It was a beautiful day. The sun was pitched high in the azure sky, gleaming in all it's regal glory whilst streams glistened beneath its unparalleled radiance. Trees swayed to the tempo of the mid-afternoon breeze, giving rise to a rhythm unique to the woods. In such wondrous scenery, it was no surprise that a particular young bird decided to venture into the forest for a short stroll - and hopefully a satisfying adventure. Kueria maintained her form as a gargantuan bird as she half hopped, half walked through the wild terrain, her wings stretched out ever so slightly in excitement.

And that was when she spotted it.

At the corner of her vision lay a hazy figure resting beneath a large tree. It seemed to be... asleep? Dead? She couldn't tell. Kueria softly muttered to herself, contemplating for just a moment before she decided to check it out. Silencing her footsteps, she slowly but surely sneaked up on the foreign creature which she'd never seen before. Leaning in, the bird spoke, her pace languid as she laced her words with curiosity:

"Uhh Mister... are you dead?"

Not sparring a second for him to respond, she lightly pecked him a few times with her beak.

Slowly the dragon would open one of his eyes, it'd look at the smaller bird being. With a grunt he'd open the other eye and slowly raise his head. "What in all the hell's are you doing?" he'd ask, tilting his head, sounding mildly annoyed.

The dragon would lean his head down, sniffing the bird, picking up the curious emotions coming from them. "Do you always peck people while their napping?" he'd ask with a snort.

"Y'know annoying a sleeping dragon is bad luck right?" he'd ask, raising an eyebrow at the bird.

The second Kueria spotted the dragon move even an inch, she involuntarily let out a yelp of surprise as she scampered a safe distance away. A single thought surfaced from the depths of her mind: that is NOT a rock and NOT dead. The bird instantly regretted disturbing it, whatever it was, and was now at a loss, not knowing what to make of the situation.

What in all the hell's are you doing? Do you always peck people while their napping?"

She attempted to respond but her voice came out unsteady and much softer than she intended. "Kueria was..." she trailed off, trying her best to rummage through her empty mind for some excuse, any excuse. "curious...?" She let out a hitch of laughter trying to lighten the tense mood.

Now the guy called himself a dragon, what is a dragon? Kueria definitely had never heard of such creatures. Curiosity overrode all sense of fear as she ventured forward once more, her pupils dilating ever so slightly whilst she carefully analyzed the other's appearance. Tilting her head up to face the towering male, she then asked in a tone laced with interest.

"Mister, what's a... dragon?"

Eein managed to pick up a few of her thoughts, there indeed only being a few in the bird girl's head. "You don't know what a dragon is?" he'd ask, squinting at her. "As in the giant magical reptiles? The most famous supernatural creatures in all of mythology?.....You probably see us daily here?"

He was still squinting at the bird girl, focusing he'd shrink himself down to a height of six feet. "How the hell do you not know what a dragon is?" he was more curious than angry at this point, still a tiny bit annoyed though.

He'd yawn, his tail stretching a little. "Anyways....shouldn't poke people just because you're curious about them."

The most famous supernatural creatures in all of mythology?.....You probably see us daily here?

Well that certainly did explain why she saw him within a week of attending the school. However, were dragons really all that famous? In everything she could remember during her time as a normal fae, she simply could not recall an incident where she met something as huge and weird but somehow cool as the creature before her. Before she could ponder much about the issue, the dragon... shrank until he stood around her height but just a little shorter.

She let out another ungodly squawk of shock.

"Mister can shrink?" The bird peered in closer than ever, tilting her head ever so slightly at the other's inquiry. She eventually replied after a few seconds of bewilderment, giving her wings a few flaps of astonishment and excitement as she did so. "Kueria hasn't seen a dragon, she thought you were dead... or a rock or something. Sorry for disturbing your nap Mister!"

"Yeah I can change my dragon forms size," it was a useful ability, made it to where he could use the form more often. "Are....are you talking in third person?" he'd squint at her again, "why are you doing that?" This bird creature seemed so strange, he had no idea what it even wanted.

"Well......now you've seen a dragon," he'd look the bird over, "and you are very colorful." He hadn't ever seen a bird like her before, even in the woods of Manta Carlos. "A big colorful bird," he'd sniff the air, the scent identifying the bird as also a fae.

"Anyways.....uh I'm Eein," he guessed introducing himself was the next thing yo do, even if he found her a bit strange.

Kueria blinked. Twice. Was talking in third person all that weird? Back in the seaside, all the birds were talking to her in third person so doing the same occurred naturally. That, and the fact that she had very limited knowledge of language so speaking with first-person pronouns were... troubling to say the least.

"Kueria's friends talk like Kueria, does Mister find it weird?"

Upon hearing the other call her colourful, she put on the best smile she could muster - though smiling with a beak made her grin much subtler than she'd have liked. After chirping a gleeful "Thanks!" and saying her quick greetings of "Kueria is very happy to meet you, Eein!", she began to bombard the poor guy with the first of many questions to come.

Hopping forward, she asked: "What kind of dragon is Eein? Can you blow the fire thing? Or ice thing? Oh, oh, does Eein have magic like Kueria?"

"Eh," he'd shrug, "talk however you want, just never heard someone talk like that before." He'd tilt his head as he was bombarded with questions. "I have a combination, blue fire that freezes things," he'd shrug again, "depends on what you mean by magic, I don't do spells if that's what you mean."

The tip of his tail would tap on the ground as they talked. "I'm half ice dragon, half....sorta nature dragon," his hand would go up and scratch his cheek.

"What about you? Do you have bird magic?" he was mostly joking, but he was curious about what kind of abilities she had.

Element magic? Well, that was kind of similar to what she could do. She was confused at the nature part though could he make trees grow or something? The bird’s expression slowly morphed into one of eagerness as the other other explained what he could do. Speaking once more, her tone was quick and volume a little louder than before.

“That is so cool! Can you show Kueria?”

What about you? Do you have bird magic?

She paused, sparring a quick glance upwards as she searched for the words to say. “Kueria’s singing makes people happy!” To prove her point, she sang a single note which resonated throughout the vicinity. She hoped that this would lighten the other’s mood such that he would forgive her for her rude intrusion.

He'd yawn. "Suuuuuuuure," turning his head he'd shoot out a stream of blue fire into the ground leaving a layer of ice. "It's useful," the tip of his tail would tap on the layer of ice, making it crack a little. "Always nice to surprise people who think it'll just burn instead of freeze."

The dragon would tilt his head as she let out the note, indeed he felt its affect, was less grumpy. "Interesting.....though you should ask before using mind based magics on people," he didn't sound angry though.

"So you're a colorful, happy, singing birb," he'd say with a small chuckle.
