Jude was really, really hoping his new challenge was going to go better than the last one. His last one? A disaster, and he'd been forced to take several days off to get himself together. He wasn't sure if he really was, but Gyan had shown interest in Jude getting back out there, and he'd effectively picked Jude up to his house to bring him out for a challenge.

He'd also brought a friend. A man who didn't introduce himself, opting to smile politely as he watched Jude stop by the bench, waiting for the man he was supposed to be getting into a challenge with.

Augustus, dressed in his regular suit, didn't wait for the boy to introduce himself before waving his wand is a simple greeting. "I'm Augustus Tooth. I'm here for the Challenge?" It sounded well rehearsed, and frankly, bored. He had a meeting with a client later, so he couldn't stay too long.

Because of the Nature of his work, Augustus has opted to leave the girls in his apartment, though he would be surprised if they didn't break anything.

((I don't have an Augustus Template yet, sorry))

Okay. Right to the point then. Jude could understand that, and he shared a quick glance over his shoulder towards where Gyan sat with his friend, receiving a nod in turn.

"Alright," Jude said. "Twenty questions. I'll pick a thing--general, not specific, like 'handgun' rather than 'M1911', and only things from earth. You'll have twenty yes or no questions to narrow it down, and guess what the thing is. Once we're done, we'll flip, and you'll pick a thing with me guessing. If only one of us guesses the thing, they win. Otherwise, it's whoever guessed it faster. Unless you object, I'll start, and we can get this underway."

He'd already picked out his object, holding it in his mind's eye.

Before agreeing, Augustus went through the rules in his mind. It was a child's game. "Alright."

Unlike some people he knew, Augustus had no abilities to do with the mind, nor did he have any sort of protection against mental attacks. He was just supposed to believe this kid would fight fairly?

Despite this, He had to trust the guy, at least for now. "You can begin. We can only ask one question at a time yes?"

He knew that could count as question #1, but verification was key.

Jude certainly wasn't counting it as one of the questions.

"I mean, you can ask as many as you want in a row. It'd just be smarter to do them one at a time, so you can adjust your answers accordingly," Jude explained.

There was a small amount of discussion between the two watching Regalia on Jude's side, and he spared a quick glance over his shoulder, unclear on just what was happening. He definitely got the sense he was being... what, judged?

Probably.

"Fine. If the answers are to be yes and no," He started, emphasizing the words Yes and No. "Then This shall be my first question."

Leaning forward in his seat, The Lawyer grinned at the child in front of him. "Listen carefully, because I will not repeat it. Is this item used by Sentient beings specifically, on this island or beyond the veil during peaceful situations, or to be more specific, every day? This means that the Object in question has to be something used by Humans, thus not abstract or alien in origin, and is not centrally focussed on damaging beings or property."

That was. Okay. That was a question. It was a very, very long, very lawyerly question that summarized down to...

"Are you asking if it's a household item? The answer's yes."

So long. So lawyerly. Good lord.

Augustus grunted in acknowledgement, grinning. He was asking a bit more than if it was just a Household object. It also stated that it couldn't be something destructive, so it removed the majority of the items commonly found in a kitchen. One question down.

"I appear to have startled you. don't worry, this one is much more simple to wrap your head around. Is it something a child can be found using? A modern child with all the restrictions and hoo-ha they have nowadays." When he was a child, it was almost expected for him to know how to use a knife. While that wasn't a possible option in this game, he still had to make sure.

Alright. So far, all his questions were more or less standard, and the more Augustus spoke, the more Jude became convinced that he'd accidentally just played himself. Because the only thing that really mattered was what his actual question was.

If Jude wanted to - if he really wanted to - he could absolutely play with that. But he didn't. He was trying to play for fun. Trying to take things less seriously.

"Yes," Jude said. A child could definitely use it.

Augustus nodded. Formulating his next question. "Will this be something I will be expected to handle once this game finishes and I go home?" when he said his earlier question, Augustus realised just how much of a bind he was putting himself in, hopefully, this question untied the knot that was this game.
