[ Micah "Wrath" Lopez ]

Somehow, Wrath felt distinctly un-kawaii today.

He couldn't put his finger on it. Everything was the same today as it was every other day. The same sun, the same sky, he'd woken up on the same side of the bed he always did. His posters--a mix of anime, pictures of his favorite sweets, and skin peeled from the bodies of his favorite kills--were still all perfectly intact. His walls were the same splatter of gore and viscera that it always was, and his vicious alligator snapping turtle Agyness was munching on the flies that festered in his room.

She kept the place quiet. Her unfailing service made this room shipshape.

He saluted her.

But somehow, he could feel his cuteness factor was much lower than yesterday or the day before. Even as he tried one of his favorites, a high-waist-ed number with a big cream-colored bow, as he turned in circled in front of the mirror, he could tell it wasn't working.

Finally he let out the longest sigh he could muster and threw himself against one of his favorite bears, Sir Beclaws. Beclaws was big--bigger than wrath--and with a funny top hat, monocle, and tailcoat. His fur was matted and crusty where smears of blood had carelessly gotten on him, but personally Wrath thought it gave the good Sir a splash of character.

"What's going on with me lately..." He muttered to himself, looking at the same old walls and same old posters and same old rotting viscera. "I feel like I'm in a rut."

Esmeralda knocked on the door to Micah’s room. It was already slightly open, so she poked her head in – and instantly regretted her decision to breathe the air in his room. Okay, so her little brother liked keeping dead shit lying around in his room – the little freak – but he could at least spray some air freshener around sometimes. The smell almost made her gag.

Maybe this was a bad idea. In fact, it was probably a terrible idea, but damn it she needed this. She needed to have a better relationship with her little brother because fucking Gabriela had a good relationship with her little brother and Esmeralda wasn’t about to let that loser bitch get away with –

No. Gabriela was a nice person. Esmeralda liked her. She needed to make her relationship with her little brother better, and she needed this to happen before she had a chance to ruin Gabriela’s life over this petty bullshit.

“Micah?” Esmeralda called into her little brother’s room.

Wrath was thumbing at the fabric of his dress. Maybe he had forgotten something. Was there a specific way he should have accessorized this? Maybe it would be better if he had something to put in his hair... No, that would only make him look silly. His hairstyle didn't allow for anything really interesting to be put into his hair. Hmm... maybe he should put some energy into growing his hair out.

He tangled his fingers into his hair and lengthened it to about his shoulders. No good. Red hair on brown skin was not a good look.

As soon as he checked it out his hair went back its original style. It was no good. He had lost his kawaii.

A single tear slid down his face.

"What do you want." He asked, not looking at Envy as he lay on his floor in his favorite cream dress, staring at the ceiling and wondering what he'd done to offend the Goddess of Kawaii. "If your wondering what happened to your hairdryer, Gluttony already ate it."

Envy sighed. Why was Gluttony allowed in the house? She took a step into the room so they could see each other.

“Thanks for the heads up, but that’s not why I’m here. I actually wanted to… well.” She cleared her throat. “I know you like dressing up. But you never got the training I did from mom. So I was wondering if you’d like some help putting outfits together?” Christ this smell was awful; she needed out of this room. “Maybe we could even go looking through my closet to see if any of it fits you. Or we could try some makeup on you. Or nail polish. If you were interested.”

Envy wouldn’t care too much if he took or destroyed part of her wardrobe; she could always buy more with her unspent allowance. Or she could go out and steal a few nice things, like she used to.

It was around this point Envy noticed that her brother was crying. She didn't dare acknowledge this fact; at least, not while she was trying to be nice.

"Dressing up?" He echoed, his voice sounding bitter. "Dressing up? I do not dress up, I use my body to tell the world of the word of the Kawaii Goddesses!" He hopped onto his feet, pointing to the sky. "My soul reaches theirs, and in return they bless me with their chant of cuteness."

Wrath's normally adorable dress today just made him look ridiculous, and he knew that. His mood deflated on he swooned onto his bed. That was how it normally went anyway. Now that the Goddesses had forsaken him all he could do was lay here and wait to die. His motto had always been "too sugoi to live, to kawaii to die", but now his kawaii was gone.

He could die now.

That sucked, he didn't want to have to give his body over to death.

"If you think your outfits can regain me the favor of my patron deities then your lungs must be more drug than meat."

Silence. Then he buried his face into his neat bed. It was the only neat thing in his room, considering he never used it. Even his humor was being destroyed by the abandonment of his goddesses.

Esmeralda stood there and stared at her little brother, both amused and bemused as he went on his little rant. Her laughs were only barely contained behind her smirk.

Until he made that attempt at a sarcastic jab, that is. It was so bad that it was… well, it was still really bad, but by God if she didn’t think it was hilarious. She laughed openly. Hopefully she could pass it off as laughing with him, and not at him.

“Well, I don’t know a lot about… Hawaiian religions?” Kawaii was one of the Hawaiian islands, right? “But, mi hermanito, I do know some things about fashion and style.” She was walking into the room proper, then laying a hand on her despondent little brother. “Who knows? Maybe we’ll figure out something that you like. Maybe your ‘Kawaii goddesses’ are the ones who sent me here today.”

On some level, Envy actually did feel sorry for him. His stupid, ugly dresses usually brought him so much joy, and now that joy was gone. The Kawaii Goddesses giveth, and the Kawaii Goddesses taketh away.

Even though he wasn't stupid enough to think that she was laughing with him, not with the attitude and not with the fact that this situation was definitely not funny, he didn't lash out. He'd never felt the futility of struggle when he was the one struggling, and he had to say it wasn't a fan. Being on the struggling end was almost enough for him to consider never trying to struggle against the inescapable horrors of losing the favor of the goddesses.

Wrath turned his head to regard Envy slowly. In most situations he'd slap her hand away and make a big point of showing his aggression, making his Sin strong and proud within him. And even though he could feel the Wrath curling within him, he just...

It wasn't happening. It was no good.

He pressed his face into the bed.

"Yeah, sure..." he pushed himself off his bed and smoothed the front of his shirt again. "Though I'm not very convinced. Why the kawaii goddesses would send me someone who doesn't know the first thing about kawaii is beyond me."
