And just like that, it was over.

With a clap, Adelaida brought attention back to herself. She took her knife and quickly scratched out a small spell on her tabletop, and she let her newfound but meager supply of power channel into it, smiling to herself when above it a small light manifested for a single second before disappearing.

"Alright, I've done my job as requested. Let's talk about what you can do for me."

"Alright, do say it.", Bastet got up in a jump, wobbled lightly and mumbled "Oh, numb leg. Cool.", but still managed to walk over to Adelaida, with Ororoku and Gacha in tow, the cat promptly jumping onto her shoulder and the serpent periscoping to peek over,

Adelaida was quite content not revealing that she'd already gotten what she wanted to begin with. After all, she did basically create a new spirit for Bastet, and that was worth a lot.

She held out the knife. "Two things. One of them - I can call in a favor once, from you to me. The other - I'd like a small sample of you to study. Your unique composition might be a clue for me to better utilize the Living Flame I'm connected to - I hope you have a healer handy, but I do have bandages."

She also pulled out the little ball she'd used during the first run of the isolation spell with her pupil Michi. "Part of the sample's your magical power - I'd like you to put in a little bit in this ball so I can study it."

"A blood sample, I suppose... Well, a deal is a deal. Just get me some bandages on the standby. So first I'll focus on giving the magic sample. Ororoku, you know what to-", before Bastet finished saying it, the serpent was gone, "He's fast! Anyhow, magic sample. Is it okay if it includes the essences I absorbed? Want Gacha's as well? (She might need her own sphere...)"

"Yes, the more diversity's in it, the better it is to study. I can isolate portions, see how to recreate things... I haven't had so much potential research in quite a while," Adelaida said, her eyes glinting. She was at heart a sorceress, and she had always been. Her establishment of her magic outsourcing business was a way to sate that itch, but it wasn't quite enough. She needed something like this. Something big.

"As for the physical sample... well, blood's fine, but if you had access to a healer I'd like to ask for something a little bigger so I can study if it's made any physical changes in you...."

"I do have somewhat of an access to a healer, but she's a nurse... I'll never know when she's fully available, and I had to schedule in advance with her for training purposes. So, unless you can wait a bit longer in that, there's no way for me to give a hand literally.", Bastet joked a bit while transferring some of her magic into it and... It didn't take a while lot for the ball to glow vividly, shifting among numerous colors.

"Well, this will do just fine then," Adelaida said. While she would have preferred to have gotten more material, she'd gained plenty from this exchange. And they would never know just how much she'd gained.

After all... the deal was rigged from the start.

Soon the magic ball had enough of a sample, and Bastet still had to spare. Despite the merging, she still felt fine and all. "I was honestly fearing the process would be much worse... Well then, during the preparation time I still had a lot of fun sparring with J too, so not a waste of training I say.", meanwhile Gacha got closer to the ball, looking into it.

Adelaida tucked the ball away. Its purpose was served for today - and it would be of use again later down the line. But for now, it was over. Quick and easy.

"Alright, we've both got what we wanted... Feel free to finish up the crackers and just see yourself out when you please," she said, walking back into the house proper.

The day was just beginning.

"I appreciate the offer, but I feel in the mood for a full course meal, which I will be going to right about now. If you make some interesting findings, specially in regards as to why I was able to absorb Benkei and later any other essence." nobody knew, specially not Bastet herself. It was always assumed it is due to her synergy with them.
