Private Kicking the door down

Sazz froze for a brief second as Wednesday hugged him. No he wasn't expecting that reaction, but he should've. He wrapped his arms around her again holding her tight. She was trying to keep it all together, for her own sake if nothing else but this was just too much.

For his part he understood exactly what she was saying. Maybe he should have been more afraid. After all, he was staring down the edge of a cliff. Still, he refused to even consider giving up. He contemplated what he should even say now.

"If I was going to leave you, I wouldn't even be here right now," he finally said. "And... after all that I couldn't just leave you alone. You're not alone."

There was a bit of frustration in his breath as he sighed. Still, he understood where she was coming from, seeing it was just painful.

"That's your guilt talking. We don't know what we could have done differently back there, but we're here now. Even if there's nothing that can be done I wanna at least give you the best times I can. That's what people who care about each other do."

He reached for her as she started to pull away. "I might be a little crazy. But if it's for you, the risk is worth it anyway. Besides, the only person who chooses how I live is me."

"Yeah, I know that. It's a pretty terrifying prospect too. But I have no intentions of letting you bear this burden all by yourself. Knowing and doing nothing to help is worse," he took her hand and gave it a little squeeze.

Sazz knew there was no real reassurances with this. There was no promising that he could make other than being there with her.

Sazz moved closer to Wednesday when she finally spoke up.

"You don't even have to ask," he answered gently, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I'm not going anywhere, alright?"
