Shiro sat by himself in the lunchat room. It wasn't that he wasn't socialble, he just wasn't sure about all this. No one smeared at him or insulted him under their breath. He stayed friendly back home as a way to insult the snooty pure blood elves, now that no one cared about his mixed blood he wasn't to sure how to react.

He turned back to his food, some sort of beef pasta he had grabbed without thinking. He ate it slowly methodically, it wasn't something he was used to, but it was good. He unknowingly started huming a song he remembered from back home, some song his mother used to sing. A few people gave him odd looks as he hummed but he didn't care.

Kuni looked over the room slowly filling up with students, holding her tray in both hands. There weren't that many free seats left and she did not want to disturb an existing clique's lunch, so she sought out others who looked more quiet and occupied with their food. Finally she sat down in front of a boy who hummed something, she did not mind.

"Hope it's okay if I sit here.", Kuni said to him with a soft smile, noticing that he had something not entirely human about him. It was not rare in this school of course, but she still couldn't help but stare a little, needing a moment before figuring out what exactly were the features which seemed a bit odd. Minding her own business she then started to eat her chicken breast with peas and carrots.

He smiled, "make yourself at home." A lot of people found his accent very strange, he grew up speaking both Elven and Japanese so it was needless to say a unique one.

"I'm Shiro Selvan, I've only been here around a week," he loved talking to people, but he was trying to not scare her off by being overly friendly. He took a bite of his food.

He chuckled, "don't worry about the staring, I know it's out of curiosity," he took a sip of his soda, "I'm a half-elf, my mother was human, the tattoo on my cheek and head represent my clan." He took another bite.

"There's no reason to worry, you'll adjust to being around the supernatural."

Kuni smiled back, glad that the boy did not mind. She could tell that he was Japanese to some part as well, his explanation made sense. "I guess it's not too difficult to tell that I'm new too, huh. Sorry for staring." She said it even though he had told her it's okay. It was nice to meet people who were friendly and wanted to talk, so far Kuni had not made any friends yet. "Oh that's interesting. I didn't know elves existed. Is there some spell to hide from human eyes or did you just cover the ears? Or lived somewhere else entirely? And what's your clan like?" Kuni stopped, noticing she was talking too much. "Sorry if my questions annoy you. I should just look for a book about them in a library. I don't mean to be disrespectful, really."

He let out a small laugh, "your curiosity is good, means you want to learn. Yes elves exist. They stay hidden differently depending on where they are in the world."

"There are magics called glamours that can make supernatural beings look human is there not shapeshifters," he took a sip of his soda, it was so nice talking to someone. "but my clan lived in an underground city called Undercity."

"It was kind of like this, a place where the supernatural could gather, it was built by dwarves," he took a bite of his food, he was enjoying this conversation. "It was lit by magical lamps, we even had farms down there."

Kuni looked at him while eating her lunch, listening a little fascinated. "That's so interesting, if it's allowed I'd love to see photos of that place. Especially since I would have thought that... um... species? Is that the right term? Species like dwarves and elves would live exclusively in Europe. Really, all of this..." She waved her fork around the room. "...is making me realize how little I knew. It's hard to not let the legends and myths influence one's judgement though."
She paused for a bit to eat, Kuni did not want it to get cold after all. "Not sure how the etiquette is around here but I guess it's a rather casual topic usually? Anyway I'm just an ordinary human... kinda... I can heal people, which is kinda nice. But no supernatural beings in my bloodline or events in my past that would explain why. I'm glad it's just healing though, I wouldn't even know what to do if I could throw fireballs." She giggled.

Shiro smiled, "we were much more spread out than you'd think. We aren't native to Japan. The Undercity started out as a colony a long time ago. Eventually it became a sort of safe haven."

Shiro shook his head, "just healing? That's something truly amazing, so many beings have developed harmful abilities, fire blasts, lightning bolts, the list just goes on and on. But you, even if you had no choice, your abilities are of more value than any other. As yours saves lives."

Shiro took a bite of his food and a sip of his food, "I mean look at me, I can control animals.....who does that help? No one really. It's actually a pretty useless ability. Let's say I was injured, how is me being able to make a deer do what I want going to help? It wouldn't, but your power would save my life."

Kuni nodded learning more about those who lived hiding from the humans, making a mental note to ask Shiro even more about it later. A whole new world had opened up for her, bigger than she could have imagined.

Her cheeks turned pink as she saw his reaction to her powers, not expecting anyone to talk like that about them. "You're exaggerating. I'm not very good at it yet either, but maybe the classes can help. I think others are just as important, there are beings which are very dangerous and it's good to have people who can protect everyone, too, even if their powers are basically only weapons. Mine is useful... and valuable too I guess but I can only pick up what is left, not stop a monster or demon on a rampage. Even if I had offensive powers I'd be way too scared to fight though. So I guess my role is fine."

Kuni looked at her plate with still some food left. "Whew... I'm full." She then leaned back in her chair, looking at Shiro. "Maybe it's not the most obvious but I bet if you get a little creative it can be an amazing gift. Tracking, helping you with their strength, saving you when you're in water, distracting... it's super versatile actually. And kind of cute, you're like a Disney princess. Um, I'm not sure if you know those movies..."

Shiro laughed at what her comments about his abilities, "I guess your right...and yea I know the movies. Not enough healers I think though, plenty of fighters, I learned how to use a sword. I even brought my family sword with me. Plenty of fighters and magic weapons not enough healers."

"If your interested I can show you my sword, in English it's name translates to Purifier. And I have pictures of the Undercity," he took a bite of his food.

"Lots of classes here on the supernatural, I'm taking one on vampires, I actually never saw one until I got here." He gave her a smile, it was so nice having a conversation with someone who wouldn't insult him over his mixed blood.

"I've been wanting to head into the city, do a little exploring, it's nice living in a city without a ceiling," a poor joke but he liked it.
