Michi nodded meekly. Trying to soft through the voices at their most was a struggle, but Michi didn't have much of a choice here. Little else you can do, that's what Adelaida said. Michi took a few more moments to breathe, searching though her better memories until she could hear her surroundings more. "Sorry... and thanks," she mumbled. Minutes passed them, and Michi had lost count before she straightened up. "I'm okay. I can still talk."

Michi searched her thoughts, at least the ones she was sure she could tread without agitating the voices at this moment. Which was highly difficult, because every time she heard something louder, she had to derail her thoughts. Eventually, she had to give up before she bored Adelaida with her silence. "Can't think of anything," she said rather apologetically. "I could probably follow-up something over message, maybe? Writing things down agitates the voices less," she would know, as she'd gotten away with other things while writing her diary entries. It wasn't coherent speech, but it was something. "Um, sure if that'll work," Michi said, looking like she wanted to say something. "So would that mean... I could ask questions, then?"

Michi hummed, figuring out how to properly word her question. As she was, Adelaida invited her for a walk and she nodded. She probably needed a drink herself, noticing her hands shaking as well. She nodded as she put away her things in her bag. "You mentioned losing your soul... from what you did," she began, avoiding the word, worried of agitating the voices just as they were starting to calm. "What were you trying to do... exactly? My friends and I... I don't think anyone of us went that far, so what did you do that we didn't?"

Michi watched Adelaida's expression as she laid out her experience with her. It almost looked like she didn't care but maybe that's what happens when you start accepting there's nothing else you could do from that point on. Adelaida at least had a clue what she was doing, but was caught unprepared. Michi didn't know anything, and paid the consequence just the same. The way she spoke should have bothered Michi, but the girl was too focused on what she could still do with that information Adelaida gave her. Michi was quiet for a moment, trying to organize the her thoughts among the static noise. The ritual took more from Adelaida, sure, but that was maybe because she knew what she was getting into, and she did it anyway. The joke flew over her head as her thoughts get clouded. A thought strayed to her mind, reminding her of the book she collected from the library. "You said you were good at magic, right? I'm... assuming you still know the ins and outs of it. If my soul is tainted. Can I control it?"

Michi raised her hands to her lips, fingers pressed together pensively, while the voices seemed to chime in between whispers. She didn't think herself possessed from whatever that creature they killed. And even as she guessed, she was likely just afflicted. Which meant she could still be in control, as Adelaida said. But now the question was how. She could only get so far with reading a bunch of texts she could barely understand. She knew next to nothing about practicing magic, let alone trying to harness whatever ancient magic she was inflicted with. The man at the library likely would have refused to help her. So perhaps she had to look for alternatives. "Would you be willing to take on an apprentice, if ever?"
