Private Finished Lighten the Mood

With all of what had happened, Alby had a lot of stuff to figure out. The veil, the alternate reality or whatever this was, it was all a lot, but he had more or less expected it. His greatest issue at the moment was one with his parents. It seemed they were no longer too fond of him staying there after the events that had just unfolded. But after a long conversation with them, a more pressing problem appeared. It seemed Eein had gotten into some trouble of his own. Without a whole lot of thought, Alby packed up his things and headed to the hospital.

It took a good chunk of time, but eventually he was let in to see Eein. He opened the door kinda slowly when he got there. "Hey Eein?..."

"No, they were actually quite helpful." Alby made his way over to Eein. It sucked seeing him like that, but he tried to keep a cheerful expression.

As for food, of course he'd brought snacks. As reckless as Alby was, he was often well equipped. "Haha, figured you'd be hungry." Alby dropped his backpack down and rummaged around before yanking out a pretty large bag of jerky. "Tada!" He walked up to Eein and set the bag next to him. Then he walked back a ways and pulled up a stray hospital chair.

"I've been fine. I kinda knew what was going on back before the long night, then when the night came, one of these bad boys confirmed my suspicions." Alby pulled a compass out of his pocket. The compass wasn't working properly. "Unfortunately, while I was looking for the veil, they appeared in plain sight and I never got the chance to see them." Alby exaggeratedly hung his head low.

"Anyway, how're you holding up?"

Alby chuckled. "If I wanted things to be normal I'd head back to Oregon."

Speaking of that though... "I'm fine, just my parents found out sorta what happened with the island and they kind of want me to go back." It was less of a want and more so that they were telling him to head back, but that wasn't important at the moment.

"I'm not worried about that right now though, I'm more concerned with you." Alby frowned a little. "Did they tell you how bad you're hurt? Or how long they think you're gonna need to stay cooped up in here?"

Alby gave a bit of a nervous laugh. "I kinda didn't tell them about the possession thing. If they found out about that, they'd probably find a way to come get me themselves."

Alby looked pretty concerned as Eein motioned to a significant portion of his body and explained that it was burnt there. "And you said it was a plant that did this?" He knew this wasn't the time to do research on monster plants, but the thought of a plant that could do so much damage to someone as strong as Eein was a mix of terrifying and interesting.

Alby definitely didn't want to get dragged back home. For one, he knew his power would slowly wither away, which would basically defeat the purpose to all of the training he'd done. But then the real kicker was how he'd have to keep quiet about all these amazing things forever, never getting to see them or talk about the supernatural again.

"That sounds..." Alby was about to say so cool, but quickly changed his wording when he snapped out of his admiration mode and remembered the situation he was in. "Scary." He frowned. "I'm glad you're okay now. How'd you get free anyway? Did you show that plant who was boss all on your own?"
