Loop de Loop

Whisp was super excited she had made her first friend on the island, and was going to hang with them. It was a plus that ice surfing was her favorite thing to do back home. She waited somewhat impatiently on the north side of the island. Huilu had said it was the best place to teach someone to ice surf. The only part that was a bit shaky to her was trying to get someone else to use her ice path. In theory they would just skate in front of her, but she wasn’t sure how that would turn out.


She eventually got to excited to sit still and started to skate around to relieve the energy. What if her friend changed his mind? After all, she was nowhere near as experienced with her abilities as some of her family was.

Whisp was dragged out of her thoughts by Liam’s voice. She quickly skated over to him, her ice path curving around him as to not cause a collision. “Honestly it’s like constaly sliding across ice but not falling. It did take awhile for me to get used to it.” She paised for a moment and then looked at the situation. She wasn’t sure exactly if they were going about this right way or if it was going to work. She took out a pair of thick gloves and handed them to him.

“So my ice path sorta reappeares in front of me so I wont ever reach the end unless i stop my power. So you’ll have to stand in front of me and hang on to one of my tentacles...i guess i can also use it to push you forward untill you get the hang of it...the point is to just sort slide and follow the path?” She wasn’t aware of how blunt she had sounded or the fact she could’ve tried to make conversation. They had intended for this to be their activity so she didn’t want to keep him from his studying and such.

Whisp wasn’t sure why tentacles was the part confusing, she quickly sprouted four ice tentacles, two from each side. “They’re made of ice, hence why I was trying to hand you gloves. They should be thick enough to keep your hands warm.” She wasn’t exactly sure, considering she didn’t feel the cold. She stood beside him, a payh of ice appearing in front of her. The best thing to do was probably just go for it.

“Don’t worry, after we can get some Hot coca my treat!” She was hoping that they would continue to hang out. She thought she was a pretty decent person so she was confident in her friend retention skills. “Yep, thats all there is too it. I won’t go to fast. This is the first time I’ve tried to do this...if this doesnt work I supposed I could always slide and we can use the board i bought..and you could use my ice limbs as a handle.” She definitely came with a few back up plans.

“You ready?”

Whisp was not even sure how this was going to work, once they reached the end of the path it would reappear in front of her. She assumed this meant itnwould appear beneath him as well. She pushed forward slowly, allowing him enough time to get used to the whole ordeal. After all, ice skating in anyform was difficult at first. Maybe it would’ve been a better idea to start with that.

“See it’s super easy, and also I offered first so I’m paying.” She of course being the mature young adult that she was stuck her tongue at him. She watched him carefully ready to catch him if he fell. After all she was the ‘expert’ at this.

“So faster or slower?”

“Let me think about that” Whisp said tilting her head to the side while pretending to “think” about his propsal. “I’m afriad I that’s a no can do.” She speed them up not really worried about the path. It melted from behind her an appeared at the end off the the path in front of her. The tricky part was making sure he didnt go flying.

She was confident that he got the hang of it so she relaxed her arms, stuffing them in her pocket. “So, how has school been for you? Did you find any clubs to join.”
