Sylvi

No sooner had Sylvi stepped out of the Grey Raven, then she flew up into the air. The island was big, and Bee could have gone almost anywhere, so she had quite a bit of ground to cover. Thankfully Bee was rather distinctive so Sylvi figured she'd be pretty easy to find.

In a lot of ways, Sylvi understood what Bee was going through. She got not wanting to be on the island, if Sylvi had her way, she'd still be in Valhalla. And even if Bee wasn't picking fights with dragons and store keepers, Sylvi hoped that she could maybe offer some advice to her so she didn't end up making the same mistakes.

After flying around for a few minutes, she finally spotted Bee, and it almost looked like she was crying. "Bubblegum Bee!" She called out. "Wait, please. I wish to speak with you about what occurred in the Grey Raven. You did say that was your name, yes?" She asked, hoping that Bee would be willing to hear her out.

20201209_064241.pngBee walked down the street from the Grey Raven towards her house. Arms were crossed to help fend off the brisk wind that blew through on occasion. It also helped her feel safer.
"...who do they really think they are?! They don't anything about me and..."
She grumbled to herself as she continued on. While complaining to herself and defending herself, she couldn't stop the flow of tears that streamed down her face. She had just wanted someone, anyone to sympathize with her.
That was when she heard her name called out. Considering she had changed her hair to a brunette and her clothes were plain and unassuming, Bee figured this was someone from the bar following her.
She quickly wiped her eyes dry and put on a sour face before turning to see the Valkyrie, Sylvi, approaching her. When she spoke her voice lacked its usual enthusiasm.
"BumbleGum Bee, that's me..."
She sighed and continued.
"... you come to continue berating me or give me advice to lighten up or something?"

Sylvi

Sylvi landed not far from Bee. "Nothing of the sort." She answered, shaking her head. "I wanted to make sure you were okay after what happened, as it did not seem like anybody else actually cared." She huffed, a hint of anger to her voice.

"Are you okay? It almost sounded as if you were crying." Sylvi asked, a little concerned. If the people at the Grey Raven had gotten to her that badly, then that was concerning. "And, just so you are aware, In my opinion, this island is certainly a.. 'podunk' as you put it. Given how everyone reacted I can tell it is not a term of endearment."

"I've never had anyone question why I actually make music. It...it hurt."
Bee kept her arms crossed tightly against herself not really sure what to do at the moment. She was used to strangers coming up to her, but not to comfort her. Most wanted something from her and then left when they got it.
"I'm sure this island isn't that bad. I'm just frustrated that I lost everything my family and I had been working towards."
She took a deep breath in and held it for a moment before slowly exhaling. When the breath was done, she shook her head, causing her hair to change back to it's normal multi-colored pastel look.
"It's even worse when I get told to not worry or do anything yet because daddy is handling things, and then get told there that I'm not doing enough if I really cared."

Sylvi

Sylvi nodded. "I completely understand. I dare say anyone would be angered by having everything they have worked for torn away." She said, trying to be reassuring, but with a noticeable hint of anger to her voice.

Sylvi just shook her head and frowned "And yet, when people accused you of not caring, you left, and began sobbing in the street. If you truly did not care, I doubt you would have reacted that strongly."

Bee's head dropped a little and she absentmindedly kicked around a rock with her foot. Her fingers were white knuckled on her sweater as she tried to keep calm.
"People...people see what they want to see when it comes to celebrities. Some only look to find ways that prove they aren't good people. But we are all still people, and words hurt, regardless of what anyone tells you."
She looked back up at Sylvi. Honestly, she was thankful now for Sylvi following her out. It was a kind gesture she didn't have to do.

Sylvi

"I will not deny the truth to that accusation. However, while those words will inevitably hurt, they are just that words. Try not to put too much weight into them, and instead look at the positive things said about you." She offered, having some experience with that. Newly dead souls could have any number of reactions, and anger was a common one.

"If I may indulge myself , I am unfamiliar with your musical talents. Would you maybe be willing to sing me a small piece? If not, I understand." She hoped by getting Bee to sing, she could get her mind off what had happened at the Grey Raven.

"You speak of words like they are nothing to someone whose entire existence is based upon words."

Both her demon side and her muse half were heavily influenced by words, so they held a little more meaning to her than most. When Sylvi asked her to sing, Bee looked to her almost shocked.

"I uh...well...sure."

Bee clear her throat and thought of what to sing, even the inspiration finally came. Something Sylvi might know and recognize. When she started, her words were beautiful and smooth. Perfect old eastern Norse with a slight echo in the night.

"I dreamt a dream this night
of silk and honest post
Wore a robe so light and smooth
in the light of the sunset
-now the clear morning is waking

I went to the young crowd,
I was drawn to song and dance
filled with confidence, I met his eyes
and put my hand in his

All the others watched us,
they smiled and they laughed
Soon the dance completely stopped,
only us two were left (dancing)

I dreamt a dream this night
of silk and honest post
Wore a robe so light and smooth
in the light of the sunset
-now the clear morning is waking
."

(Song "Drømte mig en drøm i nat" found Here)

Sylvi

Sylvi shook her head. "I did not intend to imply they were nothing. Simply that you should focus on the good. things and do what you can to ignore the bad. It is as you said, some find ways to prove you are bad people. Sylvi said, not having or understanding the connection with words that Bee had.

Sylvi blinked when Bee started singing, and joined in towards the end.

"I dreamt a dream this night
of silk and honest post
Wore a robe so light and smooth
in the light of the sunset
-now the clear morning is waking
."

She clapped when the song ended. "That was really good, quite impressive too. I was not aware you knew old norse."

Bee smiled and shrugged. She knew she was a good singer, but what most didn't know was that she could sing in multiple languages. That one she didn't get from some ability. Knowing different languages came from good old hard work, and a little heavy handed from her mother.
"Mom, being a muse and all, insisted that I know multiple languages to be able to sing in. I wouldn't say I was fluent, but I know enough to get by, and plenty to be able to sing."
The pop-star looked to the ground for a moment and then back to Sylvi with a genuine smile.
"Thanks, Sylvi."
