Just looking around...

Ara took a deep breath and opened one eye as she looked around. She had been expecting something to be in front of her when she opened her eye, but to her relief, there was nothing. She smiled slightly and gave a small sigh, and looked around the area. It didn't look like anything harmful was near by, or even there at all. "Maybe the Headmistress was wrong..." she mumbled to herself, and began to walk further into the mountains.

She looked around, and blinked wildly for a moment. The sun was setting! But... how could that be? Surely she hadn't spent the whole day in the mountains... or had she? Perhaps the fun of just exploring had over taken her, and time had slipped her mind.

The girl sighed, and leaned against a rock. She tapped her staff on the ground, just watching the sky as the first few stars began to appear.

Allie too had gotten a strong curiosity and decided she would just take a look....
She walked around looking at the beautiful mountain range, She took a deep breath... Ahead she saw the most beautiful, sunset Suddenly she heard a deep growl!... :yikes: "Ahh!" There in front of her was a dragon! It didn't look happy either! But he didn't notice her, she looked at what he was looking at and saw Ara!....

Caligula, the dragon with glorious shining scales of ebony continued to look at Ara, almost pensively with his blood-red eyes, his wings folded back as his large body crouched on the ground.
He growled again, peered at Allie, and then speaking, his voice itself a smooth, dark growl.
"Tell me girl. What are you doing here? It's no use hiding, my senses could smell your dank human scent quite quickly."

Ara couldn't help but feel that she was being watched. She gulped did she really want to know what was watching her, if anything? As she looked around, she thought she saw nothing, but with a double take to a certain area saw a girl and a dragon.

I'm not afraid, she lied to herself in the hopes to boost her confidence. I'm not afraid...

She tapped her staff on the ground, and shimmered in front of Allie, a look of bravery on the outside, but a feeling of fear on the inside. She glanced at Allie with a wink. She then turned back to the dragon, holding her staff tighter than she had ever held it before in her life, a soft sigh escaping her lips.

"Monsters," she said, shaking her head, "always picking on things weaker and smaller than themselves. I don't know why people fear you when you're such cowards..."

Oh, God, can't believe I just said that... I'm gonna die, I know it, I'm gonna die...

Caligula peered at Ara wistfully, exhaling suddenly, a huge, deep, warm breath whipping into the girls. Then he laughed, a deep, almost growling bestial sound, very odd for a dragon.
"Hahahaha...How naive and amazingly boring humans can be with their stupid philosophy. All that matters is life and death. To the dead, if they were cowardly or brave in death is irrelevant. When you're dead, you're dead."
He snorted and suddenly rose, peering at Ara and then laughing again, suddenly posing an odd question.
"Tell me human, do you exercise much?"

Ara raised an eye brow. She bit her lip, trying to think of a calm way to give an answer, hopefully that way she wouldn't be ripped to shreds. So many ways to reply crossed her mind, but most of them were rude. Finally, something popped into her head that wasn't the nicest thing in the world to say, but wasn't the meanest either... it was good enough.

"Um... that's a rather personal question, don't you think? What business is it of yours if I exercise or not?"

Caligula snorted.
"Because I find humans that exercise have a stringy, less delicious taste because of their often tough muscles. Average humans or humans perhaps a tiny bit overweight have a better flavor, trust me, or they're at least easier to devour. Trust me."
He blood-red eyes glittered as he breathed another burst of hot steam.

Ara's heart pounded. She began to curse herself for being so stupid, coming out here, then getting caught in the middle of all this. And worst of all, she wasn't the only one here; if she was the only one in harms way, she could have cared less. But this other girl was in danger too... she had to at least save the other girls life, and if she saved her own in the process, that was just a bonus. If she wound up dying... well, at least she'd be with her brother.

No! Stop it! I'm going to get both of us out of here alive, I won't let either of us die...

"It all depends on what form I'm in... I'm usually in this one, so... yes, I exercise quite a bit. Sorry, but looks like you're out of luck." Ara held her staff even tighter (if that was even possible) and made sure she was standing directly in front of Allie in case the dragon tried to do anything to her.

Caligula swooped up into the air, a few feet above the ground, his great wings beating down wind upon the girls.
"Don't tell me you intend to resist?! How inexcusably bothersome and rude of you!"

Allie was sick of this, She summoned wind at the dragon blowing him away from Ara.... "You won't defeat me or Ara! And I'll see that through!!".......
