Adelaida was jittery.

She had not let the fires out a full two days owing to constant work, and she was feeling the pressure. She was starting to learn the limits of her ability to keep the flames in, and on her brief naps she woke up to slight burning of her clothes.

Now that her schedule had cleared out, she headed out to the countryside, where she could let loose. Two days of fire backed up needed more release than she typically could afford in an occupied land.

Out here, she found a clearing, and shot up a brilliant plume of fire, that danced through the spectrum of colors. Adazzling display of pyromancy, if she could say so herself.

Hopefully, she didn't hit anything in the sky.

Aura was taking a walk to clear her head. Being out away from everyone meant she didn't have to carry around the anxiety from the occasional body horror episode, starring herself as the main attraction, of late.

Something in the air caught her attention though. The faint scent of something burning on the air. A familiar smell. Approaching closer she could see the column of flames.

"Oh... that um, can't be good," she whispered to herself as she began running to see what was going on.

She wasn't being stealthy. Her bright purplish pink hair and light blue athletic tank top didnt exactly blend in well with the surroundings. Especially in the cold of winter. Her tan shorts and simple sneakers were less flashy though at least.

Aura ran closer and stopped when she saw the woman releasing the flames. At which point she paused to flip part of her bangs down to hide the right side of her face.

"Um.... hello!? You're, um about to catch that tree on fire like that!" She called out as she slipped out of her shoes and socks to run even closer. Perhaps dangerously close for most normal people.

The flames wrapped themselves delicately, around the tree's leaves and twigs, dancing through the gaps. For so long as they didn't linger too long, or touch the plant matter directly, there was no risk to this unplanned light-show.

Adelaida continued this display of pyromanic skill even as the newcomer worried of fires in the forest. "It's all under control," she said, both to the guest and herself.

As the newcomer rushed towards the fire, Adelaida willed them to return to her fingers, and shape itself into a scintillating and eerily accurate heart in her palms.

"The tree is fine, dear. No real need to panic, or be concerned."

Aura paused. Apparently this woman had enough control of her fire to avoid starting a wild blaze. And now she felt foolish.

Looking down towards her feet she apologized softly, "I'm um, sorry. I just saw all the fire and..."

She reached out to offer a hand to shake despite the heat from all the flames. "Sorry, I'm Aura. You must be really um, good at controlling fire to do all that."

"No worries. A decade of practice and unwanted arson tends to do that," Adelaida said with a soft chuckle. She took the flames back inside, and shook hands with this newcomer. They seemed to have some worried bones in their body, and Adelaida disliked having awkward first impressions.

She took out a bottle of ice-cold water and took a swig. Releasing the flames was always cathartic, but the warmth made her thirsty.

"Adelaida. Nice to meet you. Not everyone's first reaction to big fire is to check it out... you're a pretty brave gal."

Aura's hand was actually unnaturally warm to the touch. Not to the point of burning but she definitely seemed to be her own heated blanket- probably why she wasn't very bundled up.

"Oh, um, well fire doesnt really bother me too much. I could... stand in it with no problem." Now that there was no chance of an emergency she felt a little foolish standing there with her bare feet. Although it was kinda fun too.

"Were you just out here practicing with your fire? I think some people prefer the beach for that because theres less.. trees." She smiled, revealing sharp wolfish teeth. "But dont let me um, tell you what to do"

"Venting. The fire has to be let out every now and then or else I overheat and start burning things up. Including myself."

Adelaida could sense a slight discomfort in this visitor. And not from the embarrassment from panic - which is entirely warranted and shouldn't be something to be shy about - she thought.

She felt a certain urge to defuse the situation, even though she wasn't entirely sure what was there to defuse.

"You're awfully warm, aren't you? Sounds like you're pretty similar to myself."

Aura's eye widened. No wonder she was out here letting loose so much fire. "Oh um, is there something I can do to help? As an apology for interrupting your venting."

She tossed her shoes a good distance away just in case and shrugged at her. "I um, dont really make flames but... I think I have magma really deep inside me. Its um, more clear in my wolf form but I'd rather stay like this. I guess you could say I kind of get my mindless venting done once a month. Er, on the full moon I mean."

Adelaida eyed her visitor. An air of mild unease was evident.

"No worries, I was just finishing up. How about you? Here to vent as well? Probably not, but if you need to, I can keep an eye out... plus, I think it'll just be cool to watch if there's magma involved."

She barely hid the half-anticipatory look in her eye. Adelaida liked seeing other people in the throes of their release, in the moment where they succumbed to their urges. She always learned from those encounters, how to better silence the voices within.

The unease turned to nervous laughter as Aura looked away. "I um, can't actually let the magma out like that. Actually I was really just taking a walk to relax my mind a little. It helps sometimes to just walk and breathe." As if to prove her words she took in a deep breath and sighed the air back out, a smile returning to her face. Or the half of her face that was visible anyway.

"No offense but if I was really venting... I don't um, know you well enough to show what I look like during that. It's a lot more than most people can um. Handle." She added quietly. It was sadly very true.

She shifted a little and rubbed at one of her wrists. "Um, would you like some company out here? I don't really have other plans at the moment."
