, I really needed that. Seriously, the pressure on your shower head may have gotten me cleaner than I’ve been in days. If that’s any indication, I’m sure your king is going to make me completely regret having signed up for the dorms on campus… with those air thin mattresses, I almost prefer sleeping on the floor”

Jaw hurting from all his teeth grinding and random smiling, the awkward host motioned to the green cup for Julian, grabbing his own.

“No problem! A hot shower is always best before bed. Helps with circulation and all that. Uhm, Chamomile tea with honey and milk. I got some snacks. I figure we can retire upstairs and chill before bed.” Feeling his heart skipping a mile a minute, he wondered if it was noticeable in his voice or his short breathes, leading the way he began his careful trip up the stairs.

“If you could grab the lights as we go, thanks! Yeah I know what you mean about the dorms. I stayed there the first few weeks I moved here. Horrible. But I thought maybe it was just because I’m spoiled. I’m glad to see it’s a mutual sentiment. But I guess being wealthy has it’s perks. The best products and the best materials. So… uhm… sorry. I sound like I'm bragging…I’m trying to sound ironic but I think I’m just sounding …. Nevermind.” Stumbling through his words, once the rounded the stairs to the second floor, Chester nodded to the open door on the right which lead to a bedroom that overlooked the front garden positioned practically over the kitchen.

The luxurious bedroom was rather large with floor to ceiling windows with large heavy drapes. The floors donned in thick fuzzy soft throw rungs. The light switch was a dimmer and the walls were fairly plain upon first entry but further inspection showed a few large movie posters. There were two vine plants, crawling across the wall where it met some of the lantern fixtures. The room was air conditioned, and draped in mostly shades of blue and purple. The first thing you noticed upon entry was a large comfy lounging love seat adjacent to a short nightstand stacked with books and a laptop. Next was the bed, dead center in its enormous monstrosity. The type you had to practically climb, with mounds of thick soft plush blankets, duvets, comforters and throws and a healthy mountain of pillows. Then another side table with his charging phone, and his purple lotus and a small lamp. Following that were large bookcases on either side of the windows and a giant character bean bag chair and a cat tree, where Sylvia was hiding. To the immediate left upon entering the small hall into the room on the other side of the chair was two sliding doors which lead to the walk in closet.

“uhm… Welcome to … my room. Clearly the most furnished in the house.” Chester bubbled out a nervous explanation. “uhm.. feel free to sit where you like. I can pull out some eating trays for our drinks if you want…” Setting the cookies on the bed, he started to shuffle some of his things around to make room on the side tables.

"Just make yourself comfortable."

Timid as the cowardly lion with near none of the characters already limited speech capacity, Julian silently followed his host’s instructions as they ascended into the second floor. As he almost missed the cue, Julian returned to the lower level briefly to flip the light switch and partly wonder if he ought to check the door locks… but that was simply out of habit. Jauntily returning to Chester’s side, Julian wondered were that sense of paranoia came from. In part it must have been the side of him that wanted to keep certain things secret and persons important to him safe. Hoping from one home to another never really left a good taste in his mouth as he could never truly trust one community as good as the last and so on.

Some say ignorance is bliss, to those people Julian would laugh as they bought real estate in the middle of a crime infested province like Regina Saskatchewan. Such was his tribe’s home town that had accurately earned its title of number one crime capita of all Canada.

Thoughts of home weren’t always so bleak, he had fond memories of his time with family and friends that he still kept in touch with to this day. He tried not to dwell on the past, but his mind was ever shifting as he fidgeted closer and closer to Chester’s room. As their impending arrival was confirmed with a nod in the direction of their destination, Julian swallowed hard and held back his expectations until he was awash in the coziest room built for a comic con nerd.

“Oh my god… is that a Snorlax bean bag?” his question trailed off in disbelief, the part of him that stared at Chester now was one of complete jealousy as he sat down his cup of tea on the end table… staring for a moment longer than he had intended at the purple lotus flower sitting at Chester’s bedside… astonished that Chester would think so highly of the gift, he stood there dumbfounded at it. Then, back to Chester he looked as if he had called the poor boy out like a child, only to shimmy fast as he could and plop down on the Snorlax Beanie.

“I can’t believe you have one of these, this is the coolest thing ever!” he declared, wishing he had his phone on him at that very moment so he could take a photo only to find that he had absolutely no idea where it was and didn’t much care as to freak out as some youths did.
“Seriously, I wanted one of these as much as a kid and still now… I want it even more now that it’s in front of me!” he said, turning around and burying his face into it as he knelt down and fell face first into its stomach.

“Aw man, I don’t know why you’d ever leave this room” he declared, looking at the bed and teasing with an “O” face as he pressed a hand down into it. Retracting the hand in joyful fear that he might plop into that next and never return due in part to it’s amazing softness to the touch. Picking up his tea cup as not to leave any rings on Chester’s furnishing, he nodded to the boy and went to sit near the computer.

“Speaking of reasons to live beyond your own bed’s thread count, what do you do for fun? Are you apart of any clubs at school?” sipping on his tea, he mentally commended Chester on his brewing skills with a warm smile and eyes that wanted to swim in the delicious cup.

“Oh my god… is that a Snorlax bean bag?”

~ugh that’s right, lets get this humiliation over with~ He thought reproachfully to himself, knowing there was no way he could hide ALL of his nerdom.

“Yea…” He answered gloomily before Julian basically attacked the thing!

“I can’t believe you have one of these, this is the coolest thing ever!

“R-Really?” Chester perked, recovering quickly, clearly pleased that he was not about to be on the teasing end. If he was so impressed just by this one, wait until the rest of his stuff finally came from Europe…

“Aw man, I don’t know why you’d ever leave this room Speaking of reasons to live beyond your own bed’s thread count, what do you do for fun? Are you apart of any clubs at school?”

Scoffing at the first comment, Chester climbed up on the bed in his throne of pillows and nestled himself cross legged, nicely into their folds, propping a pillow between his legs to rest his tea on.

“Oh I wouldn’t if given real choice! I spent most of my life locked up between house and gardens. But Parents insisted I needed ‘Real interaction’ and made it a requirement to attend public courses.” Rolling his eyes he smiled as he sipped his tea in all his coziness. “Otherwise I’d stay here forever, me and my laptop.” He admitted coyly.

Reaching for a cookie, he dipped it in his tea before munching down on it, thinking about the second series of questions.

“Fun…fun… I don’t know. I uhhh I garden, I binge watch, online shop, play with Sylvia, journal, swim… Introverted stuff I guess. As for clubs at school, I don’t know if you’ve noticed. But…” Chester pointed to himself. “Not a people person.”

“Aside from that, well I’m part of the gardening club. I’m not allowed to join nap club… for reasons… uhhh…. I mostly just do homework and come home for everything else. ” He shrugged, sipping on.

“They probably have plenty of other sports clubs and activities you’d probably be interested in. Being the sort of person people gravitate too, I don’t imagine it would be too hard to enter any teams so far in the year.” He smiled hoping it would be taken as a compliment. Helping himself to another cookie before reaching to hand the plate over he continued.

“What other classes are you taking besides the Horticulture class? I’m in Home Ec, Art, Anthropology, and Herbal Remedies. I’m SUPPOSED to be in Power classes, but I managed to weasel my way out of that for now… How about you? Are you a full time student?”

“Fun…fun… I don’t know”

Amused by Chester’s automaton like understanding of what fun was to him, Julian stood from his chair by the laptop and desk to relieve the serving tray of several biscuits. Dunking one on his way back to his station, Julian observed his ‘friend for now’ in his explanation of what passed for mirth in the Mayfield household. Clearly there was some underlined amount of resentment that held an ember in the flame that fueled Chester’s story. Perhaps his parents thought they were doing their best; then again, it would appear Chester was of another opinion on the matter. It felt like to him they hadn’t done enough… but with so few details, Julian knew better that from the outside looking in, it wasn’t wise to play judge on anothers life… after all, the devil was in the details and stories often changed dependent on the author.

Far as Julian could say, it was best to let life be at its best or worst and just deal with situations as best can be in the moment. Living in the past only bred resentment, anger and frustration. Living in the future greed, selfishness and fear. But living in the present… at least for Julian was far easier, hoping that when he helped a stranger or showed some equal act of random kindness, that such a ripple would occur as to cause a chain of other small kindnesses. Not that he was a beauty pageant model and wanted nothing but world peace, but oh what a man he would make in one of those glimmering swimsuits on stage singing his heart out.
Curiosity overwhelming, Julian’s mind peaked at the mention of a gardening club, though not nearly as much as he had to repeat what he’d heard next.

“A nap club… seriously, that exists?” could such even be possible, what would even be the purpose of such a class other than… oh gods now he began thinking of reasons as to why this club would exist and they were just so outlandish that he had to almost had to share. Gridlocked as he was in that thought, he soon found lanes overflowing with Jerseys, trophies and ribbons at the mention of all manner of sports clubs fitting a man of his personality.
“Kind as your words maybe” he stated clammily, reluctant at first he disappointedly shared the truth of his situation with becoming a pro athlete.

“I’m sure as a dragon you know full well that not all people draw their magic from the same fount… my clan taught us about inner magic, the kind that is drawn in from the soul and earth. Suffice it to say I have a very limited amount of magic within me, it’s like stamina almost, eventually it runs out until I rest and replenish it a number of ways I’ve been taught. But… and this is the part that involves sports, I was also taught how to pull energy out of the earth. Like, you know how plants pull nutrients from the soil? Same thing, except it’s like taking a shot of espresso, that’s what I did earlier that gave me so much energy… and of course, when you apply the possibility of using that technique a little differently… we’ll imagine someone absorbing sunlight like a plant and using it like a steroid junky to plow through six or seven other guys… yeah, not exactly friendly competition anymore. So, I try to avoid the “He’s juicing” conversation by not taking part in any of that macho stuff… like you I prefer gardening, swimming, I do leisurely kick a soccer ball around from time to time, but I’m no pro and certainly don’t want to break something on a field” feeling like he’d just spoken a thousand words in a minute, Julian paused to consume another biscuit and drown it down with half of his cup of tea.

“Far as classes go, most of it is just basic refresher courses like Horticulture… Geological divination, care for magical creatures and some more advanced herbalism and astrology classes so I might learn something new to benefit the tribe. They are sponsoring my education after all, so, whatever within reason so that I might be of greater use to society” he said, a slight hint of sarcasm at that last bit of the sentence. Much as wanted to help his own people, he would’ve liked the idea more if he were permitted to plant his roots to a single area, unlike his parents he was a traveler in spirit, not physically as he didn’t care much for blisters on the bottom of his feet.

“Think I could join your gardening flock maybe? That is if I wouldn’t be intruding on your turf, I don’t want to create some mad power struggle or something” sipping the remainder of his tea, Julian deposited the cup onto the tray and sat on the edge of the bed, his mind weary and his jokes becoming lamer by the second… he realized this struggle of his was fast approaching the futile mark as he yawned.

Becoming flustered and feeling foolish as he began to wave his hands about like a wild man, Chester felt his ears grow hot as Julian went into a long winded explanation why he wouldn’t play sports.

“I-I I didn’t mean anything b-by it! I w-wasn’t even really th-thinking about the magic side of things! I j-just thought you’re very charismatic! Very athletic looking! I-I mean sure there are lots of magic folk here so I’m sure there are good rules to make it fair! That’s probably why they have the power containment and control classes- but that’s beside the point!” Slapping his hands together he bowed his head in a prayer like apology. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to be stereotypical! Or im-imply that you’d take advantage of anything!”

Glancing up from under his long lashes and bangs, he glanced at Julian then looked away. “If anything… I thought maybe a suggesting a druid take a garden club would be… too presumptuous.”

As Julian expanded on his own classes, the hope that had swelled upon all their coincidences thus far, fell short as he sighed crestfallen.

“Oh… I see.”

Reaching for his cup to take a long sip, he felt the disappointment weigh in upon realizing, they only really had one course together. Unless… ~Maybe we have the same Herbal class…~ He wished wistfully. Though now doubt was heavy on his mind, since Jules was quite specific in the term Advanced. Chester was taking a beginners course. ~ So then it’s just the one class.~ Sinking a bit deeper into his pillows as he nursed the last dredges of tea in his cup,

“Think I could join your gardening flock maybe? That is if I wouldn’t be intruding on your turf, I don’t want to create some mad power struggle or something”

Attention recaptured, if momentarily, Chester sat up again waving both his empty cup and his hand about.

“Oh No! No! Not at all-— Err rather yes! Gardening society is always looking for more members I think…” His eyes wandered away into a trail of thought. “I don’t really socialize much. I just ask what they want me to do then I wander off on my own to do it… so… it’s not really like I’m overly involved in it…” Trying to lighten up he forced another smile.

“I’m sure they’d love to have —— you…” Noting the large yawn, Chester fought with all his might not to mimic, but of course Yawns were always crazy contagious, and weariness was wearing heavily on them both.

“Here let me take that. You can shove some of the pillows and stuff aside and climb into bed. I generally sleep by Aya, so you can sleep on this side.” Patting the side of the bed opposite of his plant, not even thinking as he busied himself collecting the dish and cups, he completely flaked on the fact that he named his Flowers.

Taking no notice whatsoever, as he set a tray on the love seat with the dishes, and went to turn down the lights, leaving it on the dimmest setting, but not completely dark. Turning heel to return to bed, he hesitating by the light switch.

“Uhm… do you sleep… in the dark? I mean, do you want the lights off? Or…” He usually kept something on during the night…. But he wasn’t alone this time… And now he wondered if it was better to be in the dark so they couldn’t see each other, or if that was weird… or maybe leave the lights on for that sense of security?

~AUGH I DON’T KNOW!~ He felt dizzy with all the conflict in his head.

Coming out of his own yawn into Chester’s flurry of panic with his head in a haze, Julian began slowly taking off his shirt and stretching before bed. As Chester moved about the room, he slowly began retracing the conversation in his head.

“No offense taken, but man, wouldn’t that be wonderful” he mused, the thought almost too spectacular at being able to compete with others carefree for a change. This magic containment, it must be something special, but Julian was so new to this land and all it had to offer. Four days hadn’t really been all that long, but in that time Julian and his tribe had taken notes of flora that had long since been considered extinct in the real world… stifling a laugh, Julian pondered his life outside of this dimension, the one thing that kept him going with his family was to see real magic and that he’d seen plenty of, but not like the kind in his great grandfathers old books.

“Gardening society is always looking for more members I think… I’m sure they’d love to have —— you…”

The words replayed once more in his mind, he searched dearly for the topic in his mind. Sloshing through the fog, he managed to move enough away to get his barring’s and remember what he wanted to say.

“Then it’s settled, I’ll report first thing tomorrow after my Herbol… Herbology class and you can introduce me to everyone” Cracking several bones and tugging the last muscle loose, Julian knelt over the bedside that was indicated by Chester for Julian to sleep on. Smiling at Chester as he indicated that he slept next to Ava, Julian wondered where Chester’s other cat was briefly before presuming she was either sleeping with Sylvia tonight or at the beside.

“On or Off is fine, whichever you prefer… I’ll… I’m gonna be out pretty… Hard” he said, mindlessly arranging pillows without any specific pattern.

“Hey… thanks again for sending Tomato-san, buying the pizza, the shower, the biscuits and… well, all of it. This was really nice” gently folding his side of the multi-layered blankets until he finally reached bottom, Julian casually slid into the bed and sitting straight up for just long enough until Chester joined him. The feeling of the sheets against his toes and shirtless skin was extraordinarily soft and comfortable, certainly Julian had never felt anything close to this level of luxury.

“Hey Chester…” the question lingered on his tongue as he slowly slid back into the bed, sinking gently as the mattress flexed to support his bodies every curve just so to the perfect pressure. He wanted to ask if they truly were friends, if his friends at the garden club were nice, if he could walk Chester to class someday or have lunch again… and lastly.

“Is this a dream?” unknowingly the words came out, whether Chester heard them or not he knew not as they were proceeded by a single tear drop of the deepest sorrow rolling down his cheek and a smile… Julian closed his eyes tight, a wish so evident and powerful filling him up that his chest felt as if it meant to burst open... gods it hurt so much and then... nothing, because his eyes didn’t open again. Everything around him, all of the plush comfort and warm tears just melted away like it was a fiction and the last conscious thought he had while drifting into the darkness was that… if this were a dream… please don’t ever let me wake up.

Too flustered to want to face him, especially after glancing back to see a familiar Tee on the floor, Chester quickly switched off the lights and shuffled quickly as he could back to bed.

“Hey… thanks again for sending Tomato-san, buying the pizza, the shower, the biscuits and… well, all of it. This was really nice”

“Huh? Oh-— Yeah... Any time!” Did his voice pitch? He was pretty sure he usually didn’t talk that high…

Climbing into bed and nestling down into a stiff plank on his side of the bed, he warily positioned a pillow between them. Heart pounding, head spinning, he was far too preoccupied with the other person in his bed to hear a damn thing the demons in the dark had to say.

“Hey Chester…”

“Yes?” He whispered in almost a squeaky voice, gripping handfuls of blankets. Was he sweating now? Usually he was always cold… it was suddenly warmer in here wasn’t it?

“Is this a dream?”

The world stopped a moment, and Chester sucked in a breath and glanced over in the darkness, as was the case at night, his left became blind as his right eye traced out the gentle rugged outlines of Julian’s emotionally conflicted face.

He mostly FELT Julian slip away into sleep… how? Probably something to do with the powers he didn’t fully understand… But he stared a while into the darkness as his other eye adjusted and caught up with his vision.

Sitting up just a little, he reluctantly reached out. Yanking his hand back a moment when Julian stirred, he swallowed hard and with a trembling hand; swept Jules’ sandy mop from his face.

Blushing hard, Julian’s hair was surprisingly soft and feathery. Hugging the pillow between them, he lay staring an eerily long time at the boys sleeping form, his fingers playing with Julian’s hair until he gathered courage to stroke his cheek.

When Julian managed a snore, Chester jumped and immediately rolled over to stare across his room and out the window.

~WHAT AM I DOING?! LEAVE HIM ALONE! ARE YOU A PERVERT?! HE’S SLEEPING! GODS! FRIENDS!!! WHAT DO FRIENDS MEAN? IT IS SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT ….DO… WHATEVER I’M DOING!! AUUUGH WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME?!~

Shoving his face in his abused pillow, he groaned. ~Sleep. I need to sleep. Sleep Sleep!!!~ As if dealing with nightmares, terror screams, and horrifying whispers in the night. Now he had to deal with… WHATEVER this was!

Oh this was going to be a Long. Long. Night.

———————————————-THE NEXT MORNING-—————————————-

Staring at the ceiling as the first dredges of sunlight began to peer through the window, Chester sighed with supreme exhaustion. Pale and weary as ever, he wasn't surprised he barely slept... did he sleep? Maybe he was just in a weird meditative state?
Which ever it was, there was no use wasting the day. Grabbing his phone and tiptoeing to his closet, he grabbed some fresh clothes for the day, and set out something presentable for Julian on the love seat, before sneaking out the door.

After a fresh morning shower, some bandages, and a hot tea, Chester made some breakfast, and set some aside with saran wrap for Julian. Finding Julian's phone in his coat, he set it on one of his wireless chargers and scrawled a hand written note.

Hey Jules,
Sorry I wasn't here when you woke. I had an early class today.
Help yourself to some breakfast, and a hot shower.
Charged your phone for you.
Here is Tomoya's number, if you want a ride.
See you at school., don't worry about lunch.
Hope you slept well.. Extra toothbrush in mirror cabinet!

Yours,
Chester

With a quick flourish of his penmanship, he set it aside, and grabbed his bag and made his way to school.
