It wasn't something that Flayace had hoped that would happen. She was nervous and afraid. Her and Lestat had been going out for quite a while now, though this even felt, special to her. Being alone in a room with the love of her life, dancing with masks on their face. Since Lestat wasn't as social as she was, she had settled on doing their own little masquerade, though it wasn't as if she could mistake him for anyone but himself. As she waited for him, she adjusted her dress. A blue, sparkling dress that went out at the waist, with spaghetti straps. She wore a pair of black gloves that went to her elbows, as well as black leggings under her dress. She sighed, taking off her mask and looking at it. It looked like light blue icicles. Falling down and up from her eye holes. Flayace smiled at her mask, before putting it back on her face.

Lestat had been trying his best to be as social as possible with others for his girlfriend. he knew that he wanted to stay with her and he would have to make some sacrifices but at this point he could and would only do so much. Flayace suggested to Lestat a masquerade. he was mostly against it but luckily for him, she agreed to have it just be them for a while. She knew how he felt around others and made an exception. He knew that she was the only one for him and she was the only one he needed in his life. She was truly his first and only love though he would never admit it to anyone since he isn't the best at showing affection.

The room was empty when he walked through. The echoes of his shining black dress shoes bounced from wall to wall and caressed the ears of the two. Lestat held his hands in the pockets of his greyish-black tuxedo. It was slick and smooth as if it had only just been made and pressed. His bow tie, however, was ever so slightly crooked without his knowing. On the inside, Lestat was nervous about this and had no idea whether he looked right or not but it was worth the try for Flayace. He picked out a nice mask that was both grey and black. Every little design on it spoke to him like nothing had ever before. His bright emerald green eyes shined through each eye piece like a gem. His hair was combed back for once in his life and held back by a small layer of gel since it wasn't trained to be nice like this. His black and green tail showed through the pants of the tux with little effort. It seemed to be groomed as well.

As Lestat looked upon Flayace's blue and black attire, he new that she was still as beautiful as ever. She her mask showed the contents of her heart while her dress sparkled like the delight in her eyes. They both seemed to be enjoying the moment even before it had even started. The only other thing that showed through Lestat's thoughts was his nervousness. He wondered if she could see it in his eyes. Trying his best to stay composed without shaking, he held out his hands for her to place her's in and smiled. This was the first time he had actually wanted to be with someone so soundly.

Flayace smiled brightly as she saw Lestat out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head, blushing at how well made he looked. "Wow." She said nervously as she gazed aimlessly at him. She looked over his outfit, his hair, his tail. Every part of him looked perfect to her. "You look really good." She nodded as she quickly took his hand, moving closer to him. "Thank you for coming and being with me." She continued with a smile, holding onto his hand tighter. Flayace looked into his eyes, sensing that he was uneasy. "Are you okay sweetie?" She asked him in a worried tone.

Lestat's mind was racing but at the same time it was calm. It was almost as calm as it had ever been. He continuously thought of one main topic. How was he going to dance when he had not even the slightest experience in such a thing. He had never danced in his life and never had he planned on it. He was graceful in destruction and a prodigy with his powers, so how could he be so incompetent when it came to something that seemed to be simple enough in the first place. This was partly why he was so nervous while looking into Flayace's eyes. He didn't want to embarrass himself, especially wearing something he thought was ridiculous. He felt cramped in his current attire but it was all for a greater reason than his comfort. He wanted to please Flayace and give her a great night.

Lestat's gaze into his loved one's eyes was stopped short when he processed her question. It seemed that she could tell he was worried about something. His eyes did tell it all when its all said and done. Lestat grinned awkwardly at Flayace, showing his slightly sharpened teeth. He looked to the ground as the anxiety and slight embarrassment filled his body. "Um, I don't know how to dance..." He said trying to make sure he wasn't being too whimpy. He looked back to her and made eye contact once again so that she could see him properly. Though he was looking down at the five foot seven inched girl, it seemed natural. Plus, their height difference was cute.

As she continued to gaze at him, she sighed quietly, as she waited for him to reply. He looked lovely, like some knight in shining armor. Her prince. As Flayace heard his words, she smiled at him happily. Raising her other hand, she placed it gently on his cheek, having to go lightly on her tippy-toes, as she didn't want to wear heels. "Aw sweetie, it's alright, you don't have to know." She said to him with a smile. "To be honest, I only know a few moves." She giggled softly, looking into his eyes. "Don't worry, okay?" She nodded to him, lowering her hand to her side.

As she stepped closer to him, she lifted her hand that was entwined in his, spinning in a circle. As she returned to her old position, she smiled brightly at him. "It doesn't have to be formal, just being with you makes it worth it." Moving even closer to him, she nuzzled herself onto his chest and sighed happily.

Lestat felt like it he was truly at home, even more than when he is alone with Flayace at any other time. Today was special for him. He got dressed up for her so that they can do something difference for once. This event was the thing that they needed to state what they meant to one another, but not in words. The expressions, movements, and even their subtle breathing would say it all. Flayace, in her beautiful outfit, made Lestat feel like he meant something to someone for once in his life. His backstory isn't the most beautifully put together but the only thing recognizable is how lonely he felt even when he didn't care about any humans period. She made him feel like he mattered.

She reassured him that not knowing how to dance was perfectly fine, especially with her. She only knew a few steps her self. Lestat's awkward grin turned into a large smile as he looked her in the eye. The warmth of her hand bled through the gloves she wore and it was so comforting. She tucked her head away into his chest with a sigh after spinning around. He couldn't help but chuckle when she did it. Could you blame him? It was cute. He kissed her head as he held her close, with his arms around her. Rocking back and forth, music began to play right on time. It crept in on a low note and slowly rose in volume. An instrumental slow song that was meant to bring couples closer for a slow dance. A dance that would surely show the contents of a person's soul.

Flayace felt so safe, as he wrapped her in his warmth as they embraced. He was so warm, like her own personal fire, one that made her life light up. It was comforting, as if his nervousness and uneasiness calmed her into knowing that he wasn't trying to act perfect. She didn't want him to move away from her, as if this simple gesture between the two of them meant so much more. She was in love, which was something that she loved. She loved depending on Lestat, knowing that he would protect her and be there for her. She wanted to love him for the rest of her life, though it wasn't like she could promise that to him, as anything could happen.

As she heard the music go on, she giggled softly, as the timing was spot on. She smiled brightly to herself, she she had enjoyed the feeling of him kissing her head earlier, getting butterflies in her stomach. Rocking with him, she kissed his chest softly as she stayed glued to it.

Lestat's face was brighter than ever now. The music was soft in his ears, he was alone in the room with his loved one, and he had pretty much no worries at all. he could feel Flayace snuggling up onto him with every little motion they made while swaying to the music. She kissed his chest showing more than just comfort. She showed him that he had nothing to worry about right now and that she wasn't going anywhere. He didn't even have to read her mind to figure that one out. The embrace he had held for so long grew ever so slightly tighter around her. His warmth radiating as if she was sitting next to a little fireplace. Everything was pretty calm.

Eventually the music grew a little faster than it had before. It was still the most peaceful music of all but this newer form of music was a bit more fast paced and required a bit more than just swaying. Lestat, still holding Flayace, wondered what he should do now. It's not like he could try to dance a different way, he had no idea how to dance in the slightest. His heart rate increase just a tad, enough for Flayace to notice since her head was on his chest. His smile hadn't faded in the least but it was evident that it was half anxious and half pure joy.

As they were wrapped in each other's warmth, Flayace could sense every little change that Lestat made. His breathing. His small adjustments. His heart rate. As the music picked up its pace, Flayace felt a change in his heart rate. She couldn't exactly sense why such a change in his heart rate had happened. Maybe he was just nervous, as anyone would be. "Are you alright? Is the music intimidating you?" Flayace said with a short giggle. As she wanted to see his expression, she lifted her head off of his chest, looking up at him. She smiled brightly, wanting to make her vibrant grin make him feel better. "If you want we could try to slow dance? Or maybe just act all funny and dance around wildly." She nodded to him as she put her head back on his chest.
