She couldn't make her mouth work and instead just watched him walk away. She suddenly became aware of wet stuff on her cheeks, and touched her hand to them, surprised to find herself outwardly crying for the first time in at least a year. She sniffled louder than she had planned, and then moved inside, shutting her door.

Then a wave of anger came at herself for being too stupid to say anything. She shoved all of the stuff she had on the top of her dresser onto the floor, and it made a loud crash. And then she slid down the door until she was on the floor and buried her head in her arms, sniffling quietly.

Chris had been walking extremely slowly, but he had turned the corner and Ray's room was out of sight. Out of memory it was not and he was still dwelling on how wrong everything went when he heard the crash. Not even knowing whether or not it had come from Ray he sprinted over anyways.

"Ray? Is everything okay? I heard a crash. Did you fall or something?" He tried the doorknob but something was blocking the door. Stupid Chris! He never should have left!

Ray stood when she felt the door against her back, and jumped out of the way as it swung open, revealing her slightly teary face. She wiped self conciously at her face. She sniffed and looked up at him with her mouth set in a stubborn line. "No. I'm not okay." she said more shakily then she had meant, tears threatening to spill over again.

She looked at the mess she had made of her floor and sighed. "And now my room's a mess." she stated, sniffing again. She looked into his eyes. "I don't want to be just friends, but I don't know how to be anything more." As another tear streaked down her face, she stomped in frustration with it and wiped at it angrily.

Chris stood a little uncertainly, not quite sure what to do at that point. When Ray had finished speaking he pulled the girl towards him and enveloped her in a loose hug, resting his chin on her head. "I'm glad you don't really just want us to be friends." It had been such a rough morning, and any plans that Chris had initially thought up wouldn't fit in anymore. It didn't really matter. He didn't mind just standing here with Ray in his arms for the whole day.

Poor Ray. He must have messed her up so much. "I'm sorry about Kaycee. I would have warned you about her if I had ever thought she would come slithering back." Stupid Kaycee, the girl couldn't leave well enough alone. He wouldn't be surprised if she showed up again. "If we're not just friends than we get to do more fun stuff, like this." He kissed her softly on the forehead, than on the nose, before planting a kiss on her lips

Ray was enjoying the kiss when she heard someone unlock their door. She pulled away from the kiss and pulled Chris inside, shutting her door quickly. She leaned against the door and grinned. "We have a girl who lurks the halls every half hour to make sure there are no boys." she explained, giggling quietly, a flush on her cheeks still.

She pushed him into her bathroom and shut the door on him, answering the knock on the door. After a muffled conversation, the moniter left, and Ray knocked on the bathroom door. "You can come out now."

Chris was about to utter some reply when he was pushed into the bathroom. He managed to stop the 'Hey!' that was threatening to be shouted, realizing that any exclamations would get them busted. So he waited in the bathroom, hoping the monitor wouldn't insist on a check. He heard the short conversation while contemplating how messed up their romantic encounters were. The first time had been an accident, the second she was drunk, the third was fine and the last had been after he messed with her head. Well, Kaycee had but it was technically the same thing.

He waited to be freed from his tiled prison and when Ray opened the door he grinned at her. "Thanks for rescuing me." Now to make up for lost time. "What were we doing before we were interrupted? Oh yeah, I remember now." He took a step closer to her and kissed her again.

She'd been about to respond when he kissed her again. She felt a rush down her spine and moved into him so that there was no space between them and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her eyes fluttered closed, and all she wanted to do was keep kissing him.

And then the warning bells went off in her head, she broke the kiss and reluctantly stepped back, flushed, her heart beating fast. "Um, maybe not here. I mean this is my room. Maybe we should leave." she said breathlessly, brushing her hair out of her eyes self conciously.

Chris stood back, a little out of breath, and nodded. "Yeah, I can see why you'd think that." He grabbed her hand, giving her knuckles a quick kiss before continuing. "Where should we go?" He let go of her hand and pressed his ear to the door, listening for any moniters.

The coast seemed clear so he opened the door and stuck his head out, looking both ways before moving back into the room with Ray. "Let's just get out of here first, before we get busted." He wondered where they should go, and what they should do. He remembered having plans but Ray made his mind all scrambley.

Ray smiled and took his hand, lacing her fingers in his. Then she tugged on him, and took off running, with him in tow. She didn't stop running, nor did she let go of his hand before they were on the lawn. Then she purposefully tumbled onto the ground, taking him with her.

She took her hand back and rubbed her knuckles thoughtfully. "Jeez Kaycee had a hard face." she laughed and closed her eyes. "I think this is like, the first time I've ever bruised my knuckles from one punch."

Chris diligently followed Ray onto the lawn, tripping and falling when she pulled him down. He came to a rolling stop a foot away from her and sat looking up at the clouds before log rolling himself back over to her. He rested his head on his arm and turned to look at her. I won't be surprised if I'm a walking grass stain after that little tumble." He joked good naturedly.

When she mentioned something about her knuckles being bruised Chris took her hand in his and scrutinized it before gently kissing one of the non bruised knuckles. "It's because it's made of stone, just like her heart." Chris grumbled, twirling a blade of grass between his thumb and index fingers. "What shall we do todayyy?"
