The little girl was roaming the library, attempting to forget that she couldn't go with her new daddy to work. She'd been with him for a little over a month now, she was even learning to sign - though slowly and sloppily - she was learning. She couldn't read yet, so she had to learn.
He'd bought a deck of picture-cards that most parents would use to teach their children to read; but he was using to teach her signs. She had a quick mind to learn, though. She was proud!
She had stopped talking after a while, though. She much preferred to be like her daddy and not talk, even though she could talk.
Faeyt was currently trying to climb a library shelf, she wanted a book and she wanted a book from a high shelf - so, she was trying to scale the shelf and tug one of the older, priceless books down - and if she got it, she would probably destroy it without meaning too.
Eventually this large tome, a first edition of something, and the little girl both hit the floor hard. She'd jerked the tome by the front cover when she'd lost her footing; and now lay on the ground, dazed.
After a moment she was tugging at pages and looking for pictures in this ancient text, completely unaware she was hurting the book.
