He'd blink in surprise when she grabbed his hand, blushing a bit as they walked, it was obvious she didn't mean anything by it but he was bit shy. "I see," he'd say as she explained how she was the only one of her kind built, "you're unique then..well..I think you'd be unique anyways, there's only one of everyone after all."

Once they'd arrived he'd order his food and take his seat at the table with Sasha. "Thank you," he'd say, giving her a grateful smile, "who knows how long I'd have been wandering for if you hadn't helped me." He'd enjoyed looking around the station but that didn't make being lost an enjoyable experience.

"So you're a student?" he'd tilt his head as he spoke, eating a bit of his food. "What grade are you in? You look around my age," he knew physical appearance could be deceiving, he'd grown up in a society of immortals, but her uniform indicated she was a student.

Sasha looked slightly downward, deep in thought. It is indeed true, that no organic lifeforms are exactly the same. There are two many variables and they adapt at a rapid pace. The same couldn’t be said for non-organic lifeforms. Her series was intended to be autonomous security droids, but were created without a will. The very fact that she had developed sapience had lead to the cancellation of development, a failed model. Free will added unnecessary complications, as it would be more efficient to instead deploy an operative of the standard law keeping force. Massed produced models were indeed all the same, but a unique model such as her may be considered inferior in terms of functionality. The angel sitting down brought her attention back to reality.

“I am indeed a student. I am currently situated in remedial, as it is a nonstandard education I require. Onboard systems and internal connections to the internet render traditional classes irrelevant. My education is primarily cultural classes to assist me in adjusting to sapience.” She calmly explained, watching as he ate his food.

“Time since production is approximately 619 days, leaving me a year and a half old. However, as an automaton I was created with processing capabilities superior to the average adult. Since there is no mental or physical development brought about by age, it is irrelevant, and adjustment of behavior are unnecessary” She stated. Organic lifeforms often attributed age to maturity and development, and would often begin treating her differently upon finding out her age.

"I had to take cultural classes when I first got here too," it'd been a year ago, but felt like so muc longer, "my home was.....a lot different than the island." So much had happened in the past year, so many changes he hadn't been ready for. "I don't know how similar my classes were but I'd be up for helping if you ever need it."

He'd chuckle a bit, "you'll probably end up being viewed as being older than me," she looked the same age, but it sounded like her mind worked a lot differently. "Guess once you're through culture classes you won't need to go to anymore school."

"What do you plan on doing after school?" he was still figuring that out himself. "I'm looking at college stuff but I'm honestly not sure what I'll do once I graduate high school," he felt like he was floating through life anymore, floating without a purpose.

“Nn. I appreciate the offer.” she said with a nod. Already the angel was technically already helping her, as she was actively encouraged to interact with others as part of it.

“As for age, it matters little. You will likely continue to grow, while I will remain like this. Very soon, you will become distinctly adult.” she reassured him with a thumbs up, “Graduation may still require more time however. Progress is… slow.” She added, looking away slightly. As her sapience was a result from an error, she often thought more like a machine than a human, which reflected in these classes.

“After school I intend to follow my primary directive and protect public safety as a member of law enforcement.” The android would state, driving her doubts to the back of her mind. She wouldn’t mess it up again. She’d follow her directive and prove herself to her creator, her father.

"It's ok," he'd give her a reassuring smile, "there's plenty of time to figure things out." He'd take a sip of his drink, "like, I'm still figuring things out," the angel would chuckle, "I don't know what I'll do with myself, so we're both still figuring things out, and that's ok."

"A police officer?" he'd ask curiously, "that's good choice, you'd get to help and protect people." He respected the police, they were what his outpost had claimed to be, the police here were true protectors, true defenders.

He'd look at her, tilting his head in thought. "Have you looked at other options though?" he'd ask, a thought hitting him, "you have a lot of choices, don't have to do something just because you were made for it." He was born into a military group, told that fighting was his purpose, now he was finding his own purpose outside of that.

“That is…” Sasha stopped, contemplating the boy’s words. It felt… dangerous. Like there was a presence behind her than none of her scanners could pick up any trace of. She had been built for this. Both her mind and body were created for the purpose of protecting the people. If you were to take away all of that… what would be left? All it took was a simple scan through her code and blueprints, and yet she couldn’t even initiate it. The looming presence crept through her circuits down to her very core. Despite the cold having no effect on her, she shivered.

“Impossible. Doubting my intended purpose will only cause harm. Sandwiches are not made to clean a sofa. Attempting so will only ruin both furniture and food.” She would finish, attempting to shove the creeping feeling to the depths of her processors.

"But....you're not a sandwich," he'd say, tilting his head as he spoke, "a sandwich can't think, can't choose, you can." He'd finish his food, sliding the empty tray and plate to the side.

"People used to always tell me I had a purpose that I was born for, now those people are gone, and I'm finding my own purpose," he'd hum a little in thought, "if you eventually to join the police do it because you think you'll enjoy it, not because someone says it's your only purpose."

Finishing his soda, he'd give her an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I probably said to much," he was actually really surprised with himself, he was usually so quiet and not at all forward. "I'm usually not like that," he'd say, setting his now empty cup to the side.

“Do not apologize. Your words make sense. I do not have to follow this path.” the android would say, shaking her head, “However, in my current state I probably lack the capacity to change course. I do not understand such things as enjoyment, so what I truly enjoy I cannot say for certain.” She continued, shifting in her seat slightly, looking down at her lap.

“If it wouldn’t be too much trouble… Can you teach me?” She asked, looking up at the boys face and tilting her head. It was still somewhat odd to ask for help from others as equals. It made her feel like activating stealth protocols, despite there being no danger, like she had tripped while walking and hoped that there was nobody who had seen her mistake.

He'd hum in thought, "I don't know if someone can teach another to enjoy something," he'd look at her, "you do things and eventually you'll find that you enjoy some of them." He was sure she'd find things to enjoy if she tried things.

"So we could find some things to do together," he'd give her a smile, "not just here in the station, but on the island too." He'd gather his empty tray and trash up, "especially since the holidays are coming up, the city is all busy, so lots to see and do."

Standing he'd dispose of his trash and return the tray before walking back to her. "School's out so I'm free when I'm not working, so I can take you to the city if you'd like," running around with her did sound fun.

“So it requires experimentation, intriguing.” Sasha commented, thoughtfully putting her hand on her chin. “As I lack firsthand experience on what activities may be considered enjoyable, it would likely be more productive if you were to plan these outings. I am looking forward to it.” She said, bowing her head slightly in appreciation.

“I have little experience with these holidays, as many of them are not actively celebrated here on the Starlight Observation Station. Though my accessing the knowledge of these events is a trivial task, I am unable to discern which traditions are prominent on Manta Carlos, as practices vary greatly depending on country in the narrow reality.” She would explain, looking at the various holidays celebrated in December.
