Knot Troubled

Milton walks along the shore of the lake, looking out over the water. He takes a deep breath and releases it. A true warrior trains daily, the vaguely recalled voice in his head had been saying all day, and through training shows his loyalty and honour to his father, his duke, his king, and his God, that he can defend them from those that threaten from near or far. He loosens his shirt and moves to draw his rapier. Something stops the blade from leaving the scabbard. Looking down, Milton sees the large, complex knot holding the sword in it's sheath. He frowns at the knot and tries to unravel it, completely unsuccessfully; neither end of the string holding the sword down is visible.

A chuckle, Mekira strolling down the shore.
"Something stopping your blade, hrmmm? Why not just completely destroy the knot?"

Milton smiles. "Not every situation needs to be solved with destruction," he says, having by now figured out how the knot works. "If you take a little time, you can find an agreeable solution to any problem." He tugs on one loop of the knot swiftly and strongly, releasing the knot and pulling out his rapier. He shifts his sword to his left hand and turns to Mekira, extending his empty right hand in greeting. "I'm Milton Wilde. And you are..."

Mekira shook it with his left hand, feeling the energy drain from the slight touch.
"I am Mekira. Pleased to meet you."

Milton, feeling the energy being drained from him, pulls his hand away quickly, but not suddenly, summoning a small bit of light in his hand. "Interesting grip you've got there, Mekira," he says. Quickly catching a peek at Mekira's palm, he alters the light in his hand to mirror the pattern in Mekira's. "Wonder if this has ever happened before to you? You might want to be careful with that." He looks at his glowing palm, the summoned pattern a near perfect match to Mekira's.

Mekira simply chuckled.
"All you've got there is a light tattoo. My grip is a curse, don't be foolish enough to think some playing about with light can replicate it, even I don't understand my abilities completely."

Milton grins widely, brushing his other hand along the hand with the light in it, dispersing the light. "Well, who can truly know everything about themselves? But seriously, I'd be careful with that." He extends his left arm, still holding his rapier, away from Mekira, and begins simple wrist drills with his sword.

Mekira smirked.
"Careful with it? I rather enjoying dismissively using it on all around me. A party trick really, unless I hold onto you for too long."
He chuckled.

Milton chuckles dismissively. "Some party trick," he says, casually pulling several brass coins and a set of ivory die from the air with his right hand. His left hand continues to perform several well-rehearsed exercises with the rapier, gradually becoming more and more complex. "Leave the party tricks to those of us whose abilities are non-dangerous. A party trick that risks lives is no fun unless you can get drunk first." He gives Mekira a wink before transferring the sword and various summonings to the opposite hand with a quick toss.

Mekira smiled.
"Hrmmm, I rather like dangerous party tricks. Where's the fun when the element of danger is gone?"
