Hazel could see her falling asleep during reading. Honestly she did that sometimes as well when studying or doing commissions. Usually because she either wakes up still there or Haru teases her about it later in the morning.

"My cousin was a musician as well as a reader. We have her piano and books still here." She has been meaning to learn how to play it for a while. Well, relearn, but that was when she was a kid. "I haven't tried Spark drakens before. Are they from this world or yours? And I am not a fan of soda. The carbonated drinks go right through me, then I spend most of the day peeing. Although I do enjoy sprite and the other similar kind of tasting drinks.

"They're from my world," she said happily. "Draken fruits come in different kinds. Spark is just one of them. They have this tingly, tangy taste and the trees they grow from can shock you if you're not careful."

The fruit also had the effect of energizing whoever ate it, so it quickly became Lorencia's favorite.

"Soda makes you pee a lot?" she repeated, chuckling. She didn't know the drinks here caused that side effect. "Are you sure you're just not drinking too much?

"I've tried Sprite. When I saw it in a glass, I thought it was just bubbly water."

Yeah, that was what she thought. At least it was her best guess if they weren't from this world. She didn't mind the tangy taste, quite fond of it actually. "Well, the name makes sense then. I would like to try one at some point if you are able to get one here."

"Yeah, it basically is just flavored bubbly water. With a lot of other chemicals in there, of course. And no, I don't drink a lot. A small glass is enough to shake me up, to uh, put it lightly." That was a punishment she would suffer sometimes from losing bets. When she was 6ish, but it still made for some stressful moments.

"My mom was the same. Though she loved coke, so it was a double age sword for her. My dad didn't have that problem. He hated honey though. So I always secretly gave it to him. And usually was swiftly punished for it."

A light bulb went off in Lorencia's head. It never occurred to her to bring anything from Sol to Manta Carlos. No one would mind, right? It would be a great way to introduce others to what Sol had. If only they had show and tell in class... No matter! "When it's harvest time, I'll be sure to bring back some for you!"

She wondered what their bubbly water was made of here. Some seemed to bite her back, and she wondered if that was because it was infused with electricity like the spark drakens, or something else. Acid maybe? No, that wouldn't be it, it would have melted through the can. What ever it was, it must be the cause of the bubbles that seem to just appear in the liquid.

"Oh? Do you and your father play jokes on each other then?" she giggled a little at the thought. "I used to do that a lot with mom."

Hazel sipped her coffee, smiling a bit. She was looking forward to trying this fruit. Even if it did electrocute her. Though she would prefer not to of course, but it would be great to try a fruit from another plane. It would probably have a weird taste, or make her sick or something. But if she tried it, then she could tell others.

"No, not really. Well, I used to, but my parents were both fans of punishment by spanking. So, when I almost always went too far, it hurt a lot. Of course, I also played a lot of pranks on my maids and butlers. It was a great giggle with my friend when we left a maid in a wedgie. Didn't get as funny when the house shook at the scream of my mother. 'Agatha Arlnest, Agatha you are in so much trouble, Agatha, why is your father's underwear pink.' When they got really mad, their faces got so red. But after an hour, we would cuddle and apologize. My mom knew I'd do it again. So did I, but we had some good laughs. Like the time I tricked the mailman into wearing a dress. My father saw him and just started going nuts laughing...."

She let out a small sigh, looking down. Wow, she never went off about her parents before like this. Made her miss them a bit more.

Maids and butlers? Hazel must really be important or very rich. That or maybe having the luxury of personal staff here was a normal thing. Conversations rarely went there, so Lorencia wouldn't know. Or there could be really old people where she lived, which would make sense too.

"Agatha?" Lorencia asked with a little sidewards tilt of her head. "You must have two parts to your name then? Is it Agatha Hazel or Hazel Agatha?"

Contemplating on Hazel's family, it seemed like they really got along well together. Lorencia was a stranger to spanking as punishment since she was rather well behaved, and any damage she did were on things too easily fixed by magic. Which was true for most things in actuality. With plenty of people all eager to find uses for their magic, repairs were one of the most prevalent past times.

"Sounds like you and your family are happy people!" she said with a smiling chuckle.

Hazel sipped her drink, setting it down. "Oh, well, kind of. My full name is Agatha Hazel Arlnest. My mother always called me Hazel, and it just kind of stuck with me. I personally like it better, but I still enjoy my first name."

"And I mean, I don't consider my family too be happy.... M-Mainly because they are all dead. My parents were killed when I was a kid by witch hunters. And then I tried to kill him later, and that sparked a war with our families. Now I am the last of my family. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that earlier before I started talking about my family..."

"They both sound lovely actually," Lorencia said, taking another sip. "They're fun to say together, but I don't want to annoy you by saying it repeatedly." She stuck with reciting those names in her head. 'Agatha', with the single vowel in every syllable was just fun for her for some reason. Maybe because it made her jaw do something like she was chewing something with an open mouth, which was always a silly sight for her.

The mood went a bit stale however when Hazel revealed that her family was dead. "O-oh... I'm... I'm sorry to hear that." She kind of wished that her cousin was here. She was never any good with reacting to news like that. Now Devias... he can keep cool in these situations, he'd know what to say. She was worried that she might say something that'll make Hazel not like her anymore.

Lorencia looked worried for her actually. What if this triggered some bad memory? What'll she do then? "Y... You know, back home. My grandma always told me that since we were one with the void and the void flowed within our veins, loved ones who were lost will never leave you if you don't allow yourself to forget them. I know it's not the same... but... I... I'm sure there is something just as strong for you and your family that ties you together."

Lorencia scratched the back of her head, a bit nervous, a somber tone in her voice. "Sorry, that might not be a lot of help..."

Hazel was a little happy that Lorencia enjoyed saying her name at least. A little bit of lightheartedness for this conversation. And now Lorencia seemed to be acting weird now. Made sense given what the subject is though. She should have just let it be, now things got awkward between the two of them.

As she was sipping her coffee, she froze, just for a second. It reminded her of the previous year. During the bon fire event she saw her parents, giving her that disapproving look. Was that real? No, not here. She shook her head, setting her cup down. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. Let's change the subject. Like the void in your veins. Is that like blood for you then or is it a metaphor?"

A bit of relief came to wash over her as the suggestion to change topics came up. It was now about the void in her blood. A topic that was never much of an interest for Lorencia. That is, before she found out that most Earth blood was red. And much like nearly everything found here, wasn't magical.

"Um... well... The void is technically in our blood since it's what's responsible for making it have magical properties. Our teachers went on and on about how it used to be so different from what we had now. Like, before our small little world got created. I sort of... slept through most of the lessons," she said with a nervous grin. "But like everything else that got pulled into the Void, it got charged with magic. It formed a kind of connection with the void itself, and that was something we all shared. And then there was something about magic not being made out of nothing, the energy is just moving around, getting used when a spell is cast, and then dissipates into other forms... I think..."

This was embarrassing. Her own heritage and she couldn't even properly explain it! "The principle is like that. Magic is just swirling around everywhere, gets absorbed, lingers around in our system and gets out, then something or someone else gets it. Um... I'm sorry, I should have paid attention more..."
