Classes had finished up for the day, Felix as usual opted to take a couple laps around the sports. There wasn't anything too out of the ordinary about it. He was sitting in the grass sipping his water bottle. After his short rest he'd move on to practicing his unarmed combat, and finally armed combat with a wooden sword of course. He wasn't particularly feeling like using his armor today. His usual sparring partner with the armor was off doing other things today anyway.

After a few minutes he got right into it. Basic stances first, then build into the more advanced ones just like he was taught. At a glance it probably resembled a sort of dance. He only stopped for a moment, he was having one of those moments of wishing there was someone around he could spar with. He started to pull his phone out, going through his contacts. Yeah there was no one that was readily available. Then there was that girl, Seyyal he'd spoken to a few times. He did give her his number, but well... she wasn't totally up to speed with this world's technology. He also didn't have her number. He groaned and flopped back into the grass. Maybe he'd call it quits, hit up his favorite diner or something.

Call it kismet or maybe just sheer coincidence, but that girl- the technologically challenged one, actually wasn't that far away. Seyyal too had finished classes for the day and moved on to keeping her skills honed. Her armor was left in the dorm, but that didn't matter a whole lot for training. After all, the point was quick and decisive movements and ultimately drawing blood wasn't the point of practicing.

She did have a couple pouches of sand just in case summoning her own real swords was needed. She never went out without access to them if she could help it. Even at school or in the city. Carrying sand wasn't illegal unless she actually drew the blades from it. Otherwise she was dressed as appropriately as she could for the physical activity. A reasonable amount of stretching to keep from injuring herself, some running to warm things up and then some practice with a padded likeness of a person. A 'dummy' apparently. Not quite the sandbags and practice figures of straw and wood she was more familiar with but they achieved the same thing more or less.

Seyyal wasn't someone who had gone to extensive training for her fighting style. It was more born through combat experience with opponents varying from animals to goblins and a wide range of people. Informed and adjusted through the use of her uncanny ability to note shortcomings and strengths of her foes.

All that aside though she was walking around a bit. Looking for someone to spar with or some other way to push things a little for the end of her workout for the day. In the back of her mind was the reminder that Felix had said he might be around this area sometimes after school and he'd all but challenged her to some sparring. Which would do both of them some good, honestly.

She almost missed him, but he was pretty recognizable even laying down in the grass. Her sight identifying him by name of course helped. "You know i've never seen that particular fighting style. Are you too tired out for a little bit more training today?" She asked with a quirked eyebrow and a grin.

Think of the technologically inept girl you gave your number to, and she shall appear. Funny how things worked out sometimes. Felix couldn't help but grin back at her from his spot on the ground.

"Funny you showed up when you did, I was gonna call y- oh wait," he hopped up onto his feet. "I was just laying in the grass wondering whether or not I should call it a day, but now here you are. Does this mean you want me to kick your butt?"

"I do have a phone Felix, I'm just not very adept at using it. Just like I'm sure if I gave you the reins of a Natau you'd make a fool of yourself trying to get it to go where you wanted," she quipped as she approached closer.

"I was hoping for some sparring but I think you under estimate how good I am at getting my butt out of the way of kicks," she laughed and tossed down a plastic waterskin- er bottle of water she'd been carrying. "Who knows, without that armor you might be a pushover."

Obviously she knew full well he wasnt so easy to take down. She did know what he was capable of after all. But banter was as important to sparring as stretching beforehand was. At least as far as she was concerned.

"Oh my god," was this a pre-fight verbal ass kicking? It was, she was doing really good too. He didn't know what a Natau was, and based on that she was probably right. Round zero, and she'd already roasted him. Not bad, he had to think of something to snap back with. This wasn't his strong suit.

"You're right, I would look like an idiot one whatever a Natau is...sounds bitey. And I might be fighting armorless, but I promise you it won't be that easy. It's not the power of the suit, it's the person wearing it," he grinned and took a fighting stance. Oh he was ready for this.

"Oh yes, the most vicious animal I've ever seen. You'd never stand a chance," Seyyal couldn't help but laugh at her own inside joking. The cow-like Natau were so docile. But obviously he had no way of knowing that. It was a cheap shot but it was still funny.

She took a step back and to the side slightly, bending the knees a little as she widened her stance in a way to make it harder to knock her off balance. Hands up to defend the face and muscles slightly tensed to act quickly.

"No, I'm certain your suit makes a huge difference. But you're right. May the best girl win." A cheerful grin joining the look of determination settling on her face as she starts to slowly circle around him. "We doing bare hands or practice swords? I'm up for either."

Felix had a feeling he was being messed with, but he'd just address that by winning the match. Seyyal had gotten into her fighting stance, and he was already making mental notes about well, everything. Best attacks to use against the stance, what he could expect from her based on her stance. Then the questions of swords or fists came up.

"I could go for a little swordplay. But are you sure you wanna give me that kind of advantage?" he grinned as he went to grab his own practice sword. He twirled it around a little bit before he took his own defensive stance. "Not many people use swords like I do, so it'll be fun to show off."

It was a shame Seyyal couldnt really use her favorite swords in this kind of practice. They felt so much more natural in her hands than the wood ones, but accidentally cutting him would ruin everything. So she had a shoulder bag with her. It had the usual towel and such but also was long enough to hold two shorter swords. Not curved like her real ones but they'd do.

Seyyal wasnt much for artistic flourishes most of the time so she wasnt being showy and flipping the swords around in her hands like the movies. No, instead she had each one out and pointed at an upward angle. Readied to defend or strike from multiple angles.

"Swords are what has kept me and my friends from being slain. But if you want to make a show I guess go ahead. I'll just smack you a bit while you're showboating," she teased as she stepped forward and swung one sword down at him while stabbing towards his midsection with the other.

Seyyal wasnt a soldier or a trained swordswoman. But her fighting style was one of preparing to react or change things rapidly. Set yourself up to be able to move in several different was depending on what your opponent does in reaction.

"You can try, still what's with everyone and dual blades?" he sighed. Felix would avoid the overhead strike and parried the strike to his gut while he moved away. The blade of his practice sword was a bit shorter than the one his armor sported, but still notably long. Based on his moves, it was clear this weapon was for keeping human sized opponents at a distance, and probably reaching larger opponents. It seemed like half the students who did any sort of swordplay either used two blades, or fencing style weapons.

Felix would move in taking a couple quick swings punctuated with a powerful downward swing. She would either block, or move out of the way of his strike. Either way his left hand was moving up the back of his blade, and gripping it as if it were a staff and he was ready to counter appropriately.

"You want the... truth?" She asked as she moved with the swings of her blades. He'd dodged the first but used the momentum plus the slight change in direction as a result of his parry to spin around slightly. Getting her first sword up to deflect his first swing and parrying his second with the other.

The downward swing would have taken too much to block or party so she dodged to the side. Instead of trying to escape his reach though, with his longer sword, she pressed in closer. One sword up between them as a sort of barrier and the other out to the side slightly so they couldn't both be trapped between them if he tried that defense.

"My swords sort of chose me. A lot of times I keep a hand free but this is more fun. "
