Sela's frowned disapprovingly at Symlink before looking at Neon with awe. "You have players? Real people? The school allows that? For you... to have real people? I used to be trapped in my world and with the real people I brought in. Now I'm here and I was told to try not making more people in my world and that I'm not allowed to bring anyone in."

Neon might be another person privileged enough to have real people freely enter his world. Or to make people in his world. Could he... bring those people out of his world? Slowly, Sela turned to look at Symlink and stare. If there was any proof of that, it would be him.

"It's videogames. It's not like they are physically stuck in there like I was, and I really hope no one ever suffers that fate. In a sense... It's just an avatar we control. It's no different from controlling chess pieces and- Ah, I think... I overdid for Symlink again.", Neon just seemed to realize his son looked befuddled once again.

"Ah." I really hope no one ever suffers that fate. They said too much. How were they going to explain the other people who were trapped with them? Who are still trapped.

Simple: they wouldn't explain. They purposely made a bad move to ensure their loss. "I think you're going to be the winner..." they said with a pout. "This game is really hard. I'm not very good at video games either... I think I like watching people play games more. Or... making games for people to play."

Symlink and Neon noticed she left herself open for defeat, but was that the end? "Check... Mate?", the boy was unsure after making his move. "That very well looks like it from here...", Neon reassured, "It's good to be an observer too, Sela. That way you can inspire or be inspired by what you see and what you say, while taking things at your own pace."

"Checkmate!" Sela repeated excitedly, sounding like a crowd cheering on Symlink's win.

They turned to look at Neon and nodded. "I'm always inspired. Dreams are inspiring. People are inspiring." Being filled with people gave Sela all the resources needed to be creative. They simply had to view the lives going on inside them and make them bigger and better. "I think I like board games and tabletop games where I host and everyone follows. Those are the games I want to play and make. I'm very good at hosting games."

Symlink giggled cutely, the board gradually dissipated into sparkles , as well as the pieces. "I wonder if it is possible to combine digital and dream.", the boy couldn't help but wonder if they could combine them. Neon didn't comment, but looked pensive enough for one to assume he was interested. Instead, the neon-glow fox hummed "I'd be interested to see your dream world someday, if that is allowed."

"It's not allowed right now. I have to prove that I'm responsible and socially adjusted. That I won't hurt anyone. I haven't been here long enough to prove that..." Sela was exhausted playing against their natural inclinations. If they could sigh, they would. Well, they could, but it would only be an imitation.

"I don't think... Um. Maybe. I used to think digital and dreams couldn't combine. Dreams are asleep, digital is awake. Then I learned about virtual reality. There's virtual reality here. I don't think that's dreams and digital combined. I don't know."

"Virtual... Reality?", Symlink gave a puzzled look, unfamiliar with that. "It might be possible to isolate someone's mind in a virtual space and alter it to match that person's state of mind. Effectively: a digital dream.", Neon explained, "There's also what my son is... He is both physical and digital. What's to say what his World will turn into?"

"Computers are digital and physical," Sela pointed out. "He might be like a computer running a program. Or a program running another program.

"And, um, the virtual reality I was talking about was the one on the space station. I learned that it lets you create a digital body to play in a digital world. Sometimes with real people. I don't think it's a digital dream. I want to play one to see what it's like, but they're very expensive."

"Ah, that one... I've not tried it yet either, too expensive. Even with the little jobs I do on the side, I can't see myself going to give it a try anytime soon.", Neon gave a sigh, before soon feeling more joyful, "But hey, on the plus side I've been living more by the day!"
