Euna had fallen asleep against rocks before. This was almost the same thing, if not worse.
As inexperienced as she was with her abilities, the way the plastic bracelet cut off her mana made her feel as though a limb were cut off. It wasn’t like the draining, soul-sucking feeling of a silencing, but it made her uncomfortable all the same, the way legs feel when blood circulation is cut off.
If this were a silencing, it would be so illegal I could sue all your asses, she thought.
The chair she had woken up in was worse than sleeping with her back to a boulder. The room stank. This place sucked. She didn’t even remember how she got here, or why her body even allowed itself to be dragged into this sorry hole.
“Hey, you’d better let me out, scrubs, or you’ll be sorry! Are you even listening!?” Euna stood up and pounded on the door for the hundredth time. It remained locked. Euna growled and gave the door a kick. Unfortunately for her, she angled her foot wrong, resulting in excruciating pain in her toes.
“Son of a—“ She knelt down on the floor, examining her foot, cursing continuously at a pitch only bats were meant to hear.
