Noticing that dating probably wasn't the best thing to talk about, she quickly dropped that topic of conversation. Lightly scratching her head, she let out a bashful chuckle as she sighed. "Kueria forgets too many things actually. Most of the time, she can't remember names, where she puts things and places too." That being said, it was oddly comforting to hear someone tell her that she wasn't, in fact, a dumb bird.

How strong are you in human form.

Come to think of it, if it was anything she could remember was the fact that she used to be really good at fighting - a skill which has deteriorated significantly over the years. "Kueria..." As she continued to think back, her consciousness eventually became shrouded in a haze. "I... I believe I used to be the best fighter my race had. However, right now I doubt I can do that much." Giving her head a few good shakes, she snapped back to her child-like composure "Anyway, Kueria still wants to spar with Eein sometime even though she wasn't as strong as before! Is that okay with Eein?"

"Don't worry, I'm sure your memory will improve, school will help with that a lot." He'd take a sip of his drink. "Like I think you're already improving, you've never forgotten my name," indeed, she's never once gotten his name wrong.

He'd hum in thought, making a mental note about what she said about being a fighter in the past but not asking about it yet. "Ok, then, I'll reserve us a training room," he'd smile. "We can spar and train there."

The waitress would appear then, setting down their food, Eein's stomach immediately growling loudly at the sight and smell of it all. "Yes, let's eat," he'd say with a grin, "let's eat."

“Kueria never forgot Eein’s name because its so cool! She never heard a name like that before!” To be fair, she never heard many names before but still, it was a valid point of view.

The girl instantly fixated on her food the second it was placed down. The ribs looked absolutely delectable - brownish tints adorning the edges of the bone, a few fries lining the plates, all topped off with (alarmingly) red sauce which dripped from the bulk of the meat. Not wasting a single second, she dug in.

An array of tantalising flavours gushed fourth to enlighten her senses. Sweet, sour, salty all combined into one single masterpiece. Closing her eyes, she allowed herself to simply pause and endulge in the heavenly taste swirling around her mouth. Not long after though, the spice kicked in. Kueria quickly gulped down whatever meat remained in her mouth as she grasped for the ice water, doing her best not to fail her arms about as she did so. Instinctively puffing her increasingly rosy cheeks out she exclaimed “it’s so painful to eat!! Kueria never tried anything like this before! Its so delicious but theres this weird feeling after that makes her want to drink water.” A short moment later, she finally managed to put two and two together. There was a single word on the menu that she completely glossed over, unfortunately for her it was more important than she originally thought.

“Is this what they call... spicy?”

He'd smile. "Thank you, I think Kueria is a really pretty name," he'd take a sip of his water. "The dragon community I'm a part of, a lot of times they get their names from the sound of the wind," it was a unique way to get names.

Eein would watch her take a bite of her, a look of concern appearing on his face. "You ok?" he'd slide his ice water over to her. "Yeah that's the spicy part, not everyone likes it," he'd look between their two meals. "You wanna trade? I'm fine with spicy foods."

If she agreed he'd switch the two plates around. "Eat some breadsticks, they'll help, and I'll get you some ice cream to help," he'd wave down a waiter, requesting that some ice cream be brought out.

"P...Pretty name?" she rasped, clearly taken aback. Her face would get redder but considering the fact that the spice earlier on already did quite a number on the girl, her expression was the most noticeable change. "Kueria doesn't have a pretty name, Eein is too nice!" Gently placing her utensils down, she brought her hands up and bashfully waved them in front of her face in a rapid motion.

they get their names from the sound of the wind

Come to think of it, Eein did sound like a possible noise the wind would make. However, the connection was so subtle the girl never noticed it. "That's so cool! Kueria thinks she got her name from a long line of wind fae names. Last week she suddenly remembered that, all her wind fae names ended with an "ah" sound. Kueria still can't remember much from then though, she only remembers a really big house and being trained by a super strict guy!"

You wanna trade? I'm fine with spicy foods.

Weakly nodding her head, she gladly let him swap their plates as she mumbled an apology. As she slowly consumed the breadsticks, she heard him order an ice cream. Perking up, she tilted her head ever so slightly as she enquired "Eein, what is the ice cream?"

He'd chuckle. "But it is a pretty name, it's also kinda exotic," at least it sounded exotic to him. "I don't think I've ever heard a name like it before," he'd take a sip of his soda.

The dragon would nod. "You're memories seem to slowly be coming back, that's good," he'd eat breadstick. "School is probably helping with that, and I think your memory in general is getting better." He was happy things were getting better for her, he imagined she'd been struggling with some things.

"Hey, don't worry, I like spicy foods so it's no problem," he'd take a bite of the spiced meat to show that he was fine with it. "As for the ice cream," he'd grin, "wait and see, I think you'll like it." Soon enough to the waitress would appear, setting a bowl of vanilla ice cream down for the fae girl.

"Its usually a dessert but it's good to eat after spicy foods," he was kind of excited to see her try it.

"Kueria's memories coming back is a good thing?" The girl paused as she let the silence settle whilst she thought. What if she didn't want to remember? After all, she was contented with where she was now - starting afresh in a new school, learning how to interact with people all over again, and relishing in the serene parts of life was fun. It was more enjoyable than she'd ever thought possible; what if regaining her memories changed that? The fact remained that she might still be an empty shell of whom she once was but Kueria was more than glad to continue living as a husk if that meant things would continue as the way they were. The smile plastered on her face faltered ever so slightly as she continued to ponder. Taking in a slow inhale, she spoke in a genuine yet quavery tone.

"Kueria doesn't know if she wants to remember." Peering up from her food, she rested her gaze on Eein. "What if Kueria's... different? What if she's suddenly not so happy anymore?"

Giving her head a few good shakes to lighten the heavy atmosphere, she quickly turned her attention to the ice cream. The fae leaned in until she was just about eye level to the white, cotton-like ball. Lightly picking the spoon up, she took a scoop and licked small amount off. Before she could process its flavor, she flinched back in shock. "It's cold!" Consuming the whole spoonful, her lips curled back into a smile as she felt the spice dissipate at the ice cream's icy touch. "But it's so nice and sweet" she swooned as she glanced back up. Sliding the bowl forward slightly, she then asked: "does Eein want some?"

He'd hum in thought. "Well.....people always change at least some, but they're still them, so I think you'd still be you." He'd nod. "And if some of the memories make you sad, well you'll have friends to help with that. If you ever remember something that makes you sad, I'll be there for you," he knew what it was like to have unpleasant memories.

The dragon would chuckle. "Sure I'll have a bite," using his spoon he'd get some ice cream and eat it. "It's really good," he'd smile. "Its really good for after you've eaten spicy foods, or when you just want something sweet."

Tilting his head, he'd get a little ice cream on his finger, leaning in he'd dab a small amount on the tip of her nose. "Sweet like you," he'd say with a small chuckle.

A wave of unexplainable contentment trickled to her fingertips. “Really? You won’t be disappointed if Kueria turns out to be... different?” If she didn’t even know who she was, she’d never expect her friend to stay with her through all the confusion. The girl slowly settled back into her cheery composure as she exclaimed: “Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you so much!”

Taking another scoop of ice cream, she straightened her back as she leaned in a little closer to her food. “Ice cream is amazing! Kueria can’t believe what she missed out on!”

Sweet like you

Come again? The fae froze as her mind scrambled to process those words. “Kueria? Sweet?” With her cheeks becoming increasingly dyed in all the shades of a salient sunset, she gently placed her spoon down and cupped her face. “Ahh no! Eein’s the sweet one!” Her wings begun to involuntary flutter to the rhythm of her heartbeat as she fidgeted in place for a few moments.

“Sorry, Kueria isn’t used to being called sweet, Eein really is too nice!” After a few failed attempts of licking the ice cream off her nose, the fae peered back up to face him as her wings lightly embraced the edges of her shoulders.

Eein would smile. "Like I said, we all change some," he'd tilt his head, "but you'll always be you Kueria."

He'd chuckle a little at her wings flapping and her attempts to lick the ice cream from her nose. "I can be a bit prickly sometimes," he'd slide a napkin to her, "but thank you for thinking I'm sweet too." The dragon would take a bite of his food and then a drink of his soda.

"So, besides being sweet, what have you been up to?" he'd ask with a tiny chuckle, eating a bit more of his food. "Anything interesting going on at school?" he imagined she was loving all the magical stuff.
