Supernatural abilities were a well worn subject. A lot of Valli's patients didn't have them, and that was a big reason they were his patients at all.

"Being a scout is the best place for someone like you, who has mostly human capabilities, actually," Valli pointed out. "For the most part, they experience the wider, ah, narrow reality. And there, you have to pass for human. There have been issues in the past where scouts had to drop out or change specializations because they couldn't bring their powers down to a level where they could pass as human."

Valli smiled at the offer of tea.

"Yes, thank you. I don't often drink, and after my first sip I remembered why... the tastes a bit too strong for me, I'm afraid. My grandfather would be mortified."

Most humans probably thought there was a wide variety in heights, but in the grand scheme of things? Not at all. Maybe a few feet at the most, but most people were within a foot of each other.

Gask's scars would be the only real issue, but they would work in certain contexts, and be easy enough to hide if needed.

"I have a friend who's in the scouting program. I can get you in touch with him if you'd like, and he can run you through the basics," Valli offered, feeling more than a bit giddy about everything that had happened. He was eager to enjoy the tea, and more than eager to spend the rest of the day chatting with Gask, his nerves finally calm at last.
