"Excellent. I doubt I need to say this but please ensure any marks you might leave on the walls or ceiling are cleaned up," he said casually as he folded his coat over one arm. Opting to carry it rather than wear it for the moment.

Colten nodded at the servant and he opened the door, poofing away again afterwards. He turned to Prae and noted her still bowing and holding her shoes and socks. Kneeling down to her level he addressed her quietly, "Prae you don't have to hold your bow like that for me. It hides your pretty face. Now, would you prefer to carry those or wear them?" He indicated her shoes and socks. To be honest Colten was going to ask a fair number of questions like that at first. Just in case she actually had a preference other than whatever pleased him.

Meanwhile he pointed into the hallway through the now open door. "This leads to the wing of the manor where my room, my closest servants rooms, and my study are. Likely a portion of the grounds you will become quickly familiar with."

Colten nodded and didn't argue about her carrying the shoes. He wasn't overly particular about footwear int he house unless there was a formal event. Heck, there were a fair number of guests, visitors and even staff who didn't have feet that were especially compatible with shoes anyway.

He gestured for Prae to follow him as he stepped through the doorway into the hall. Continuing the tour as he spoke. "The main foyer does see quite a bit of traffic, as does the banquet room and sitting room adjacent to it. There is a ballroom but that is only used for major functions," he proudly explained as they walked at a leisurely pace. The hallway was decorated with various paintings and other artwork of a decidedly demonic nature. Nothing too graphic but clearly of a certain style.

Soon they stopped at a large blackened wood door with a fancy doorknob. Colten smiled genuinely as he opened the door to reveal one of his most prized rooms. The library. His study was attached off the side of this room but the walls full of a myriad of tomes both ancient and modern made for an amazing sight. At least for those interested in such things. "If i'm not otherwise occupied you will likely find me in this library or in my attached study. As I am a great collector of literary works, and an author myself, you might call this my sanctum."

Colten smiled at Prae's question and clapped his hands together softly in quiet delight. Perhaps more than any other thing in the manor, even the well-stocked library, he was absolutely proud of the Morey family's history of providing refuge for demons on Manta Carlos.

"Currently there are 17 full-time residents and a complement of a dozen..., 13 including yourself now, staff that live here. With varying numbers of guests at any one time," he explained and then knelt down again to be closer to her level. "But you are not responsible for cleaning their rooms. You are going to focus on helping the others with the public areas and otherwise focusing on your room and my private rooms like my study and bedroom. You are still a child and I would like to ensure you get as close to a normal childhood experience as I can manage for you while not working."

Then he patted Prae on the head and continued the tour. There wasnt much to explain about caring for the library. Mostly it was dusting and being extremely careful not to damage any of the tomes.

But eventually they made their way to a smaller, more standard sized cherry red door a ways down the hall from some of the other bedrooms. "This is a very important room Prae. Why dont you open the door and take a look for yourself.

It was a very nice bedroom with ebony wood furniture pieces. A nice full size bed, wardrobe and writing desk among others. Clearly not everything would be particularly useful for Prae but this was in fact her own personal bedroom. The wardrobe even had a few basic sets of clothes and robes, though they would definitely need to purchase her some new clothes. This was just to tide her over until then.

Colten could have sworn that the moment he casually patter Prae on the head the girl perked up a little. And not in the way that she hopped up to do whatever he requested of her either. It was more of a happiness, or as close as he had seen to that anyway.

"Nonsense, you are a far cry from a terrible servant Prae. You are completely correct that this room is for someone of mid to high standing. You."

He paused a moment to let her consider that before putting a hand on her shoulder and urging her to step inside to get a better look. "This will be your private bedroom Prae. Hopefully before too long we'll have you with belongings of your own to put in here but I hope at least some of these clothes will be usable."

Colten listened and then drew Prae further into the room as he sat down on the edge of her bed. "I understand. Thank you for the important information Prae but you do not need to clean your room every day. I think every other or every third day would be plenty for now."

He patted the bed beside him and gestured for her to sit next to him. "Prae I know you only wear what is requested for you to wear but I will probably have my personal assistant help you select some casual attire for when you are not on your official duties or going to school. As for the items in this room or those I may purchase for you, I might own them but they belong to you to do with as you wish."

He moved to gently take her hand in his and pat it with his other. "I think you'll fit in very well here. And dont worry, I will have plenty of tasks for you to complete for me. It's a big house after all. But it is also your home now."
