Blinking rapidly as a cry was stifled in his throat, he half expected to be in a sticky mess on the ground, but much to his luck, Julian had managed to just catch him in time!
Feeling like he were the dame in some elaborate waltz, he certainly felt delicate the way Harrison balanced him just so.
Cats still mewing away, the fourth white one came zipping out from a window and hissed them all away, bringing Chester back to earth.
Extra kitty treats for his special girl later! Sylvia usually kept her stray friends in line.
Raised back to his feet, he jumped when Julian let out a hell of an enthusiastic whoop! His hair on the back of his neck standing on end from the unexpected holler.
“Woooo! Did you see that? I snatched you right out of the air… I mean up, damn that was cool!”
“I mean, that was close are you okay, do you want me to help you inside?”
Relaxing a bit more, Chester smirked and pulled his shoulder away.
“Thanks but no Kuzco. I’m not that delicate! I’ve still got some dignity left.” Then giving a healthy chortle, he grabbed the pizza, and left the extra bags for his embarrassed friend.
Once inside, he set the food down on the table and wandered to the counter for a quick drink before the grey and white tabby raced in and jumped up by the sink. The gorgeous feline booped her little pink nose with his giving a gentle purr.
Chess returned her affection and scratched her cute little head. “Thanks Sylvia. I’m alright. I’ll get you some salmon for being such a stern cutie.”
Then making good on his promise, he reached for a can of premium canned fish from the cupboard, and then crouched down by her fancy food dish to feed the happy cat.
“You know, over the phone you sounded so exhausted and wet. But now you seem ready to run a marathon!” He smirked over his shoulder, struggling back to his feet when Julian entered the kitchen. “Share any of that energy with me?” He teased before pulling out a chair at the small round table and having a seat.
“I don’t how you do it. Being at 500% all the time. I can barely manage 60 at any given time!”
