She charged him, something Felix really should have expected given his own attack. Was this the final showdown? The last ditch effort by a worthy foe? There was a moment of hesitation to stop and brace, or proceed with his own lunge. That was when he felt her hit him, throwing him off balance and causing him to fall back. Felix let out a surprised grunt. His guard was up, but not in any meaningful position that could fend much off. It was just a deterrent. In a last ditch effort he reached out to try and pull her down with him.

It was considered very foolish to throw caution to the wind and charge at someone already charging you. But Seyyal had known the only way she could hope to come out ahead was to be unpredictable. And it was honestly pretty fun to meet his lunge with one of her own.

Less fun was the realization that while she had succeeded in knocking Felix down, he had managed to grab hold of her torso and pull her down too. Her sword trapped his and deflected it away from stabbing into either of them, though her breath was expelled violently from her lungs as the edge of the cross guard on his sword was pressed into her just below the ribcage. Literally knocking the wind out of her as she collapsed onto felix as he hit the ground.

A pile of tired combatants. "Damn," she gasped. "Guess I'm on top though." Then she laughed as she tried to catch her breath, discarding her swords for the moment.

There was a point when they were falling that Felix went through ways to come up standing, sword pointed at his fallen enemy. Those weren't happening though unless he had super speed. There was slight consolation in knowing his cross guard knocked the wind out of her. Okay, not really. The collision kind of hurt, and now they were on the ground. This seemed like a double knock out, that's how he was calling it.

"You may be on top, but I managed to take your breath away," he groaned, and managed a pained laugh. "Either way, I think it's a draw... probably."

Do bruises hurt more when accompanied by horribly cheesy jokes? Probably, but mostly because these bruises hurt more when she laughed despite herself.

"I'm not gonna argue," she admitted as she rolled off of him, rubbing at her torso where the blunt bits of the hilt had been driven into her. "You'd probably make me laugh with more terrible jokes and that's really not fair right now."

For the moment she didnt even get up once she rolled off of him. Just laying there catching her breath. And trying not to laugh too much.

"So... did it go how you expected?" She had been prepared to lose after trying her hardest, given what she knew about him. But it didnt feel like he'd let her win so a draw sounded fine to her.

"Well next time I'll remember to polish my crappy jokes since that's your weaknesss," he joked as he considered sitting up. No, lying on the ground after a workout like this was much more comfortable. Besides, everything hurt. Signs of a good sparring match as far as he was concerned.

"It didn't go how I expected, but it was still fun. I learned a few things too. How about you?" he asked turning his head to look her way.

She didn't turn to look towards him, preferring to lie on her back and just look up at the sky. It seemed to alien to do that- she couldn't remember really paying the sky too much attention back home. Maybe she just was too busy.

But that certainly didn't mean she was ignoring him. "Don't make me start hitting a guy when he's down," she smirked to herself as she reached out and flopped an open hand towards him. Not nearly enough force behind it to hurt- she only fought dirty when in an actual fight. And their sparring was over. Or was it? This felt like it had shifted to some sort of verbal back and forth now that they were tired and on the ground.

"For me? Pretty sure I learned that tackling a guy with his sword up is a bad idea," she groaned slightly as she rubbed at her abs. "And that I should really find a way to cheat next time we spar."

"Is it really cheating if it's mutual dirty fighting though?" he was more pointing it out than asking a question. "I mean, if I armored up that'd be cheating. Dirty fighting just runs in the family. We started as monster hunters. When you fight things that are bigger and stronger than you... well I'm sure you know how it goes."

Seyyal probably had more experience in that field than most modern members of his family did. He groaned again, not really wanting to move. "Uh... you wanna like grab some food or something? I'm somehow hungry..."

Seyyal sighed. Ok, fine. It's hard to cheat when there aren't any agreed upon rules. "Alright. I guess we can call it accepted cheating. Still dirty, but if everyone goes in expecting it theres no issue."

Slowly, and with a little groan of her pen, she lifted herself back up into a seated position and glanced over at him. "Feels like I got punched in the gut but maybe after walking it off a bit I could eat some." With that she pushed herself back to her feet and offered Felix a hand up.

"Accepted cheating, mutual foul play, friendly ...hoodwinking?" he grinned, proud of the additions to the new term that had been coined. Maybe he was a bit too proud.

Either way, he took Seyyal's hand and allowed himself to be helped up. He dusted himself off and began to collect his things. Walking a bit actually sounded like a good plan. "It's almost like you ran into a sword guard and got the wind knocked out of you..."

"Don't hit me I can't help but sass like this," he put his arms up in a weak defensive guard, the kind that's not really going to protect much.

Seyyal didnt listen to the plea for mercy. She decisied to try punching him in the gut for his sass. Not terribly hard though, just something to make him the faintest bit sore. "There? Now you can make yourself hurt from laughing at your jokes too."

She smiled though and gathered her own belongings. "I could draw my real swords and we could go again, or we could both walk this off and see about something to eat. How about it funny man?"
