She said the one word that made his skin crawl. Deviljho. The satanic love child of T-Rex and a pickle. It was the only monster that would stand a chance against him, though he normally came out on top. It was the only one he couldn't think straight around. It made him shudder.

"Good point.. haha.. Those hunts are just.. I was never a fan but i do them. Till something like that shows up then I gotta change gears and work on the monster before gathering."

She was sadistic. Even that kind of quest shouldn't be brought on your enemies. Or people you hate.

Sev's flustered face calmed down as he used the wipe to rub his face. "Yeah, maybe i am just an easily pleased kind of guy. Just some of the places we go to look so peaceful and serene that I enjoy being the last one back so I can look around for a bit before heading home."Then heard the question about the fridge.

"Yeah. I stocked up before I left last night. I might need to get a few things like drinks and get some herbs and blue mushrooms, I'm running low on potions and mega's"

That topic change made it easier as he went to the fridge just to double check. Making sure he actually did it this time.

He was right. The fridge was nice and stocked with food and drinks. He sighed happily as he couldn't get something out of head. Though he tied the bag to his hip as he leaned over the couch to grab his sword and eye'd it up and down. Making sure the blade was sharp.

"Maybe later we could go out for a bite to eat. I made a small fortune off of the hunt last night. My treat." He said. Taking a whetstone to the blade to sharpen it while looking it at every so often on both sides. The sword's blade gleamed with the light, but the rest of it seemed to swallow the light.

"Hey Reina? What are you doing tomorrow?" He asked trying to see if she was busy with anything. "Wanna go on a d-.. Daring hunt?"

Of course Reina knew how Sev felt about the Deviljho. It was one of the few monsters that her senpai could go toe-to-toe with without an assured victory. Sometimes, as she'd heard, he would get KO'd and have to be dragged back to camp. Of course, she'd never seen the thing up close. If he had her still running laps around chump change monsters he wouldn't let her near any monster he couldn't take down inside five minutes.

Reina laughed at him though. She remembered one of the first times they'd gone on a mission together--it was a simple gathering quest, but as she went off to get more iron, a Tetsucabra appeared from nowhere.

Back then that had been the most terrifying thing she'd ever seen.

Now though....

"Yeah, I guess I sympathize with that. But its hard to feel safe enough to take off your armor, yanno?"

Hearing that the fridge was stocked, she got to her feet and walked into the kitchen, shouldering him to the side as she reached in for something to eat. They liked to keep steak stocked up for missions. She grabbed a ration that was sitting innocently in the door of the fridge and unwrapped it, popping the slightly hard travel meal into her mouth. It wasn't very filling, and it didn't taste too good.

She quickly regretted eating it.

"Oh, let's go to that pub down the street." she said. "Talking about beer fed made me want some Fish and Chips."

She blinked as he mentioned a daring hunt.

"What kind of daring hunt. Do you mean daring for me or daring for you?"

Sev was fine taking out Elder dragons on his own, Rare subspecies of some monsters but... he hated Deviljhos. So to break himself out of the haze..

"The pub? Yeah sure. That would work. Just be nice to go out once in a while yanno?" He said. Putting a hand on her head and messing up her hair. He was her senpai, but even in a lot of things. Reina taught him a very valuable lesson. he was learning just as much as she was from him. "We'll leave soonish. I just have to log last night as well as tally up some of items i got before we go." He said pulling out a small gem from his pocket. "Some monsters produce a very beautiful gem.. Rubys, sapphires and emeralds.."

He said, he was looking at the ruby with a sigh as he put it on the counter. "I got a lot of these from back when I was solo."

Then she asked about the daring hunt.

"Well, I was thinking something nice for both of us. Maybe a bit of a two on two.. Step things up a notch. You and I versus the King and Queen of the skies." He rubbed his chin as he put the sword down and stretched. Putting the whetstone on the coffee table. Turning his body to look at Reina.

He was having an awkward time staying up as he yawned and stretched. Every since he got the place he had become more accustomed to sleeping in a bit. He was lazy sure. He didn't get up every morning at the crack of dawn to train. Alright.... Sure he would occasionally miss Reina's drills.

"Ya know.. It's been a while since I drilled you." He said rather awkwardly. "I think we might need to do so tomorrow mornin"

He was being serious. It had been a long time since he's seen her last weapon drill or even did it himself. So it would be nice for him to get back into the swing of things, but it was raining out and the weapon he wanted to drill with himself was fire.. So he would have a hard time trying to get anything done with the rain. Plus his armor...

Was all scales and steel. he would have an issue with rain. Even though that armor is perfectly matched for him.

With the ration sitting on her stomach, Reina was thinking ahead to the food her senpai was promising her. Sometimes they could go weeks without a good hunt, without a monster cropping up that didn't get taken by another hunter. Sometimes money was tight--although even then as long as they could find some monster they had the means to make well-done steak if nothing else. But going out for food was generally something they didn't do a lot of.
She would have to savor this. Make it last.

"Blugh!" She exclaimed as he ruffled up her hair. "Rude." Pulling out the hair tie, her hair fell heavily onto her shoulders, almost to her butt. The huntress ran her fingers through it.

They would be doing a two on two. They've never done that before. The idea of it excited and frightened her. Though. "I guess if there's one for each of us, that means I wont be able to shoot you and call it an accident."

At the prospect of doing weapon drills, Reina brightened. She was a creature of practice and habit. If she couldn't do something in practice, it most assuredly wouldn't work during the real deal. So she drilled basic gunlance motions into her body so she would always have something to fall back on.

Always fall back on the basics when all else fails.

"Are you sure you haven't lost your touch, lazy old man?" she teased.

She wasn't dumb when it came to money. Reina had a good head on her shoulders were Sev.. Not so much when it came to money. He always saved up enough for bills.. Though sometimes that was about it. He scratched the back of his head as he was called rude. giving himself a bit of a chuckle as he looked around the living room. "well, guess that makes two of us. hehe." he teased lightly.

Sitting on the couch he decided to lean his head back to close his eyes for a few moments. "Yup. That and gives you a chance to try, then once I'm done I can head ova and watch you. Then if things get dicey I can swoop in." He said. Pointing at his wings. Even though..

He couldn't really fly just yet.

"Oh. I might be rusty with the lance, but doesn't mean I can't show you a trick or two. Like an auto reload.. A few other tips and tricks I'd have tah kill you for." He said with a bit of a grin. Then a laugh as his eyes opened. The shirt accentuated where his bandages are due to how tight it was so he sat up and groaned a bit rubbing his side.

"And plus, you would know if you had my 'touch'." He teased back. Though a little different from before he picked up one of his hunting guides. He was reading up on some of the local monsters to SA. Trying to think of his next outing with a group of people. Maybe a new group for the stronger dragons. Or dungeon crawling monsters as he rubbed his chin.

"I'll need to come up with a new regiment for ya. Something a little more.. Evasive. I've noticed your foot work is a little sloppy." He said laying down on the couch to read. Flipping pages every so often.

"Excuse you," Reina said, crossing her arms as her hair fell heavily around her shoulders and back. "I am the nicest person on this whole island."

As he spoke she grabbed a bottle of water and walked over to the sofa, plopping down onto it next to Sev. She pulled her feet up so that she was sitting on them and reclined. At the sound of him swooping in to save her, she made a long raspberry with her mouth. "Whateeeeever. I look forward to you gently floating down to my rescue."

At the mention of sloppy footwork, Reina looked down, unfolding her legs to peer at her ankle and feet. She had been thinking about something she could do. Her ability to dash was almost unrivaled among hunters, but there was always something more she wished she could do. Buckling down to resist knockback was one thing, but in the air she always got batted around like a cat toy.

She wondered.

"Yeah, sure, that sounds nice," she mumbled. "There's something I wanna try too."

"Oh yeah, you are just a bouquet of flowers and a flirty card on a rainy day." He said with a laugh. Though the amount of laughing made his injuries worsen as he gripped his side. Swearing under his breath. He was only human after all. "God damn.. That's what I get for having fun.."

Reina plopped on the sofa beside him as he was talking about swooping to save her. "Well, I don't got wings just for show.. So what if I can't fly. Lets me look all majestic and bad ass with them flapping to help me land." He said. Patting his wings. his own scales slowly glimmering in the light. Since they were just cleaned.

He looked at her feet when she outstretched him. He.. Let his mind wander slightly. Not his eyes, but his mind was curious on something, but he kept that to himself as he took a sip of his drink.

He took a deep breath as he sat up and reached into his bag. Trying to find his log book as he pulled out a leather bound book and opened it. Then started to scribble notes into it from last night so he could read it again later and make it neat and tidy. Even if he didn't care.

"Oh yeah? What were ya thinkin'? Got me interested and should help with me makin' your new training reg."

He said. having a hard time keeping his eyes open right now as he was still injured and didn't get a wink of sleep last night. This new life style had changed him. Used to sleepless nights or even night hunting then going back out for more things just... Seemed different now.

"Ever get the feelin' like things have changed leaving the village?"

Reina bit back a small smile when Sev's laugh cut off for a groan of pain. She wasn't taking pleasure in his pain, of course not. She was of the mindset that only absolutely sociopathic people took absolute pleasure in the pain of others, but she couldn't help but rationalize it as some act of karma that her shot still hurt so much even after a couple days.

Then again, a fully charged shot from her gunlance was nothing to sniff at. She'd been raising Bergentrukung to be the ultimate finishing move. It was, she'd realized a little while ago, a beginner's build for a gunlance.

She'd have to see about swapping out and swapping around a few pieces and bits to make it a bit better.

Sev's voice jolted her out of her thoughts.

"Oh nothing much. I was just thinking that being able to resist knock back in air would be nice." Her voice was quiet as she talked to herself. "I wanted to give it a shot. Never know until you try, right?"

At his question, her first instinct was to say 'of course not, nothing has changed', but as she actually gave the question a little thought, she realized that wasn't exactly true. A lot of things felt different now, somehow. "Yeah, a little bit." Reina murmured.
