"Magic swords, and quests to save princesses... people around here sure are fancy," he grinned, and pressed in against her. He wasn't going to let her gain ground on him. He didn't break eye contact with her as he opted to try stomping on one of her feet to throw her off balance, and gain some ground. It was dirty, yes but there was no such thing as fair in a fight. Especially when most of the time your opponents are stronger than you.

As they drew in close the swords trapped between them became more or less useless. In a real fight the edges would still be useful if they could maneuver them right but the practice ones were more or less as useful as a stick like that.

She honestly didn't see the stomp coming. A miscalculation, since Seyyal had been working on the assumption Felix wasn't that dirty of a fighter. Clearly incorrect. It hurt like shit and she flinched but she managed to flinch towards him as the involuntarily pulled her leg back.

It did give her a little more room with the one sword she had left out to the side and she flipped it around to drive it inwards towards Felix's thigh. "Ouch. So that's how we're fighting then? Maybe I should start palming some sand then," she joked. Now that would be a really dirty move.

However she was still technically a little off balance from the stomp.

"I mean we can always move this to the beach or something if you want some sand," he retorted back. There was a sword coming for his thigh. Also Seyyal had managed to flinch towards him. Smart. She still had to be a little off balance from that stomp. It was time for a clutch play to take advantage of that. He'd pull himself back quickly, avoiding the swing of the blade towards his leg. From there he would move to the side, swinging his on blade horizontally.

"And for the record, there's no such thing as fair in a fight."

"No, I like the challenge. Besides, I've got sand if I need it," she snapped back playfully and moved her hip slightly to shake the pouch of sand tied there.

She was indeed off balance and him stepping back meant she was falling forward. Flinching towards him had saved her a little from further blows but it meant she wasnt going to be able to stop herself well. She discarded the blade as it missed its stabbing strike and sent it diagonally into the soft ground beside them.

The blade that had been trapped between them came down just in time to deflect his slash. Her body spun slightly so it was her back that hit the dirt and she rolled with it, her side ending up adjacent to the sword stuck in the ground and she kicked out towards his legs. Mostly to dissuade him from approaching while she returned to her feet.

Felix hopped backwards avoiding the kick coming his way. He wasn't letting himself get thrown off his balance now that it was clear this wasn't exactly "good clean sparring". He was also now aware that she had a pouch of sand. Probably had something to do with her own powers. He'd ask about it later, if he remembered of course.

He was moving in to go on the offensive with several swings of his sword, he had to keep the pressure up. His swings seemed indicative of that. So far Seyyal was turning out to be a good partner. "Hope you can keep up, this is starting to get fun."

After kicking out Seyyal pulled her feet back beneath her and popped up again. Pulling the second sword out of the sand so that she was fully armed again. A little ground lost but no major issues so far. She had known going into this that Felix was better trained and physically more capable than she was. Not that it meant she wouldn't still keep at it. A tough fight was better anyway.

Seyyal quickly found herself in the position where his onslaught left very little time between her parrying or dodging. Shebwas in essence trapped on the defensive and that would definitely make her lose out eventually. "I can do this all day. You'll have to do better than this to beat me," she boasted with a grin. Utter horseshit, but half the fun of a fight was trying to make it seem like you were better than your opponent even if you weren't. Especially if you weren't.

After parrying one quick strike down to the side she swiped down diagonally with her other sword, fully expecting him to duck or dodge out of the way. Her real goal though was to swing past him, flipping the sword around and then step forward to drive the pommel towards his gut. Anything to be unpredictable.

Felix knew she was either going to counter him or slip up and he'd score a hit. Unfortunately for him, and fortunately for her it was the former. He dodged out of the way of the downward swing. And then came the pommel strike, which he almost didn't catch. That was definitely giving her ground because he was the one off balance now. How the tables had turned... probably.

He moved back as the strike came for him. He figured he'd just go for the trade, moving his hand to the blade of his sword to shorten its reach and going for a thrust. All this while moving away from her own strike as best as he could.

She felt the satisfying shift in momentum as she caught him off guard and pressed him back into the defensive for the first time. But of course it was a fleeting moment and she was forced to break off her attack as his blade was thrust out towards her midsection.

Seyyal pushed off and flung herself back to avoid his stab, finding herself back at square one, with them on either side of a small gap and warily watching for a sudden strike. She slowly began to circle around him, wondering for a moment if she wasn't just channeling what a real lioness might do when a surprise pounce from the tall grasses wasn't effective enough. Circling a foe, hungrily looking for an opportunity to strike.

Except she wasn't an animal and she was sweating and breathing as appropriate for the fast paced exertion of a fight. Even a practice fight drew the excitement through her body and energized her. She might not really know about adrenaline but she sure knew the feeling.

She just... had to figure out a better way to attack in a way he wouldn't expect...

Felix inhaled and exhaled refocusing himself as Seyyal circled him. His guard was up, and he was doing a countdown in his head. She was definitely thinking of what to try next, or maybe she was baiting him into something. Either way, the only way to go in a fight was forward. She had about three seconds before he opted to start again.

Felix shifted his guard a bit, easing into a lower stance. If she wasn't going to pounce then he sure would. And then time was up. Felix grinned before moving in with a lunging strike, hopefully ready for whatever counterattack she could come up with.

This was tough. Well, of course it was-she had known going into this that her chances of coming out ahead were slim to none. Maybe she could.... no, he was too fast and would see that coming. A feint? Some kind of misleading trick? No, he seemed like he either knew most tricks or at least knew how to react to make most of them pointless.

She circled and circled, ultimately deciding anything elaborate would be a waste. Then she saw it. The clear sign he was about to attack- lowering his stance into a ready position, and actually grinning at her. Well then. There wasn't time for any fancy footwork. Just a single choice- stay on the defensive or meet offense with offense. She chose the latter and Seyyal flung herself towards Felix as he was coming towards her. A simple crossing of her two blades to trap and help deflect his own away from her body. Intending to shoulder check him. Between the two of them, one of them was probably going to be knocked down to the ground. She just wasn't sure if it would be her or him. A gamble.
