Vatsr nodded at Angelo's question. He had always had one goal in mind and that was the MCPD Swat Division. If there was ever a place for him to be a good line of defense against troublemakers it would be with them. Vatar had dreams of being a hero and ascending to his full godhood. At first that was his only reason,but now things were different. Vatar was ready to stop being selfish and help the people who cant defend themselves.


"My goal is to be placed on one of Manta Carlos's Swat Teams. Ive always admired their hard work and grit and I wanna see if I can match up. However I need to spend my time as a Patrol officer so as of right now that is my next step." He was hoping to be placed at the dock station as that seemed to be a good posting but he had no clue how that was decided only that the choice surely wasnt his.

"Can't help you much on detective work," Angelo admitted. "I've never worked as a detective, and really I don't really have plans to. I'd rather be the feet on the ground type, so if you're interested in detective work, I can bounce you to someone else for advice. Same kind of goes with SWAT, although honestly I've got slightly more experience there."

Running with a team into a dangerous situation was something he had experience in, even if he'd mostly ran solo before.

"You are correct though that SWAT members are going to start as ordinary cops," he adds. "So I can help with that pretty easily. I'd say overall, the most important thing to remember is that being a cop isn't all fun and games. A lot of the time it's just boring paperwork. For every case that the average person would consider interesting, you're going to have to deal with a hundred domestic disputes and cases of petty theft. If you're here for excitement, you're going to be bored. Honestly, if you're here to help people and want to feel appreciated, this isn't going to be the job to you either. Part of being a cop is having to do shitty things that only make people upset, like letting someone know that someone they love has been killed. It's difficult and hard to do."

He nodded, he understood, there was no glamour, no heroics, he understood that, "I understand sir, but someone has to do it." All his life Aedan has had a desire to protect people, he didn't know why, but he did, "the police deals with the harsh aspects of life so others won't have to."
"I'm here for the long run sir," he wasn't going anywhere, something deep inside was telling him that this was what he needed to do.
Aedan wasn't really one for long words, he was one who proves himself through actions.

Vatar took in Mr.Angelo's words and just gently nodded his head. He understood that cops...even here...were not a very loved force. He had met enough people on this island to get the feel that like most police forces everyone hates the police until they need them.

Vatar was here to help people. Whether that be telling a person a loved one had died or stopping a kid from stealing a snickers bar,killing injustice before it can fester is just as important as stopping the disease itself. On top of that Vatar,strangely,had and appreciation for the paperwork.

It was boring as hell that much wouldn't change,but it had gave him a sense of calm he couldn't find at home or at work. He even stayed late to help with some of the extra paperwork as long as he had no prior plans. Being calm allowed him to think clearly and more efficiently. It was strange but on this island strange was the new normal...if that even makes sense.

" Well Sir it's my performance as a patrol officer that will allow me to become SWAT. You are a fine cop i've been told so from my eyes you are just what I need for the moment.Plus i can help with your paperwork" Vatar pointed to some folders that he assumed was just paperwork that had to be filed and reviewed.

Well, they'd certainly managed better than the last person he'd had to deal with who wanted to be a cop. That had been a disaster.

This was going much, much better.

"Well, I guess it's time for me to give you guys a tour, then. I'm not going to have you doing any work or anything today--just a tour and back to class or homework or whatever you've got to do. I'll actually show you some basics next week, alright?"

Assuming neither of them argued, a tour would be the first order of business.
