Sylvi

Sylvi nodded and gave a small smile. Even if it wasn't a permanent change, it was still nice ability. "If only I could do the same with my armor." It would certainly make things much easier. As it stood now, she had to do it the old fashion way.

She chuckled as Bee called Suttung losing the mead to Odin being necessary for the plot. It was certainly true, and a little bit funny when presented like that. "Well said." She said with a chuckle.

"I must admit, I have always found it interesting to hear others thoughts on our legends. You have certainly given me a new perspective on the story. Thank you, Bee."

"Oh you're welcome! I love hearing original takes and first hand experiences. People, like yourself, that have more uh... hands on experience with them. Let's me learn where the inspiration for the tales came from."
Bee certainly seemed in a much better mood now than she did. Her outfit was nacl to normal, hair much the same, and even her walk had a bit more pep and bounce in it than before.
"So tell me... what's your family like? I always hear these tales and stories but never anything first hand."

Sylvi

Sylvi bristled as Bee asked about her family. For whatever reason, mortals seemed determined to depict them wrong. It infuriated her to no end. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, she tried to maintain herself. It wasn't Bee's fault and she might actually be able to respect the truth. Having knowledge of the legends and all.

"Well, as you might imagine, they are nothing like the way they are depicted as mortals. Thor, my father, for example, actually has red hair." She said, brushing aside a lose strand. "Mine is only blonde because my mother was a Valkyrie."

"And then, of course there is his brothers, such as Baldr, the god of beauty. The two are actually closer then you might think."
She'd think it over for a moment. "I could go on, but it might be easier if I answer specific questions you may have." She said with a laugh. "Otherwise, we may well be here all night."

No way. Bee couldn't see it. The Thor had red hair? That thought alone made her almost laugh before she collected herself and let Sylvi continue. It seemed there were a great many details left off from the legends, or even completely changed. A hand came up to her chin in a very posed thoughtful look.
"Wait wait wait. The long and beautiful blonde hair that are always attached to Thor is actually red?! Please tell me it's also short and scraggly too."
Bee realized how much of an open ended question she had given Sylvi, and twisted her lips a little as she thought of something more specific. This was proving to be harder than she initially thought as there were a dozens questions running through her head at the same time.
"Well, how was home life for you? From tales, I would guess it was nothing but hard training and a distanced father from day one. Something tells me that isn't completely true, if at all."

Sylvi

Sylvi couldn't help but snort. It never failed to surprise her how people reacted to learning about Thor actually having red hair. The thought of her father with short hair was pretty funny however. "No, nothing like that. Surprisingly the long hair is one of the few things mortals actually got correct." She huffed.

She'd tilt her head to the side when asked about her home. "You would be correct regarding the the training. Doubly so for a Valkyrie. I do have a name to live up to." She answered with a smirk. "But Thor was a more caring and attentive father then you might expect. He certainly pushed us hard, but also rewarded us for our successes. It is because of him I have Sigurd."

It was odd to think of Thor in that way. Mainly because of all the stories she had heard growing up. But there was no reason to doubt Sylvi, especially with her being Thor's daughter. It would be dumb to doubt her.
"That's like, actually kinda awesome. Seems you have a good relationship with him."
Bee was very much a daddy's girl. She loved her mom dearly, but daddy was always the one that was there for her, comforted her, and most certainly showered her with gifts. So when Sylvi mention Sigurd, and eyebrow perked up.
"Sigurd? Like the dragon slaying warrior?"

Sylvi

Sylvi nodded. "I do. I like to think I am his favorite at times." She answered confidently. Of course she had to contend with, and fight, her other siblings at times, but she enjoyed it.

She shook her head at Bee's question about Sigurd. "Ah. No." Suddenly her spear was next to her and she did a flourish with it. "This is Sigurd." She said, motioning to it.

"The person you are thinking of is actually named 'Sigurðr.' I honestly do not understand why they changed the name. And yes, slaying the dragon Fafnir was but one of his many achievements. I have actually met him. Among many other Norse heroes." Sylvi said. She couldn't help but brag about some of the people she got to meet in Valhalla.

Stepping back from Sylvi slightly st the flourish, Bee merely watched. She was the farthest thing from a fighter and wouldn't even know how to hold the spear correctly much less wield one with the effectiveness Sylvi could.
"That makes way more sense than the actual person."
A playful chuckle followed before the Valkyrie explained what seemed like annoyance on the name change. Being a muse, Bee could see both sides.
"It more than likely change over time to adapt to different cultures. This way it was easier for the story to spread. However, the losing of the integrity of names is unfortunate and annoying at times."
Suddenly struck by her own words and Sylvi's presence, Bee began to hum. It sounded a mix of a Nordic poem blended with a children's lullaby.

Sylvi

Sylvi couldn't help but give a small chuckle as Bee stepped back. She had enough control of her spear that even if Bee hadn't stepped back, she wouldn't have gotten hit. "I will admit the name was inspired by the hero, but I digress."

She frowned when Bee explained her perspective on the name change. "Most mortals do not even think we exist, and as with Thor it is more then the name. They change the entire story to suit what they want. It is truly infuriating." She said, shaking her head and still having a bit of edge to her voice.

Stopping mid flight, she raised an eyebrow when Bee started humming. She recognized the parts in old Norse as being from a poem, and it sounded pretty good. Sylvi couldn't help but start humming along, but she was still a bit off key.

Breaking from her hum, Bee responded in a more sing songy tone. "It has happened to others as well. Adaptation. Cultural acceptance. It all plays a part in the retelling of stories and their changing."
Bee nodded to Sylvi still, however. Having stories of your own family changed had to be frustrating.
"I can still understand your annoyance. You come from a culture that is deep in story telling and tales of heroics. Having both of those spread inaccurately and changed doesn't help."
