Jack waited eagerly, then shot off the wall when Sushi said go. The cat fae didn't often find himself bragging (mainly due to the fact that he didn't often make friends on his previous adventures) but he felt confident as a swimmer. But even with his literal centuries of experience, he couldn't keep up with the merboy and was seconds behind his kid when he finally hit the wall. He breached the surface of the water again, shaking his head wildly again to loosen any water in his ears.
"You are one fast merkid, Sushi." He grinned, reaching with his non-prosthetic hand to ruffle the boy's... hair? It was strange to the touch, but not necessarily bad feeling by any means. He did take extra care to not bump Sushi's lure, as he wasn't sure if it was sensitive or not. "So, here's what I'm thinking. We get our exercise in for a few hours, then we'll get something fun for dinner. I could cook something up or I could order food, if you want something different. It's our first day together, so I want it to be as fun and enjoyable for you as possible!" He leaned back, now lazily floating on the surface.
"So, what do you want, Sushi? Let's make today the best it can be."
