Build: Slender Full Body Reference Her age isn't easily determined by looking at her; she could be anywhere from a child to an adult depending on how she presents herself. Kealani has six arms all with sharp claws. Her nose is flatter to her face than a human's, and her lips don't cover the very long, thick teeth in her mouth. She has five eyes in a semi-circle around her face and sharp ears. Her hair is a dark brown, often coming off black in low light settings, and falls only to her chin. It's thick enough that she can stylize it with spunky looking pig-tails or buns and she usually does so. Her eyes are dark purple but come off black and without any whites. Her clothing style is bright and feminine, with many ruffles, bows, and leggings. She can wear gothic style dressing as comfortably as she would princess-style. While she leans toward dresses and leggings, Kal will wear high-waisted skirts or shorts but almost never pants. |
Personality
Kal is, in a word, refined. She's posh, dignified, and has all those old-timey skills taught to women who went through finishing school.
Kealani is passionate about music (specifically electronic violin and dubstep), literature, and dance. She brings a level of elegance to each of these categories, never seeming to misstep or lack confidence.
She speaks in an even, soft tone that is meant to make her more approachable. She has no qualms about how she looks or how others might perceive her. She is very proud of her academic achievements and is always striving to be better than she was before.
While she is academically advanced, Kal's social life is non-existent. She is bashful and nervous around people who flirt with her or girls she deems 'cool.' She tends to pretend she's fine with a solitary life even while yearning for more.
Abilities
Actives
Cosmetically Pleasing Tea: Can change the color, texture, or scent of her tea. Texture can only mildly be changed and never to anything harmful. Making her tea look like lava or smoke, does not make it actually function as those. When drinking it, a person is still drinking a liquid.Tasseography: Kal can use tea leaves to read a person's general future or past. For this to work, the person must sit down and drink tea with her. When Kal is doing this, she cannot use any of her potions on the tea. Works best when a question is asked.
Tea Elixirs: Kal creates potions out of her tea. This is as simple as her touching her teapot or cup of tea to create the elixir she desires.There is no noticeable taste difference between her elixirs.
Thus far she can only create a few types of potions:
Medical Tea: Kal's medical tea puts people's body into overdrive to help them heal at twice the rate they usually would. It gives the feeling of laughing gas or other strong medicines that might make someone fall asleep. Does not help with people's pain. The effects of this potion last for twelve hours.
The time and healing factor of the position do not stack, but if more than one cup is drunk in rapid succession, a person will find themselves out cold.
Toxic Tea: Weakens a person's immune system. Symptoms of this tea include nausea, vomiting, intense abdominal cramping, blood thinning, dizziness, dehydration and in cases of inducing multiple cups of tea, nightmarish hallucinations and possible death.
The effects last up to twenty-four hours and become progressively worse the more cups of tea had. At eight cups, hallucinations can begin, at ten cups death is nearly a positive.
Psychedelic Sleep Tea: This elixir lasts only as long as someone sleeps. When a person sleeps under the effects of this tea, they will have a psychedelic dream or nightmare that is prophetic. It will offer them a symbolic solution to whichever problem or situation they were thinking about before falling asleep.
Web Generation: Can generate webs from her mouth and use her hands to weave them. Can only generate twice her mass in web daily at an absolute maximum. Her webs cannot cut people, but they're as strong as steel and very thin and flexible. Webs are adhesive.
Passives
Adhesive Climbing: Kal can climb solid surfaces, including hanging upside down from the ceiling.Enhanced Abilities: Kal has enhanced agility, flexibility, and speed lending her to amazing reflexes. She can easily do kickflips, running up walls, and jumping long distances.
While most of the time, her abilities do not seem supernatural, during a gust of adrenaline Kal is quick and flexible enough to dodge bullets.
Seismic Sense: Can feel vibrations around her. Like a spider, this works best with her web but she can feel vibrations through air and liquid easily, and through solids with concentration. She has danger intuition when something comes within an arm's length of her and is moving, such as a projectile or a limb.
Silent Step: Kal moves in complete silence.
Spider Physiology: ○ Kal has six arms. She also has five eyes in a semi-circle around her head.
○ Has sharp teeth meant for killing prey and eating meat as well as equally sharp claws on all six of her hands.
○ Does not have blood in her body, giving her increase in stamina as her body doesn't need to circulate her blood flow. This stops her from bleeding out or dying from wounds that cause death through blood loss. She has a hemolymphatic circulatory system.
○ Does not age at a normal human rate.
Weaknesses
Amblyopia: Kal is considered legally blind. She's best at seeing fast moving objects but everything else is blurry to her. Some of her eyes are farsighted, the others are nearsighted making it so her depth perception is awful. Trying to close certain eyes and keep others open does not help with this.Caffeine: Effects her like psychedelic drugs.
Carnivorous: Kal has to have sapient meat to thrive. Her diet can consist of non-sapient meat but this option isn't healthy for her, leaving her with a weakened immune system and very low energy. She will also find herself struggling more with her instincts when she hasn't had sapient meat within a day.
Extreme Temperatures: Kal cannot regulate her body temperature like most humans. Extreme heats and extreme cold locations are deadly to her. The average summer or winter weather on the island is enough to be dangerous for her without air conditioning or fireplaces/warm clothing.
Predatory Instincts: When people are afraid or running from her, or just seem weak or wounded, Kal has to fight herself not to attack them while they're weak. She has a hoarders impulse when it comes to food.
History
○ Her mother gave her up during infancy, and she was placed in Manta Carlos' orphanage, having been born on the island.○ As a toddler she was adopted by the Morncers.
