They were about the same size, so height didn't really matter here. Orange thought for a moment before nodding. "I can do it, though I have to warn you, I might stand on your toes here and there."

This was definitely not a mistake is what she told herself when she bought her dress. This was going to be a fun evening and she was going to enjoy herself. She wasn’t sure how much of that was true but she was excited to she how the evening would pan out. As she walked her way through the crowded room, she took time to admire the decorations. The entire place was something out of storybook.

She check her masked one more time before waiting a little ways near the freshment table. She wasn’t sure what to do in situations like this. Did she just randomly ask a stranger to dance? Should she just wait until some asked her? She turned away from the dance floor and grabbed something to drink. This was going to be a long night if she didn’t calm down.

Marcus was at the table, wearing a suit and a Mask when the Woman appeared. Usually, he didn't dance, but he had learned back in Cambridge, and tonight it seemed he wouldn't be out of place.

Stepping over to her, he bowed and extended a hand. "Excuse me, but is it rude to ask for a dance?" Since when did he become so cool?

She blinked surprised at how quickly she found a dance partner. Smiling politely at Marcus she returned his bow with a small curtsey and accepted the offered hand. “Not at all, that is one of the reason I came to night after all.” It dawned on her how much confidence a mask could a girl.

“I love your bow-tie by the way.”

The woman in her top hat and suit had reached the refreshments table, and it was ridiculously crowded. For a moment she considered if mowing her way through that crowd was worth it. The scent of the food, however, convinced her and she slipped into the crowd, her elbows working their magic. She got some annoyed glances, but she made sure she didn't ruin any outfits or break any ribs.

She got to the food, and made a small face of disgust at the sweet treats, instead focusing on the salty side of the table. She took herself some small sandwiches and chicken, and as she took something to drink she just saw a man ask a woman to dance. She moved away fast enough, but that got her thinking. No one would probably ask her to dance, so if she wanted to get a shot at the dance floor she'd have to be the assertive one.
Well, after she finished eating her chicken.

"Thanks," He said. This was probably the first person not to assume he was a waiter. "And I like your dress too." Marcus extended an arm for her to hold on to, as he was told a gentleman should. "After you, my lady Dorothy?"

That last part was a joke. He had seen she was wearing red shoes, and being the book nerd he was, Marcus couldn't help himself.

She snickered as she took his offered arm and walked onto the dance floor. The real challenge was not tripping over the gentlemans feet. She was graceful until she actually started paying attention, so she figured she’d just allow him to lead. “Dorothy huh? I assume you’ve either saw the book or movie...I think theres a comic book adapation well.”

"Book, mostly." He nodded at Dorothy. "Parent's didn't like the movie." Once they reached the floor, Marcus put an arm around her waist and began to lead her in the dancing. "So, Dorothy, what brings you here of all evenings? I assume it wasn't just for a dance with a stranger?"

Squeezing her hand when she mentioned doing things wrong. He wasn't expecting himseld to the best dancer to live. It had been a few years. "Don't worry about it, just try to have fun with it." He told her, to reassure her that he wouldn't mind if she couldn't dance very well.

Once the reached the dance floor, he would pull on her arm, firmly enough to bring her closer to him. His other arm would slip to her side, as she was pulled towards him. Snaking around her hip and his hand coming to her lower back. His hand that had led her over to the floor, now turning to change the grip with her hand to bring her in position to dance. "I'll go slow." He told her, moving into step at a pace she could follow.

He'd slip into the ball, wearing a nice black and white suit and a matching white mask, it'd been a while since he'd been to one of these. His nose would twitch as it picked up the different scents and his ears would pick up the different sounds.

Making his way to the table he'd grab a cup of punch and take a sip before turning to the crowd, his sharp eyes looking over everything, bis ears picking up the sounds. He had a mission tonight and he was going to fulfill it, this was going to be fun.
