He moved through the station, his glowing blue eyes searching for the office. Aedan could have interned at a lab, but he'd found that he preferred directly helping people in the field. So here he was, having chosen police work over being a scientist, those who didn't know him well would raise an eyebrow, but the few that did know him well didn't question it at all.

He found the office, him and Vata would be interning under the same detecrive. He stood outside the door having decided to wait for Vatar.

Vatar's long golden hair was trailing behind him as he walked down the city street on such a windy day. He was dressed pretty casual and his pockets were lacking its usual weight as he had chosen to leave his Pocket knives at home. Carrying a weapon into the center of security of the island seemed like something a crazy person would do. While that lack of weight made his stomach uneasy a bit it was quelled by the agenda for the day. He was going to be meeting his mentor Mr. Genovese and couldn't be more excited. The guy had been a cop for some time now and was sure to have lots of wisdom that would help Vatar in pursuit of his dreams.

As Vatar finally made it to the front door of the building he took in a deep breath and tied to put on a serious face. He had to hide the child like grin that his face was urging to enforce upon him. He passed through the initial screening allowing himself to be checked and questioned at the front desk before he made his way upstairs to the offices. He walked around for a bit before he finally found his destination. His serious mask broke a bit when he saw that of all people to be at the door it was Aedan. He blew a annoyed breath before giving a disgruntled "Hello." to the boy. Vatar walked past him a bit a gave a small knock on the door to check if his mentor was there.

Angelo wanted to know why everyone was so tall. When he had been told he was getting interns, he'd expected people fresh out of highschool. Instead he got two mini-adults, and one of them wasn't even mini--the blond one was his fucking height, if not his build.

Angelo grumbled to himself, peeking out the front window of the office to where both of his interns had just showed up, one obviously waiting for another.

He wasn't exactly privy to who they were--he knew names but nothing else--but the fact that the one had literal glowing blue eyes told him he wasn't dealing with two totally normal humans.

Angelo waited for one of them--the one without the glowing blue eyes--to knock before he opened the door, leaning out to glance towards the other one.

"Well, you might as well come in."

He didn't, technically speaking, have his own office. He had a cubicle, but cubicles didn't make for much privacy so he'd been loaned one of the empty ones that they saved for when they were on a big case. It didn't have much in the way of personal effects, but it did have a big desk and a bunch of chairs for people to sit in, which was more than he could say for his cubicle.

"Grab a seat. I'm Angelo Genovese, by the way--whatever you want to call me works." If they wanted Angelo, Angelo was fine with him.

He nodded, "hello Vatar," he knew the demigod didn't care for him, perhaps that's why they had been paired up. The ironic thing was Aedan didn't hate him, or really have any opinion about him, he didn't know him well enough to have one.

Aedan entered the room, nodded at Angelo's greeting, "thank you." He took a seat, the glow of his eyes shifted slightly as his mind focused, "I'm Aedan Drago thank you for having us," and he left the greeting at that, short and simple. Some interns would come in and more or less rant about how much of an honor it was to intern under him was, and while that was true, Aedan saw no point in saying it. He was here to work and learn not hero worship.

Vatar nodded as he entered the cubicle seating himself down into a fairly comfortable chair. His mentor was just as he imagined....or at least heard about. He had a look that screamed "I am the law". Vatar fixed his clothing on him a bit and just took note of the office.

It wasnt anything to fancy, but it was still fairly large compared to the other cubicle e had passed on the way here. He wondered if he would be privileged enough to get a space like this in the future. The child like grin tried assaulting his face again and this time a small smirk appeared a bit.

Vatar listened as Aedan gave his tame introduction. Just stating his name and small thanks. He should have at least giving some sign of respect. They were dropped onto Angelo and it wasnt like he couldn't fight to not be a mentor.

Vatar could respect Angelo taking the time outta his life to do this for him. As such when Aedan took his seat Vatar stood a gave a small bow. It wasnt really a sign of respect just a custom he was taught by his master. Many people don't bow anymore but he always appreciated it. He locked eyes with Angelo who was around his size and gave a small introduction.

"Im Vatar Tor,nice to meet you Mr. Genovese. Thank you for agreeing to mentor us." He gave a small smile before taking his seat again. Vatar hadn't really prepared questions as he was sure some would pop up as the weeks passed. The only downside was Aedan. He hoped that his drama magnetism stayed outside and didn't enter the office.

The greetings were expected, but not the bow, and Angelo gave them both little nods. It was the first time he'd mentored for anyone, and he found himself feeling equal parts nervous and woefully unprepared.

Settling in, Angelo took a deep breath--reminding himself that he was obviously trusted, or he wouldn't have been saddled with two students--and got to work.

"So, introductions are probably in order. I'm Angelo - for the record, I have enhanced physical attributes, and the capacity to go invisible, more or less. The island is pretty good about people wanting to keep their powers a secret, but on the force, that's really not an option. If someone can do something, the police need to know about it. If someone's immune to getting shot, it's an important fact that the police need to know. So if you're one of those people who prefers not being open... well, you'll have trouble in the force." Some people had issues with that kind of thing, and Angelo wanted to make it absolutely clear what his--and the force, for the most part--stance was.

Aedan listened intently as Angelo explained that being open with your powers was necessary when being a member of the force, "I understand sir, but I have no such immunities." It was true, physically Aedan was a normal human, he worked out constantly so he was ripped as hell, though he wore clothes that hid it.

"I have two basic abilities, my senses are enhanced so I can track people by scent and I have night vision," these abilities were common here, many beingsb had enhanced senses, "and my body produces an ion based energy, I can use it create shields and constructs or release a blast of it," he said all this calmly with a sense of logic and humbleness, while Aedan had a certain level of confidence, he understood his limits.

Vatar tentatively listened to what Angelo had to say. It all made sense really having hidden powers or traits could hinder your partner or the police force as a whole. As he processed Angelo's powers he realized just how useful that could be. Invisibility could be a major boon in many situations that made physical force a necessity. Part of Vatar was jealous as his powers weren't that great in comparison. Well one of them at least. The other was most likely illegal until he could figure out some more of the earth people's diseases. Though even then infecting people with what he had now was probably a bad thing.

Vatar side eyed Aedan as he did a run down of his abilities. Part of Vatar wanted to roll his eyes as he spoke. Aedan was human, their species seemed to have been made to fail with how poorly their god had crafted them. While some still rose above the rest in terms of standards he could never get over their natural weakness. Most of what Aedan said he had heard before. He mentioned his enhanced ability several times and anyone could notice the glowing eyes. The use of ionic energy however was new. It was a useful ability that could actually benefit the force. This didn't make Vatar anymore impressed but it was useful information.

"Well my powers aren't as useful as your sir. I'm a demigod so some of my physical attributes are above par but not the extent of many others. I also posses the ability to spread any form of disease through physical contact. Normally I would place it on a blade of mine as a extra means of defense. Lastly I have the power to create souls. Alongside this I can see and speak to souls should I ever pass one." Vatar blew a breath as that seemed to be a lot of information, but he wanted to be thorough in his info to make sure Angelo wasnt surprised by anything. Vatar squinted a bit before opening his mouth once more. " Also...I don't tell people this much but I can cut away at a person's soul tearing their senses and connection apart." He leaned back in his chair as it wasnt something he liked telling. It wasnt inherently evil but just never amused him.

"Same deal," Angelo said when Aedan explained his powers. "You can shield. Knowing that your partner is capable of making a shield is a useful thing to know, because it lets you act in a manner that's considerably safer than you would otherwise."

He was speaking from personal experience. He'd nearly died, and only Tybalt's previously-unmentioned wings had kept him from doing so.

"And enhanced senses are a good advantage too, same reason the police force sometimes uses dogs for tracking. It's also a weakness though--strong smells tend to screw up people with strong senses, and the same for everything else."

Flashbangs could play hell on anyone with enhanced senses, for example.

Angelo turned his attention to Vatar as he started to speak, squinting slightly when he mentioned being a demigod.

There was a first time for everything, he supposed.

His powers were a bit harder to process than Aedans, though.

"So, spreading diseases... probably not going to be much use in a police aspect. Making souls, same thing. Cutting someone's soul apart... probably illegal, being honest. That really just leaves seeing souls, which can actually be kind of useful, depending on the case."

And enhanced physical attributes, which was nice.

"Have you two considered what kind of police work you're interested in?"

He nodded as he listened, he knew his abilities would be useful but he was humble and never bragged about then, he'd hurt too many people with them to ever brag, even if they were evil.

"I'll remember to always inform whoever I work with of my abilities," he'd want to know his fellow officer's abilities, so he'd do the same

"I'm hoping to become a normal officer, though I have some interest in detective work," Aedan's main desire was ultimately to help people, and he could think of no better way to do that than joining the police force.

There was the matter of his vigilante work, but that was more him stopping random crimes, as an officer he'd be aiding a system dedicated to dealing with crime.
