"Just make sure to catch me," she laughed and stood.

With a deep breath, Maddie glanced at Laetus before she leaped off the building. It had to be the dumbest and most terrifying thing she had ever done. Dumber yet, Maddie was looking down when she did it.

She screamed, naturally, and covered her face with her hands, juuust in case Lae didn't catch her in time.

And he didn't. Splat. Story over. XD

She fell seemingly longer than she probably expected. Was he going to catch her? How was she falling so long? If she opened her eyes, she would find she was in a portal loop, falling through a few times before he finally floated out and caught her, letting himself be carried most of the way down the buildings length before he would be able to stop. A sudden stop would have been like hitting a wall. This way, the momentum was controlled.

Maddie was shaking in his arms; hands cupped to her mouth. At this point, she was only making strangled sounds. She reached her right hand out and held onto his shirt for dear life.

The look she gave him was clearly a 'this is never happening again'. She buried her face in his chest. At least she wasn't crying. Completely.

He seemed confused for a moment. This was her idea. He didn't expect a reaction like this. Laetus let himself drift till they were settled solidly on the ground and once there, wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her back gently. "It's alright, it's alright. You're safe, I've got you, and I would never let you fall..."

Maddie finally calmed down, but she didn't stop clinging to him.

"S-Sorry," she said without thinking, rubbing her face on his shirt to rid herself of any stray tears.

"T-That was f-fun." She nodded unconvincingly.
